Tall Country Snowman

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Happy Saturday Friends!  I have one last Christmas/Winter card to share with you this month...but, I am not sure everyone wants to really think about snow these days!
 Lisa

This is Tall Country Snowman (S035) and Think Snow sentiment (E044).  Such an adorable country snowman image!!!

The image was stamped on Xpress It cardstock with a Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad using my Misti Stamping Tool.  The image was coloured with Copic Markers.  Once the colouring was finished, Glossy Accents were applied on the snowman's carrot nose, the mouse's nose, and the beak on the bird.

For the card base, I chose some SU Kraft cardstock.  The designer paper is from Carta Bella-Warm & Cozy 6x6 Paper Pad.  It's a bit difficult to see ALL the glitter on this card, but in real life it is quite sparkly.  Some SU Night of Navy Ink was sponged around the main image, then dry glitter was applied.  A Zig-Wink of Stella pen (yellow glitter) was used on all of the stars to add even more sparkle!  Foam tape was applied to adhere the sentiment to add some dimension.

To complete this card, some liquid pearl dots were added and a snowflake punch was used behind the sentiment.  Clear rhinestones were also added on the centre of the snowflake and snow part of the sentiment.  Such a fun and sparkly card to make, and my mom is still cleaning up my mess from all the dry glitter I used! hahahaha!

Supplies Used:
InkCopic Markers - E31, E53, R39, T2, T6, T10, B99, R59, E79, Y08, YR60, B97 and T0; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad; SU Night of Navy Ink Pad (sponging around image).

Paper - Carta Bella-Warm & Cozy 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Kraft Cardstock; Xpress It Cardstock.

MiscMisti Stamping ToolGlossy Accents, Liquid Pearls-Garnet, Clearsnap-Fairy Dust Glitter (clear), Glue Pen, Clear Rhinestones, SU Oval Punch, Snowflake punch, Zig-Wink of Stella pen-yellow glitterFoam Tape and Glue Dots.

Oops Oliver Bear in a Winter Wonderland

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Well Christmas in July has been a fun one, but has gone by too fast as usual!

For my final Christmas card post for this month, I am excited to share this cute image with you...
 Jane

This is Oops Oliver Bear (S050) and Winter Wonderland Background (U013).  Such an adorable and fun image!

To start, I used a piece of watercolour paper and a Versamark Ink Pad to stamp the image and background (using my Misti Stamping Tool) then applied Black Embossing Powder on the ink and heated it.  To colour the main image, Tombow Markers and water were used.  After the colouring was finished and dry, Glossy Accents were added on Oliver's nose and skate blades.  Once this was all dry, I proceeded to fussy cut out the main image. The background was coloured using Distress Ink Pads with the ink blending tool applicator for the sky and ice pond.  Frosted Lace Stickles were applied to the background on the snowflakes, trees and snow hill to add some sparkle.

For the card base, I decided on a piece of SU Real Red cardstock.  To adhere Oliver on the card, foam tape was applied to help make him pop out a bit.  To complete this card, a piece of Doodlebug Twine was tied in a bow near the top of the card.

Meowy Christmas

The High Hopes design team is continuing to share Christmas in July posts. How talented are my fellow designers!?! I hope you have been inspired to start your Christmas cards - it's never too early!

My card today features "Christmas Kitty Fun" and the "Meowy Christmas Saying" sentiment - both from High Hopes. How cute are these kittens!!! Every cat and kitten I know can play for hours in a box and honestly, I can see one of my brothers doing this to my younger sister......

Close Up

I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and then cut it out leaving a bit of a white edge. I glued it down and cut it out of cardstock and popped them it with pop dots.

I wanted my card to look like a present with ribbon and a bow so I found some paper in my stash from MME and created my card base. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out, again, leaving a bit of an edge and then mounting it on cardstock. Glitter was added to the Santa hat and clear sparkle pen was added to the red bow and to the cardstock bow (hard to see). I left the layout fairly simple on this card because I wanted these two kittens to steal the show.

Precious Nativity

Howdy - MichelleO here today and we are still having some fun with the Christmas in July. And to end the month I decided that Precious Nativity is just the perfect Christmas image.

Love how precious .. "Precious Nativity" so sweet and you know I love that donkey! I colored with my Copics (colors below) matching it up with papers from Authentique Grateful collection. I sewed down the layers with a zig zag stitch, then I added the adhesive lace with punches from Martha Stewart leaf punches and then lots mulberry roses. It seemed to need a little more so I added some Viva Decor Pearl Pen dots for some dew drops.

Copic colors used.

There are so many wonderful Christmas images at High Hopes and honestly... do you know how close Christmas is? We need to get started on our cards pretty soon don't we? Hello High Hopes Fans!

I have my last card in this months Christmas in July series.

I was running a little short on time last night so I decided to make a flip card.
They are so quick and easy to make with a Sizzix Flip it Die!

For the image I used Skiing Santa.

Here it is when you flip it open.
The sentiment is Bold Seasons Greetings.
The holly stickers are Jollee.

The patterned paper is from a 6"pad by The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.

Here is a close up look.
I colored the image with colored pencils and blended with blending stumps and gamsol.

Penguin Friends!

