Celebrate the Magic of Christmas!

 Happy Tuesday HH fans!

Christmas will be here before you know it....sorry just had to put that out there.  I'm continuing on my little journey to get as many cards done for the season as I can.  I don't want to get to December & kick myself for not working on them sooner lol.

This week I have one of my favourites to share, this is Hope for Peace Snowy.  I coloured this cutie up with my Prisma pencils, again while I was away in the Yukon in June.  I paired this with our sentiment called Magic of Christmas because Christmas is magical to me.

Instead of leaving the bird white (for a dove) I went with a red Cardinal.  Cardinals remind me of my Mom who past a few years ago.

Even though I didn't have the best cardstock for colouring with pencils with me I think this turned pretty decent.

Hope you enjoyed today's card & thanks for popping by!

Happy stampin'!

Snow Sweet Christmas

My Mom loves snowmen. She had a large collection of them but had to downsize it last year when they moved in to a smaller home. It was hard on her but I have decided that I will start a new snowman collection for her.......in the form of cards! They don't take up much room - I know she keeps my cards <wink> and if I make her a snowman card each Christmas, she will be adding to her collection. Shhhh, don't tell her - this will be our little secret okay?

This year I decided to use "Snow Sweet Snowlady" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps for Mom's card. I think she is adorable! and I know Mom too and she loves turquoise so hopefully she will love this card.

I stamped this adorable snow lady on to alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured her with Copic markers and hand fussy cut her. I added some dots to her cheeks with a white gel pen, some clear sparkle pen to her poinsettia and some silver Wink of Stella to her hat band, the centre of the poinsettia and the centre of her candy buttons. I added the silver to bring out the silver in the patterned paper I used from Stampin' Up - what looks grey on the paper is actually shiny silver.

After cutting the snowflake paper to fit the A2 size card base, I laid a snowflake border die on the left edge of the card and cut it out. Next, I die cut the same snowflake border out of silver glitter paper and in laid it on the card. Then came the challenging part........putting all the tiny stripe pieces on to the left side of the card - a puzzle for sure! I haven't mastered photographing a card with glitter paper on it but it is very sparkly in real life.

I used a simple wavy border die to cut a few snow banks to put behind the stamp to ground her, stamped the sentiment and added a few matching enamel dots to finish off the card.

Christmas Magic

The most wonderful, magical time of year is just around the corner and I am celebrating this magical time with Santa In Chimney from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

Only the magic of Christmas could help Santa fit in a chimney that is way too small, help reindeer fly and get the presents delivered in one night all over the world. It's all magic!

I stamped Santa, coloured him with Copics and hand fussy cut him and popped him up with foam dots. Stickles were added to his hat and coat trim for a touch of bling. The background is created with patterned paper from Carta Bella, a house die from Gina Marie designs and  a stitched hills die. I used a star dangle stencil to add a magical feel. This didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to because I used Stickles to add the bling and some of the squished and ran together ....but hey - it's magic <wink> and anything can happen! The sentiment was stamped and added to some matching card stock and ribbon and glitter enamel dots finish off my card.

Lg. Stackable Santa

Howdy - MichelleO here today and today I have a fun card for you - How can you not grin at this fun Santa from High Hopes Stamps? This is Lg. Stackable Santa ... and he is just well... FUN!

I colored Santa with my Copics and thought.. I want him to pop on this card.. then thought well lets just make him pop off the card! So I cut out Santa and then folded a small piece of card stock in a zig zag fold and attached to the card. And man he jumps and wiggles on this card! LOVE that! I added some Nuvo Sparkle pen to his suit cuz we all know Santa sparkles!

For my Sentiment I used High Hopes Stamps "Celebrate the Magic of Christmas"  Perfect for this bouncing Santa!

My papers are from My Minds Eye that I have sewn the layers together with a zig zag stitch. The unusual colors really make this Santa bold and bright and POP on this card!

Copic colors used -

A Clean and Simple card that really does make you smile when that Santa does a little wiggle! For more fabulous Christmas images for your cards this year jump on over to the web site store HERE

The Magic Of Christmas

This week I am having some fun with the Three Pane Christmas stamp from High Hopes. I love the cute Santa, Reindeer and Snowman - there smiles are contagious aren't they?
Christmas is a magical time and it will be fun to give this card to someone on my card giving list!

After stamping this adorable trio I coloured them with alcohol markers and added some bling to Santa's hat with Stickles. Next I cut the pleated circle die for the background and cut it in half. The stamp fit perfectly across the middle of the die but I wanted the circle to be a little bit smaller. From there, I stamped the sentiment and held my breath as I cut it in half. All of the paper and the circle die are edged with antique linen distress ink to give them a little extra pop.
I added some snowflakes and crystals to add what I am hoping is a bit of a magical feel. Some twine finishes off my card.
