Wishing you Holiday Cheer......

Welcome Everyone;

It is never too early to start making Christmas cards.  When I saw this Cardinal in High Hopes Stamps Summer2020 release, I knew I would be creating a Christmas card with it.  I have always associated cardinals with Christmas.  What the association with Christmas is, I'm not sure.

After the image with Copic Markers, I cut it out with a Double In and Out Stitched Square Die.  I added a gold border using some Peel Off Stickers.  Some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops and Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents to finish the card off.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Cardinal (TLF017) - Summer Release 2020 - High Hopes Stamps, Holiday All Year (H200) -- High Hopes Stamps
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock; DP My Favourite Christmas (Echo Park), My Favourite Christmas Co-ordinating Solids (Echo Park)
  • Copic Markers:

  • Die: Double Stitched In and Out Die -- Gina Marie Designs

Flower Gnome Birthday

I love all of the gnomes in the Summer 2020 new release! Flower Gnome is in the house this week! I wish he would move in to my gardens. He could work some magic for me don't you think? Hot, dry, humid weather has brought out the bugs and they have had a feast on my favourite rose bushes!
Since he probably be waving some magic in my gardens any time soon, I have created a birthday card with him for someone who loves gnomes and flowers.

After colouring this cutie with alcohol markers and adding some sparkle pen to the heart I hand fussy cut him using my trusty cuticle scissors. I chose paper from the It's A Boy collection from Carta Bella for this A2 design. To make the frame I took two rectangle dies, taped them down and ran it through my Big Kick. One of the sentiments from the Mini Sentiment Set #1 was the perfect size and fit for my fish tail banner collage. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Flower Gnome - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Mini Sentiment Set #1 - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: It's A Boy - Carta Bella

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, Bazzill card stock, clear Spectrum Sparkle pen, fish tail banner dies - YNS, rectangle die - Kat Scrappiness, oval die - Spellbinders, ribbon, enamel dots

Happy Birthday Gnome

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Balloon Gnome - SLF016 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Mini Sentiment Set #1 - HLL001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment from the new release this month. The mini sentiment comes with 3 more sayings as well, which means you can use this little gnome to make a variety of different cards for multiple occasions. I chose to make a birthday card this time.

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple white card sized at 5.5" x 4.25". Then I used Doodlebug Design Inc. - Fairy Tales paper to create my background rectangles. To do this, I used my Cuttlebug and die cuts from My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wilted Violet and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers to ink around the edges of the frames. I layered the first 2 layers directly onto the base and also glued the 2 smaller rectangles together. Then I popped up the smaller rectangles with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.

I stamped the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and then coloured it in with Copic markers. Once completed, I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image. Then I popped up the image with the 3M VHB - 2 sided tape as well.

To finish the card off, I added some bling using Kraftin Kimmie - Summer Dots,  Kraftin Kimmie - Festive Dots and CC Designs - Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Balloon Gnome - SLF016 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Sentiment: Mini Sentiment Set #1 - HLL001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wilted Violet, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers
Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Doodlebug Design Inc. - Fairy Tales (6" x 6")
Die Cuts: My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies, My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers
Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, Kraftin Kimmie - Summer Dots, Kraftin Kimmie - Festive DOts, CC Designs - Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots, Brother Scan and Cut

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Workout Betty!

Happy Tuesday!
Oh my gosh this image just totally cracks me up! Meet "Workout Betty" from the Summer 2020 Release over at High Hopes Stamps! I love the expression on her face and those socks with her boots....LOL!!!
I decided to have fun with this card and use bright papers! Of course the Doodlebug "School Days" 6x6 collection fit the bill! The sentiment is also from High Hopes and is called "Caution". I added some matching enamel dots to finish off my card. I searched for "Card Sketches"on Pinterest and found this sketch to inspire my design. I made my card a 5.5" square rather than the A2 size.
My decorated inside uses up some of my scraps and I added the High Hopes sentiment called "Humor Me"

FRED

Howdy - MichelleO here today! This new release at High Hopes Stamps is so fun to color! Happy stamps = Happy Me! Today I played with the new doggie image "Fred"

Isn't he just too cute? I colored with my Copics (colors below) and shaded with some of my pencils. Just adore that bandana around Fred's neck. I added Viva Decor Paint Pen dots to it so it has more pop to it. I sewed down with image to a scrap of the paper I from older My Mind's Eye. Is it just me or does everyone love gingham? I decided to keep it a bit more simple just the one pattern, with the image sewn down with a zig zag stitch. I extra large leaf punch in the corner with three mulberry yellow roses. For a sentiment I pulled out a sweet one. High Hopes Stamps Sentiment - "Smiling!"
A great image for a friend that you haven't seen in a while due to our times..