Happy Tuesday HH Fans!
For my last "Christmas in July" post I wanted to share with you "Penguin Friends"! As you might have guessed I love Penguins and these "friends" are adorable!
I am using paper from the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6x6 collection. I love the fun bright patterns Doodlebug always has! I tried to make it look like the penguins were sitting behind a glittery brick wall. The sentiment is called "From All Of Us" and an icicle border finished everything off!
I used the MFT Brick Wall stencil and some Bo Bunny Glitter paste to create the wall.
On the inside more of the matching papers and the "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" sentiment.
Copics Used:
Penguins: C1, C5, C7, C9 / YR12, YR14, YR18
Purples: V12, V15, V19
Blues: B21, B23, B26

Toboggan Joyride

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Happy Saturday Friends!  I have another Christmas/Winter card to share with you today... Hopefully this helps to inspire you to start those festive cards!
 Lisa

This is Toboggan Joyride (S071) and Bold Seasons Greetings sentiment (H044).  Such a cute image, with these little fellas having some fun flying down the slope!!!

The image was stamped on Xpress It cardstock with a Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad using my Misti Stamping Tool.  The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

For the card base, I chose some SU Kraft cardstock, along with a piece of SU Not Quite Navy cardstock for layering.  The designer paper is from Bo Bunny-Whiteout Collection 6x6 Paper Pad.  The image was fussy cut out with a tiny border, in order to avoid some difficult to reach areas.  White cardstock was ripped to form a snow hill then spritzed with some Prima Frost White Shimmer Spray.  It's a bit difficult to see the glitter on the snow in this pic, but in real life it is quite sparkly.  The entire scene was die cut using a YNS die called Stitched Rectangles.  The navy layering piece was also cut with the next size larger die in the same set.  Foam tape was applied to adhere the main image to add some dimension.  To stamp the sentiment, a SU Not Quite Navy Ink Pad was used to coordinate with the cardstock.

To complete this card, a couple strans of twine ribbon tied in a bow was added at the top of the card, along with two YNS Sparkly Navy Blue gumdrops.  Such a fun card to make!

Supplies Used:
InkCopic Markers - E49, E25, R27, E23, B91, B99, T4, T6 and E31; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad; SU Not Quite Navy Ink Pad (sentiment).

Paper - Bo Bunny-Whiteout Collection 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Kraft, Not Quite Navy and White Cardstock; Xpress It Cardstock.

MiscMisti Stamping Tool, Prima-Frost White Shimmer Spray, YNS-Stitched Rectangle Dies, YNS Gumdrops-Sparkly Navy Blue, Twine, Foam Tape and Glue Dots.

Mudzies Gift

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

It's Christmas in July!  I sure hope Santa dresses lightly, if he plans on coming this way any time soon!  The heat is definitely on and it's way too dry here...

For today's post, I have a super fun image to share with you!  I hope this makes you chuckle a little.
 Jane

This is Mudzies Gift (T030) and Sm. Christmas Script sentiment (F051).  Such a cute image and definitely a fun one to colour too!

To start, I used a piece of watercolour paper and a Versamark Ink Pad to stamp the image (using my Misti Stamping Tool) then applied Black Embossing Powder on the ink and heated it.  To colour the image, Tombow Markers and water were used.  After the colouring was finished and dry, Glossy Accents were added on the ribbon, bow and power outlet. Also, various colours of Stickles (see supplies listed below for actual colours used) were applied on the string of Christmas lights to add a bit of sparkle.  Once this was all dry, I proceeded to fussy cut out the image.  This was a bit challenging around some of the fine detail.

For the card base, I decided on a piece of SU Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The designer papers are from Carta Bella-Warm & Cozy 6x6 paper pad and SU Merry Moments 6x6 paper pad.  I wanted to create a living room type of scene at Christmas.  So I thought, the hardwood flooring, base board trim and wallpaper idea looked perfect!  To adhere Mudzie on the card, only the top two-thirds of him had foam tape applied to the back, and the bottom third (legs) and power outlet had glue dots applied.  This helps make him pop out a bit, but still look realistic as he is sitting on the floor.

The banner for the sentiment was die cut using a YNS die called Cool Tag Three.  I stamped the Merry Christmas script with a versamark ink pad and SU Early Espresso Embossing Powder was applied then heated.

Supplies Used:
***Note: If you are in need of any products used here, please send Lora at OCS an email and I'm sure she would be happy to get the item(s) you are looking for.

Paper - Carta Bella-Warm & Cozy 6x6 Paper Pad, SU Merry Moments 6x6 Paper Pad; SU Chocolate Chip Cardstock; Watercolour paper.

Silent Night

Wow! I can't believe it's Thursday again! Not only is it my day to post but it's one day closer to Fri-YAY!!!

We are featuring Christmas in July on the High Hopes blog and today I am sharing a card using an older High Hopes image called "Shepard's Awe". I love that High Hopes has so many images to choose from you can always find the perfect one!
This stamp is perfect for Christmas cards for my in-laws.
When I saw this stamp, the Silent Nigh Christmas carol came in to my head almost immediately.

Close Up

As always, I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and then this one I chose to cut out with a stitched square die. This sentiment was created on my computer. A star banner piece was cut out with a die and I added some clear Wink of Stella to it as well as the yellow star - always so hard to see in a photo. A few blueberry gumdrops finish off my card.

Jolly Old St. Nick

Howdy - MichelleO here today and it has been Christmas in July here at High Hopes Stamps - and how can you really do a feature on Christmas stamps and not do a St. Nick?

I love "Jolly Old St. Nick" ... maybe it is the addition of those two sweet little kitties?

I colored with my Copics (colors below) matching up with the bright fun Christmas papers from Kaisercraft's Christmas Carnival collection. One thing I love about these fun non traditional colors and the fact that the collection comes with shaped tags that can be used for the sentiments. And speaking of sentiments I love the "Holly Jolly" sentiment with this laughing Santa.

Copic colors used -

I hope that this Jolly St. Nick gave you a smile, and maybe some inspiration for your Christmas cards this year!

Thanks so much for looking - and for more info you can see my personal blog post www.donkeysmiles.blogspot.com
