Christmas Break

Hello High Hopes Fans!!

Click here for our current challenge

First off, we are going through a little change here at High Hopes...
Nothing major. Just a little name change.
Karen felt that the Design Team is just too talented and too sweet to be called "Divas"!
The team is not made up of "prima donnas" who have to get their way!!

Therefore, effective immediately, the awesome and amazing High Hopes Design Team are now known as the High Hopes' Dream Team!!
Yes. I think so!!

Ok, now on to the challenge...
The Anything Goes Challenge was supposed to end today and was going to be the last challenge of the year. However, we decided to keep the challenge open through the New Year so that anyone who wants to play along over the Holidays has a challenge to enter!!

Just remember that you still need to use a High Hopes stamp to enter the challenges.

And we will be back after the New Year with a new release, too!! :-)

In the mean time, we still have some inspiration for you from the fabulously talented

Happy stamping!!

Gift Box Tutorial by Aaemie

Hello High Hops fans!!

Click here for our current challenge

It is Tuesday Tutorial Time!!
The wonderful Aaemie has created a fun Gift Box Tutorial for you.
And here she is...

Hi everyone! Christmas is fast approaching so I thought a gift box would be a perfect tutorial. A nice little handmade gift can sometimes
be more special than a purchased gift, especially when filled with
chocolate treats. Have fun and enjoy!

-Start off with a 5″x 12″ thick double sided pattern paper(I used
paper from Authentique’s Peaceful collection)
-Score at 1″, 4″ (on the 5″ side)
-Turn paper and score at 1″, 5″, 6.5″, 10.5″ (on the 12" side)

(click on photos for larger view)

-Refer to the template and make cuts, tabs & folds at marked
areas.(This is by far the most complex part so take time here.)
-The sides of the top of the box will only have a 0.5 cm lip to create
the peek-a-boo effect.

-I used a spellbinders insert and edge dies to create the 2, 4 inch
long decorative edges with coordinating cardstock. (You can also use a
border punch.)

-Use adhesive on the top of the edge and place on ribbon, trim and
attach to the side of the box with scorepal tape. Repeat for the
other side.

-I used a spellbinders damask accents die to embellish the front lip
on the box, added a button and two small brads.(You may just add a
button)

Outside of Box
-I decorated the top of the box with flowers(using a fast drying
glue), rhinestones, a decorative brad and pearl pen. Then I used a
corner rounder and rounded the front lip on the box.

Inside of Box
-I coloured, fussy cut and placed my image and sentiment, which were
raised with foam squares. Finally fill your beautiful box with some
sweet treats!

I used the new Waddlin' By on the inside.

We hope you like our tutorial!!
If you use the tutorial, please let us know - we would love to see it!!
