Snuggles

I decided to challenge myself to use a stamp for a card in a non traditional way. When I saw the Snuggles and Cuddles stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps I immediately thought Mother's Day even though this isn't necessarily a traditional Mother's Day stamp. I am blessed to have my Mom close by and there is nothing like being able to drop in for a visit.... which always includes a hug or two <smile>

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured up this adorable stamp with Copic markers and cut it out using a label die. The die had a scalloped edge on top but I decided to remove the scallops as they just didn't feel right. I cut card stock to go behind it and decided to tilt it slightly to create some interest on the card. It was pretty plain so I used a small heart die to cut out three hearts down the side. I added some even smaller hearts in the middle just for fun. I cut a piece of patterned paper from an old Kaisercraft pad to fit the 5" x 5" base and used the cut off piece to go across the middle.

The sentiment was stamped, cut out with an oval die and put on matching card stock. The white edges on the patterned paper and sentiment were inked with Antique Linen Oxide Distress Ink to help the layers stand out. Some heart cut outs in the corner, ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Monday Makes - Let's Do Easter Week 2

 Happy Monday HH Fans!

I'm back for another week of "Monday Makes", so happy you popped by!

This week I'm sharing our way too cute Chopper's Easter Gift.  This little guy has been on my radar to colour for a long time.  I have paired Chopper's with Hoppy Easter...because...he is on springs of course lol.

I went with some pretty muted colours on this image & kept the layout quite simple.  With a few minor changes this would also make the perfect masculine card.  I like images that are different & this little guy sure fits the bill.

St. Patrick's Day Coming Soon - Meet Oliver

 Happy Sunday HH Fans!

I didn't realize until the other day that St. Patrick's Day is coming up fast.  I have a couple of Irish friends so I wanted to get going on a couple of cards for them.  I still have at least one more to do.

Let me introduce our awesome bag piper, his name is Oliver.

I went through my entire stash of patterned paper, yes all of it & I could not find my pad of St. Patrick's Day paper.  So I had to do some thinking & improvising.  I came up with My Memory Box Woodsy Plaid, hoping you think I made this work ok.

Friendship

This week on my blog I am celebrating friendship. Friends come in all shapes and sizes and "Fish Kiss" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps was perfect for my card.

This inspiration for this card came from a young man in my life who has an amazing relationship and friendship with his grand parents. He will drop everything to come and help them if they need it and when he has good news or bad, they are often one of the first people he talks to and tells. He is an amazing young man and doesn't expect any more then a thank you from them when he has done something for them......or a good home cooked meal <smile>. I hope you enjoy my card and appreciate the friends you have in your life as much as I do.

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the image. I ran a black marker around the outside to get any white I had missed. A combination of patterned paper from Honey Bee and Mintay were cut to fit my 5" x 5" card base. To create the scene in the middle, I cut some trees and "snow banks" with a die cuts and added some blue toned paper to look like ice for the fish. The sentiment was stamped, cut and mounted on matching card stock and the twine I put across the bottom. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Monday Makes - Let's Do Easter!

Happy Monday HH Fans!

I'm filling in for our dear MichelleO for the next little while.  Michelle is on a much needed break....I miss her already!

I thought it would be fun to do a little thing called "Monday Makes"....why you ask....well I just thought it sounded kind of inspirational lol.  For the next few Monday's I will showcase some of my Easter cards that I will be sending out this year.

First up is our sweet image called Bunny with Tulip which I have paired with Some Bunny for the sentiment.  My Mom's favorite flower was the Tulip and each time I see them it brings back memories of Mom.  I happen to love tulips too & really wish the squirrels would stop stealing my bulbs & planting them in my neighbors gardens.  At least someone gets to enjoy them lol.

The Some Bunny sentiment comes with a lovely border around it....but.....I cut it off.  Why?  Well it didn't fit my card properly  I think it's kind of cool if you can use something in different ways anyway.

Better Quickly

I seem to have a lot of people around me who are sick, not feeling well or have had surgery. I myself haven't been feeling well for about 10 days so I thought I would make myself a get well card.....just kidding! I decided one of my family and friends who aren't feeling well needed a card featuring Sick Bird from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

After stamping and colouring with Copic markers, I hand fussy cut the stamp leaving a thin white line. The patterned paper I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs as I wanted a soft yellow - to me yellow is comforting when you aren't feeling well. I cut the paper to fit my 5" x 5" base and to fit the design I had in mind. The sentiment was stamped and glued down on some matching card stock and added to the card. I added some flowers from my stash, some ribbon and a bow and glitter dots to finish off my card.

Vintage Classic

Howdy - MichelleO here and this week for High Hopes Stamps I went for a bit of manly theme. I needed a birthday card for a guy and this car worked out perfectly.

My image is Vintage Classic from High Hopes Stamps - Needed to have a spicy red car for this one!

Digging through some older papers I found a pad of Teresa Collins World Traveler papers. Love the old maps with the car! I sewed down with a very fast wobbling stitch onto the papers in layers. It isn't easy sewing like a fast driver and not straight! LOL

The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps - "Live Life at full Throttle" PERFECT sentiment for this image and the guy! I punched the sentiment out with a tag punch, then added a brad.

Copic colors used -

Was a fun card to color up and make and hope it will bring a smile to the friend!

Here's The Scoop!

I love to have cards in my stash that I can just grab, address and send to a friend or family member who might need a pick me up. I also like having thank you cards at the ready and this week I made a non traditional thank you card featuring "L'il Frosty" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. We all need to feel appreciated and I think this is a fun way to say thank you to someone who has gone over and above for me.

I stamped the image, coloured it with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it. I ran a black marker around the edge when I was done cutting to get any white I may have missed. Patterned paper from Lawn Fawn was cut to fit the 4.5" x 5.5" base I had created so I cut the striped paper to fit. Next I cut some matching paper and card stock with fish tail banner dies to put behind the stamp and layered them. I stamped and cut out the sentiments, put them on matching card stock and glued them on two different parts of the card. The stamp is popped up with foam pop dots and enamel dots finish off my card.
