Thundering Rogue

Yo Ho Maties, today I'm sharing a Pirate card that I made using The Thundering Rogue - T053 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Yo Ho - H179 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This image is perfect for a little boy's card.

To make my CAS card today, I used AC White cardstock cut at 12" x 6" and then scored at 6" to create a base of 6" x 6". Using double-sided tape I attached the background using Scrapberry's - The Pirate's Treasure paper. I thought it went perfectly with this image.

I stamped both the image and sentiment using my Misti and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the images using Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut around the main images and coloured in the interior with Copic markers B97, B95 and BG11 to match the colours of the background. Using My Creative Time - Ribbon End Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the sentiment and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Faded Jeans. I added some Copic Opaque White to the tops of the ocean waves to give it that frothy texture.

To complete my card, I used 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and popped up both the image and sentiment to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  The Thundering Rogue - T053 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: Yo Ho - H179 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Faded Jeans

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Scrapberry's - The Pirate's Treasure (6x6 Paper Collection), AC White Cardstock

Die Cuts: My Creative Time - Ribbon End Dies

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape

I Love You!

Hi HH Fans;

February is just around the corner and so is Valentine's Day.

According to Wikepedia, Valentine's Day originated as a Western Christian feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.. Even though it isn't a public holiday, it is still celebrated on February 14th, and many Valentine's Day cards are given out by children and adults alike.  Some as secret admirers.

For today's card I have used the adorable Kitty's Heart Frame paired with I love You! both from High Hopes Stamps.  After colouring the image with Copic Markers, I fuzzy cut it. I stamped the image again and cut around the heart shape and then used that mask to cut another heart using some mulberry paper.  A heart die was used with another piece of mulberry paper.  Some ribbon and enamel dots finished off the card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Kitty's Heart Frame - S171, I love You! - D004 both from High Hopes Stamps
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - Love Me - My Mind's Eyes, Mulberry Paper
  • Copic Markers:
    • W00 - Warm Gray No. 00, W1 - Warm Gray No. 1, W2 - Warm Gray No. 2, W3 - Warm Gray No. 3
    • R11 - Pale Chery Pink, R20 - Blush
    • R85 - Rose Red, R83 - Rose Mist, R81 - Rose Pink
    • R46 - Strong Red, R29 - Lipstick Red, R27 - Cadmium Red
  • Die:  Stitched Nesting Hearts -- Tutti Designs
  • Zig Wink of Stella - Clear
  • Miscellaneous:  Ribbon, Enamel Dots

Dive Right In

I have quite a few nephews and young men/boys in my life so I can never have enough masculine themed birthday cards in my stash.

Most of them are outdoorsy and like to swim so "Diver Dan and Sea Floor Background" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps are perfect for an under water scene card!

I started by stamping the sea floor background followed by Diver Dan and coloured them with Copic markers. I cut them to the size I wanted and set them aside. Next I found some paper from Doodlebug that has a wavy, watery feel to it. I stamped and cut my Dive Right In sentiment to size and masked the Happy Birthday out of the Swinging Birthday sentiment stamp.
After cutting a piece of card stock to size to go behind the coloured image, I used an mini anchor and star fish to create a border. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

C'mon Baby Light My Fire!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Walker Walter - TLF013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Walker Winnie - TLF012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main images and Light My Fire - F154 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I thought I would create a Senior's Valentine's card with these fun images. This could also be used for an Anniversary card too. After all, you're never too old to be in love!!!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. for my base at 4.25" x 5.5". I taped down the card onto a glass mat and then used the stencils Flames - Honey Bee Stamps to create the background using various Tim Holtz Distress inks which I have listed below.

I stamped both the images and sentiment using my Misti and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the images using Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut around both images and in between the walkers. The sentiment was also fussy cut and I cut into 2 pieces to fit my design better. I added 2-sided tape to the back of my sentiments and then attached them to a small piece of Martha Stewart Crafts - Enchanted Woodland paper. Ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then fussy cut around the sentiment again. I found the white too bright when I added it to the card, so I used Copic Y11 to give it some colour.

For the main images, once coloured, I ran both of them through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered them directly to the base. I used my Cuttlebug to cut some hearts out of Martha Stewart Crafts - Enchanted Woodland paper using Sizzix Framelets - Hearts Dotted die. Then I ran them through my Xyron Create a Sticker to change them into stickers and placed them directly onto the base. For the few spots on the images that I didn't fussy cut, I used Copic markers YR23, YR16 and YR15 to fill in the white spaces.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Walker Walter - TLF013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Walker Winnie - TLF012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: Light My Fire - F154 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Barn Door, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fired Brick, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wild Honey, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Carved Pumpkin

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Martha Stewart Crafts - Enchanted Woodland 12" x 12", Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb.

