Batty Boo

Howdy - and Boo!

This week for High Hopes Stamps I went for a simple but fun Halloween image. "Batty Boo" -

Can a bat be cute? This guy is - and I love those letters that make up "BOO" - I colored with my Copics (colors below) and really colored in that sky background. I have a hard time getting it "even" and not showing the coloring lines when doing some colors in such a large space. But I think it ended up ok.

For my card I started out with a black card stock base. Found some dark red and yellow cards stock to match up with my image and then a few patterns from Paper Studio. I sewed down the layers and added that Martha Stewart Dripping border punch. It was on my desk from my last card and well... it just feels right for a Halloween card! Then I pulled out Nuvo Yellow pearl and added some studs along the border. And to finish it off Ranger Stickles on the middle "o" - just needed a little sparkle.

This one kind of pops - the colors on all that black - I like that!

BOO..........

Hi HH Fans;

For this month the DT Divas are sharing Fall and Halloween cards.  For today's card, I have used the cute Batty Boo along with the Zig Zag Frame from High Hopes Stamps.   Now, here is the thing -- my cards are 95% of the time CAS.  Since  I went a little outside of my comfort zone, I had a bit of a challenge.

After stamping both images on Copic XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured them with Copic Markers.   Batty Boo wasn't too difficult to fuzzy cut, now the Zig Zag Frame was another whole story.  Not only the outside border was cut, but also the inside area.  I was holding my breath hoping the scissors didn't slip and cut into the main frame -- this is where I'm thinking a ScanNCut might have been helpful, lol!  Once the frame was cut to my satisfaction, I trimmed a piece of the Bewitched Design Paper from Echo Park to fit the back of the frame.  It is hard to see but there are some clouds and stars on the design papers.

Batty Boo Tag

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

Happy Saturday Friends!  I am excited to share a Halloween Treat Bag Tag with you today...
 Lisa

This is Batty Boo (P126).  What a great image for Halloween!

The image was stamped on watercolor cardstock using my Misti Stamping Tool with a Versamark Ink Pad and heated with black embossing powder.  The image was coloured with Tombow Markers and water.  Once the colouring was finished and dry, Glossy Accents were applied on the bat's wings and nose.  After the gloss was dry, the image was cut down to size and some SU Chocolate Chip ink was sponged on the edges.

For the tag base, I chose a piece of designer paper from Simple Stories-Take A Hike 6x6 Paper Pad.  The edges on both the image and the background were punched with different corner punches. To complete this tag, a bunch of brown YNS gumdrops and ribbon were added.
