Bubble Your Troubles

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I don't know about you but after "one of those days" at work or after doing a trade show there is nothing like going home to a hot bubble bath!
My favourite bubble bath of all time was called Chocolate Fudge Sundae - the whole top floor of my house smelled like chocolate! Unfortunately they don't make it anymore - had I known that I would have bought a case or two!

Our challenge theme this month is Anything Spring - so I think Burt having a bubble bath in a bird bath after a spring rain is fitting don't you?

My layout is based on this month's challenge sketch (below) but sized for an A2 (4.25"w x 5.5"h) sized card - just to challenge myself a little.

Burt was coloured with alcohol markers and then using my corner rounder punch - yes I had to dust that one off! the corners were rounded and added to cardstock. He is popped up using some pop dots to add some dimension.

The sentiment was created on my computer. Some sparkly Stickles were added to all the bubbles (kinda hard to see in the photo). Some ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Burt's Bath

Hello High Hopes Fans

TGIF!!!  The weekend is almost here and I am thrilled to share with you another card I recently made, using some adorable High Hopes Stamps!
Jane

Inside of Card

This is Burt's Bath (R103), It's Your Day (G036), part of sentiment from Swinging Birthday (H191) and Chilax Sentiment.  These stamps are so fun to use!!!

I coloured Burt with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to the all the bubbles in the bath, along with some yellow stickles to the centres of the flowers on Burt's shower cap.  Some navy blue ink was sponged lightly around the edges of the image, after it was die cut using a Spellbinders - circle die.  A piece of navy cardstock was die cut using the Spellbinders - Petite Scalloped Circle Die to layer the image.  The sentiment on the outside of the card was heat embossed with navy blue embossing powder. I used a 3/4" & 1" circle punch to punch out the bubbles(circle) for each word.  Each of the 3 circles were then placed in a Tim Holtz - Bubbles Embossing Folder to add some texture.  A white gel pen was applied to accent the bubble like circles, to help create more depth on the card.  Foam tape was used to adhere the sentiment and add some dimension.

For the inside of the card, the sentiment was heat embossed using white embossing powder, on navy cardstock.  It was then cut out with a 1 1/4" circle punch.  Two additional navy blue circles were punched using a 3/4" and 1" circle punch.  The white gel pen was again used to add some accents on all of the bubbles.  Glue Dots were used to adhere the bubbles on the inside of this card, in order for the card to remain flat and to be able to close it completely.  The additional " Happy Birthday" sentiment - which is only part of the Swinging Birthday stamp was inked and stamped with navy ink.
