Fairy Garden

If April showers bring May flowers and fairies make a garden grow, then we should be all set in my neighbourhood.
We had a very wet April and May is starting out the same so that is sure to bring flowers. My neighbour and I also joke about having a garden fairy as my roses always do well when I really don't do anything with them and she has plants growing that haven't come up for years. We call our garden fairy Hilda who used to live in my neighbours home and had a way with plants <wink>

I decided "Lilly The Spring Fairy" is a fun way to pay tribute to our garden fairy "Hilda".

I coloured Lilly with alcohol markers, Prisma pencils for some shading, Nuvo Glitter drops for her wings and hand fussy cut her. I set her aside and created my background by blending inks from Stampin' Up and Ranger Distress Ink. I spritzed some water to help create a magical feel and added some Frantage around the edge. Next I cut out my heart flower border die and added some Frantage to some of the flowers to tie my card together. Some matching ribbon and hearts finish off my card.

Flutter'in By!

Hi HH Fans!
I'm so happy you stopped by today! Meet the adorable "Lynne Angel" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps! This little cutie just melts my heart! I just picture her fluttering through the sky chasing those pretty butterflies! I bet if you look real close you might even find her in your garden!
Since I pictured her fluttering about, I knew she had to have a cloud background. I started by stamping and colouring my image. Then I masked her off using some Post-it Tape and started to make the background. I used Distress inks and the MFT Mini Cloud Stencil. I decided she needed a fun colourful sky and used inks to match my Designer Paper from the Echo Park "I am Mom" 6x6 collection. I added some ribbon, a bow, enamel dots and glitter pen to her wings to finish everything off.
I used more Designer Paper and the High Hopes "Flutter'in By" sentiment on the inside.
Copics Used:

Birthday flowers

Happy Sunday!

Today I've got a cute Pig Party Birthday Flowers card!
I like the way he's holding the flowers like a bouquet! Can you imagine him standing there wishing Mrs. Pig a happy birthday??
I've used the round die and the grass dies to create a scene card. The background is made with Echo Park dessinpapers. Just added a few flowers in the corner too.

To make this card, I've used:
*High Hopes Rubber Stamps: Pig Party and Happy Birthday block sentiment
*Bazzill Basics cardstock: white, red, blue and green
*Echo Park dessinpaper
*Uniquely Creative round die and grass border die
*Wild Orchid Flowers
*other: Pergaglue, foam tape, My Favorite Things black ink, Copic Paper

Kitty by the Birdhouse!

Hello friends! It's Lindsay again. I'm back to share another card featuring the adorable Kitty by Birdhouses stamp by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. As soon as I saw this stamp it totally reminded me of my kitty, so you better believe I colored it in to look just like my kitty Tenaya!

I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color this image. Here are the colors I used:

Kitty: cadmium orange hue, yellowed orange, & sunburst yellow; Nose: peach
Left birdhouse: cobalt turquoise, aquamarine, & light aqua; Roof: jasmine & sand; Accents: peach
Right birdhouse: crimson red, scarlet lake, & poppy red; Roof: sienna brown & burnt ochre Accents: peach
Fence and 4 Rent sign: sienna brown & burnt ochre
Flowers - Pink: peach & deco pink; Blue: true blue &electric blue; Red: crimson red & poppy red
Stems and leaves: dark green, kelly green, sap green light, & pale sage
Soil: chocolate, sienna brown, & burnt ochre
Flower pot: jasmine & sand
Base: dark green, kelly green & sap green light
Lady bug: scarlet lake

To create the birdhouse card base, I used a rectangle die and a technique called partial die cutting. Basically, I lined up the die on my folded card base just how I wanted the top to be cut (with that scalloped point at the top).

But since I only wanted the topmost point cut and not everything else, when I put the piece into my die cutting machine, I only laid the top cutting plate over the die where I wanted it cut.

Then, because there wasn't a top cutting plate on the rest of the card, that part isn't cut by the machine. Cool, huh?!

I love using my dies in creative ways to get different results and get the most out of my supplies that I can. To complete the card, I just added some polka dot paper, a bow, and stamped the sentiment.  I think it turned out just lovely!

Fisherman Fred

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have a fun "Man" card this week for High Hopes Stamps. I just love this image "Fisherman Fred" and his tiny little fish!

Isn't he adorable! I colored with my Copics (colors below) matching up to to pattern papers from Authentique Cuddle Boy collection. I sewed the layers down with a loose zig zag stitch. The sentiment from the Sentiment Set #1 - love that this set has multiple sentiments for the sporting cards. A few enamel dots for additional fun.

Copic colors -

Love it when a guy card comes together and makes me happy. Guy cards are tough sometimes. And there are so many great guy images that just are perfect for that man in your life.

Springtime Joy!

Hi HH Followers!
Today I wanted to share a cute and fun card with you! This is the adorable High Hopes "Hoppy Froggy Flower", and he's got a flower just for you!
I coloured my frog with my Copic Markers and then using a terry washcloth and Copic Blending Solution, dabbed at the image to create some texture. I had an extra background from my "Shadow Box Card" post and it came in handy for this card. I stamped the HH "Springtime Joy" sentiment directly on the cloud background.  I added some Stickles to the "warts" on the frog and the flower middle for a fun  look! And doesn't he look adorable with his little "goggly eyes?!!
I decided to mount my fussy cut image on an action wobble for an interactive fun element!
Click play to see the wobble in action.

Froggy: G28, G46, YG17, YG21, YG23
Flower: RV25, RV29, Y32, Y35, G24, G28

*High Hopes Rubber Stamps: Willy One Eye
*Bazzill basics cardstock: kraft and blue
*background kraft paper from a cookie box (hahahaha!)
*dessinpapers from Scrapdelight (a Dutch brand)
*embellishments from the same kit from Scrapdelight