Die Cuts: Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard - 562676 - Hearts Dotted

Stencil: Flames - Honey Bee Stamps

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, Xyron Creative Station, Xyron Create a Sticker

Swinging Birthday!

Hi!
We have lots of friends and couples in our subdivision that love to golf! So "Swinging Sherry" and "Retired Raymond" from High Hope Stamps make the perfect birthday card to add to my stash!
I started my card by stamping my images and the "Swinging Birthday" sentiment onto Copic friendly paper. Next I coloured in the images with my Copic markers and then cut them out using my Brother Cut N Scan machine. Today's papers are from the Doodlebug "Sweet Sumer" 6x6 collection. It was kind of a dull day today, so these fun bright papers cheered me up! I added polka dots to Sherry's skirt and plaid to Raymond's pants and hat using my markers. I decided to cut the "Swinging Birthday" sentiment in half so I could place it the way that I did. I created the sky background using a MFT Cloud Stencil and some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. Some stitched hills and a flag completed my "golf" scene.
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E21, E95, R20
Hair: E31, E35, E37/ C5, C7

Laydie Buggie's Brush

Howdy - MichelleO here today - I Love this sweet image from High Hopes Stamps "Laydie Buggie's Brush" is a sweet little Ladybug with one large paintbrush!

Why is that I feel that a ladybug image must have a totally Red and Black theme? I found a piece of red and white paper from Paper Studio and then red and black card stocks to use as card base and mats. I colored with my Copics (colors below). My layers are sewn down with both straight and zig zag stitches. For a sentiment I went with High Hopes Stamps "Raggedy's Birthday" Love the cursive in this font. I punched out the sentiment with an EK Success punch and then outlined with black to give a matted look. Then to finish off the card I added three black enamel dots. Cuz you have to add at least a few polka dots when you are using a Ladybug image right?

 Copic colors used -

Hope you enjoyed! For LOTS and LOTS of fun fabulous image you just need to click HERE to pop over to High Hopes Stamps and get lost in so much happiness!

Thanks!

Miss You Gnome

I miss being able to have a spontaneous road trip where I just hop in my truck and head to a friends house for coffee and a chat. I have been mailing out more cards than I normally do through this time because I want to not only keep in touch with my friends and family, but I am also hoping to share a smile too!

"Sweetheart Gnome" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is perfect for a thinking of you, love you, miss you or birthday card. Now I just have to decide who needs a hug and smile in a card and get this in the mail!

I stamped this cutie with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and added the Miss You sentiment from the Mini Sentiment Set #1. I coloured her with Copic markers,  hand fussy cut her and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. Patterned paper from a couple of old Bo Bunny collections was cut to fit my A2 size card base. All of the paper edges are inked with antique linen distress ink to make them stand out.
Next I cut some vines and a pleated lace circle using matching cardstock and added them to my design. Some tiny glittery flowers, ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Hoppy Valentine's Day

It’s Wednesday, and this week I'm sharing a Valentine's Card featuring Bunny Love - S054 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Hoppy Valentines - F092 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Love this adorable image and it can be used for so many different occasions, Valentine's, which I've used here, Easter or even for an Anniversary card.

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the main image with Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut around it. The sentiment was die cut using Whimsy Stamps - Quick Strips Die Set - WSD330.

To create the base I began with AC Cardstock - Christmas (6" x 6"). Then I die cut K&Company - Kelly Panacci - KP Valentine - 30-599338 paper using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. For the smaller heart, I used K&Company - Kelly Panacci - KP Valentine - 30-599345 paper and Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard - 562676 - Hearts Dotted dies. I also used the same dies to cut the larger heart using Recollections - Christmas Noel paper. I inked around all of the cut images with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Aged Mahagony and also Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Barn Door.

To assemble the card, the large square was attached directly to the base using double side tape. All of the remaining layers were popped up using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.

I stamped Luigi onto some Copic friendly paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then using my Copic markers, I coloured in Luigi. I used my Brother Cut N Scan to cut Luigi out and made a matching red layer behind him. The papers are form the My Minds Eye "Filled With Love" (an oldie) 6x6 collection. Some die cute hearts behind the image, fit the Valentine/Love theme.
