Meet Gavin the Givin' Dragon!

 Happy Saturday HH fans!

I'm getting a late start to my Saturday morning today.  I'm feeling a little lazy today but that's okay it's Saturday, right!

Today I have a 2 card post for you using our adorable image called Gavin the Givin' Dragon.  Lately I have wanted to create 2 cards with some images - one for a boy & one for a girl.  It sure does save me time to make them both at once & it really helps my stash too.

This pic shows them both together.  To me they look totally different even though they are the same image.  I left off the ribbon on the boy's card but couldn't help adding a few enamel dots.  I used the Happy Birthday Script for the gals card (one of my FAV Happy Birthday sentiments) & I used part of the Swinging Birthday sentiment for the boy's card.  I got the idea to use parts of sentiments from my friend Donna...she is a master at that.  It really is a great idea to make more out of your sentiment collection.

It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of purple...actually it's my favourite colour.  I really loved it paired with the orange.

Next up is my boy's version.  So I used some dinosaur paper on this one, I didn't have any dragon paper.  But can you really notice the difference?  I suppose you can but I liked it anyway.

Laurie's Garden Angel

 Happy Monday HH fans!

Today I have Laurie's Garden Angel to share with you.  At first when I looked at colouring up this image I was like....this is going to take a while...but I challenged myself & dove right in.  I'm so glad that I did because I loved every minute of colouring this one.  I did the colouring in chunks.  What does that mean?  Well rather than looking at it as a daunting task, I looked and said I'm going to colour this little part.  Before I knew it I was all done.  I was a little sad it was complete because I wanted to keep colouring lol.

My list of colours for this beauty is looooong but don't let that scare you...remember colour in chunks!

Here's Huggable Hank

 Happy Friday HH fans!

Today I'm poppin' to share our oh so cute Huggable Hank.

I couldn't seem to settle on what colours I wanted to use for this cutie so I did 2 versions.  I fussy cut out both my images BUT you don't have to.  You can just make your background of clouds on the cardstock you used to colour your image.

I used a cloud die & cut out a couple different sizes of cardstock to make some clouds for the background.  I then cut out some balloons & used the same pieces of cardstock clouds to create the effect on the balloons as well.
Inking up the clouds was easy & fun, it just takes a little bit of patience.  For the blue I chose Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

Copic Combos - For the blue dragon
Blue - B18, B14, B12, B16
Green - YG17, YG13, YG11
Toes, Nails & Horns - C6, C4, C2, C1

Since I didn't have the right colour of twine I decided to ink up my own.  I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink & a dauber.  A little messy but totally worth it.

I used Happy Birthday Script for both cards but I cut one of them up for a little different placement.

Copic Combos - For the purple/pink dragon
Purple - V09, V06, V05, V04
Pink - RV19, RV17, RV14

Puppy Birthday Time

 Happy Monday HH Fans!

We are opening the Retirement Vault again today to bring back Puppy Love.  Now who doesn't love an adorable puppy?!

I wanted to create something a little brighter for this card, it snowed here on Friday and it made me kinda grumpy.  So to brighten my spirits I picked Puppy Love to colour up & share with all of you.  It's hard to believe that it's Spring & we have snow here....gosh what is Mother Nature thinking?

I love that you can't see this puppy's eyes it makes me wonder when the fun chase is going to start with that cute little bird.  Or is he thinking let's be bad together?

It's been a while...I missed you all!

 Happy Friday Friends,

I've been away from creating cards for a while, I'm happy to be back.  I haven't had a lot of time to do my own creating because here at High Hopes we have been working on getting new releases ready & getting all your orders shipped out.  But, I decided to take a little me time to make some cards.  This masculine themed card idea came about when I was coloring the image, which by the way is called "Fishing Shack", for the website.  My son is HUGE into fishing & so are several of his friends...not sure who's getting this card yet but one of them will.  I paired the Fishing Shack with a nice Happy Birthday sentiment.

I used a very masculine Memory Box 6 x 6 pad called "Woodsy Plaid"....I absolutely love this paper.  It's a 2021 pad so you can probably still find it...worth the effort to look for it.  I also used a YNS stitched rectangle dies & Gina Marie double stitched rectangle die.  I added some twine & a few buttons for dimension.