Willa Smiles

Willa is absolutely adorable and makes me smile. I have had a few experiences with mice in my home and office but none of them are as cute a Willa from the new release! I love her big smile and can't help but smile with her. I hope the person who receives this card will smile too!

I coloured the adorable Willa with alcohol markers and cut her out using a pleated lace square die. There is some Twinkle Stickles on the bee wings just for a little bit of bling.
Next I grabbed some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and cut them to size for my design. I added some die cut flowers in two of the corners and finished my card off with a bow and enamel dots.

The Song of Birds

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Bluebird - TLF015 from High Hopes Rubber Stamps new release for the main image and Kiss of the Sun - H223 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I just fell in love with this image and sentiment and knew it was the perfect combination for a slim line card.

Closer Look: Blue Bird

Closer Look: Poem

For my card this week, I stamped the images and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. The main image was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies - Easel Slider. The sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. Once all of the colouring was completed, I went around all of the die cuts with a Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint pen.

I decided to make this a slim line card starting out with a white card base sized at 8.75" x 4". I just received some new Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders and just had to try them out. So I cut some Monte Marte - Watercolour Book - 190 GSM paper the same size and started playing. This background is the one that I decided to go with. I just loved the way it picked up some of the same colours as the flowers. The powder was easy to use. You just sprinkle some powder on the paper and spritz with water. You can't really make it out in the photo, but the paper actually has a beautiful pearlesque look to it. I also went around all of the sides of the base with the Sharpie pen as well. I then popped up the sentiment and coloured image with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and added some embellishments.

When I went to decorate the little flower embellishments with Stickles - Yellow, some accidentally went onto my background paper.  I decided I really liked the look and then just added it everywhere using the tip of my stylus.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Bluebird - TLF015  (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Sentiment: Kiss of the Sun - H223 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder - Candy Pink
Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Monte Marte - Watercolour Book - 190 GSM, Hot Pink cardstock
Die Cuts: My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies, My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers, Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies - Easel Slider
Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, Craft - Rhinestone Stickers, Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Flowers: RV17, RV04, RV02, RV000, E15, Y38, Y15, Y04
Leaves: YG67, YG17, YG09
Branches: E31, E29, E23

Raindrops Willa

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then shaded with pencils. The Raindrops I added Viva Decor Sparkle Drops. For my sentiment I used a great Get Well Sentiment from High Hopes Stamps - "Better Quickly" Love this poem to send as a Get Well. The colors matched up well with an older SEI dotted paper. Love how it works so well and simple with this image. And I love papers that are two sided to match up perfectly.

Meet Fred!

I am an animal lover and dogs are some of my favourite so when I saw Fred in the new Summer 2020 release I had to have him!
His head tilt just makes me laugh and adds to his cuteness! My dog is a rescue named Moe and now that he has finally settled in to this being his house, he has started the head tilt when I talk to him.
Fred is perfect for a birthday card I need for a family member and for a card for a friend to add to my stash. I have big, future plans for the adorable Fred so you may just see him again - wink - he is just too fun!

After colouring Fred in two different colour combos, I cut him out using a square and rectangle die.
For the pink card I kept my layout simple and added him to some paper from Cocoa Vanilla. This card is for my niece (shhh don't tell) for her birthday and is coloured to match her dog and explains the pink lol. Some fishtail banners and a mini paw print were perfect to make my embellishment for the corner. Ribbon and enamel dots finish off the card.

The blue card is for my "to send a pick me up to a friend" stash. After I cut my stamp with a rectangle die I used a hill die to add an interesting edge to the bottom. I cut my card stock to fit and added the same curve.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a journal card die I have in my stash. Some photo corners, twine and enamel dots finish off this card. Fred is popped up using foam pop dots to add some dimension.

All Dreams Come True

It’s Wednesday, and this week, High Hopes Rubber Stamps new release Dreamy Willa - SLF010 is looking up into the stars and sharing this special moment with her little friend. I thought All Dreams Come True - G011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) was the perfect sentiment to go with this adorable new image. Sometimes it's nice to be just like Willa and just gaze up at the stars and just live in the peace and tranquility of the moment. Have you ever done this? I know I have.

To make my card this week, I started out with a base card of 6" x 6". Then I cut the main background the same size using Hot Buy Craft Smart - Moon Flower Magic. I just fell in love with this paper and thought it went so perfectly with the new image. I also die cut some miscellaneous cardstock that I had which had little stars and is navy blue using My Creative Time - Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. I also, die cut the main image with the same set of dies out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time - Ribbon End Dies. All of the die cuts were then edged with Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint.

Both the main image and sentiment were stamped using my Misti and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. The image was then coloured in using Copic markers which I have listed below. Once the image was all coloured, I bumped up the background, image and sentiment with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.
