On Sunday the weather was cold, rainy and grey so I headed to my craft room for some colouring. I wanted to colour something that made me smile and brightened my day. I went through some images I had stamped and keep in a future colouring folder and found "Bluebird" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. A perfect stamp to colour on a dreary day and make a card to add to my birthday card stash.
I coloured this cute bird with Copic markers after stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper. When the colouring was done, I cut it out with a rectangle die. Then, I took a circle die, put over top of the space I wanted it to surround and traced the inside of the die with a pencil. Next, I grabbed my exacto knife and fussy cut around everything on the inside of the circle. Yes I questioned my sanity after starting but at that point I was committed.
After the cutting was done, I found some patterned paper from Echo Park and my stash that were perfect for my 5.5" x 5.5" card design. The frame around the edge of the stamped image was created by taking two larger rectangle dies, laying them inside each other, taping them down and running them through my die cut machine. The sentiment is from a larger stamp that I masked off to get the part of the sentiment I wanted and ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.
