Bella Bear Camping!

 Happy Tuesday!
There's another Re-Release over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! Lora has opened the vault and the "Thoughts Of Spring With Friends" has come out of retirement. Soooo many cuties, you just have to visit the website and take a little look see! This is the adorable "Bella Bear Camping" image! Looks like her map lead her to the right campsite! This month I've challenged myself to use my Silhouette Cameo and make some sort of pop up card. That poor machine just sits there and I seldom use it. I thought it was high time it got a little action.
To begin, I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured Bella in with my Copic Sketch Markers. Then using my Brother Cut N Scan I cut out the image leaving a small white border. Next using a "Pop Up Hexagon Tent sag file, I set about cutting out all the parts to the card. This file is really easy to assemble and looks so cute with Bella in front of it. I thought the HH sentiment called "New Adventure" was perfect and added it to an inked edge cloud die cut.
Here's a side view where you can see the different layers pop into slits. I've used designer papers from the Doodlebug "Land That I Love" and "Puppy Love" 6x6 collections. The card folds flat for mailing and fits with my theme this month of Pop Up cards.
Here's a short video showing the card in action.
This pictures shows the card laying flat, perfect for mailing!

It's Time

I have a lot of "men" in my life that I need cards for. One of those men is my younger brother who got a new "toy" last year. He doesn't drive it a whole lot but it has a ton of horse power and when he took me for a ride it didn't take much to set me back in the seat.......I loved it!!! This new car opened up an opportunity for my brother and nephew to go to a driving school to learn exactly what the car is capable of. They were just there last week so I haven't heard how things went....but there have been a video and photos posted and it looked like they had an amazing time.

The new car and the opportunity it has brought to my brother were the inspiration for my card featuring "Sports Car 1" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I am sure that last week was just the beginning of a number of adventures!

I decided to do a mini slim line style card because I really wanted to use my licence plate die with this car. I measured the die, cut a card base and rounded the corners with a corner rounder. I set that aside, stamped the car, coloured it with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it. I wanted to have a racing theme for my card so I used patterned paper from the Cartopia pad from Carta Bella.

I had the 6x6 paper pad and a 12x12 piece so I cut some of the flags out of the larger paper to put in the bottom corner. I cut three black strips of paper, trimmed off the end to put under the car to "ground" it and glued the car on top. All the paper edges are inked with Black Soot Distress ink and I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment in the corner.
I will probably give this to my brother or nephew for their birthday so will stamp a Happy Birthday sentiment inside before I give it to one of them...shhhh.

A New Adventure

I have a little man in my life who makes me smile and keeps me young! I met him a couple days after he was born and this adorable, strong little man is growing fast. He is a typical boy - loves anything with wheels, biking and jumping on the trampoline. I do have to admit he is a little hard to keep up with <wink>

Fire Truck from the vault opening and the "Mix It Up" release at High Hopes reminds me of this little guy because ... well.....it has wheels! The New Adventure sentiment reminds me of him because I don't know how, but in September he is old enough to start school! Not sure how the little's in our lives always grow so fast. This card was made for him for his first day of school as his new adventure begins....

After stamping the fire truck I coloured it with Copic Markers, hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. After setting him aside I chose some patterned paper from a Christmas Photo Play pad and matching card stock. Next I found some lighter grey card stock in my scrap pieces bin and cut it to fit my card base.
I created the "fire station" by inking up a brick stencil with London Fog Memento ink and cut the doors out using a square die. To add some texture to the doors, I used my score board to add some lines to them. I printed the Fire Station #2 from my computer, stamped the sentiment and cut it to size.
The fire station sign, sentiment and fire truck are added with 3D foam pop dots to add some dimension. Twine and enamel dots finish off my card.
