Find Joy in the Journey...

Welcome HH Fans;

Now that summer is here, school is out and it is time to go on an excursion and find joy in the journey.

For today's card I have used Ron's Royce from High Hopes Stamps latest release called "Modes of Transportation".

Instead of using design paper, I created my own using the GoPress and Foil machine along with a Hot Foil Stamp, an embossing folder and heat activated foil.

The GoPress and Foil machine is used along with your die cutting machine.  It is the pressure from the die cutting machine that will help add the foil which is heated on the GoPress machine first.  The Introduction to GoPress and Foil youtube video gives a good overview of its many functions.

The small strip on the left hand side is a hot foil stamp.  The bigger piece on the right hand is an embossing folder. I have seen the embossing folder and GoPress machine used in two different ways.  The first way is to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine first, giving a raised appearance.  The second way, is not to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine which gives it a flat appearance. The embossing folder with the  raised side down, is put on top of some cardstock, which is then put down on top of the foil which is colour side down, which is put on top of a metal shim on top of the GoPress machine platform.

Your Best Miles

I have a couple of nieces and nephews who are old enough to drive and have their own vehicles.
After I get over feeling old, I try to come up with Birthday cards that are unique to each of them. My latest card is for a nephew who is turning 18 in July - Yikes! Hopefully he doesn't have a need for speed like this stamp suggests...hmmm...maybe I should rethink this and the gas card I was going to include with it.......

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to cover any white I had missed.
Paper from Basic Grey and some from my stash were perfect for my masculine themed card. I cut out the licence plate for the background and stamped one of my sentiments directly on it - I see now it's not actually straight but I'm the "crazy aunt" so I decided to leave it just for fun!
The second sentiment is actually one long sentiment but I masked it off to stamp it so I had a stacked sentiment. Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Need For Speed- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Best MilesHappy Birthday Block - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, stash
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Licence plate die - Quickutz, gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

Love Bug

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have been cruising around and love playing with the new Modes of Transportation release at High Hopes Stamps. And today I went on a little Mid Century Vibe...

Here is the new "Love Bug TT147" stamp... love how fun this one is!

I found papers from Die Cuts With a View "Hippie Chic" collection that well... just screamed to be used with the Love Bug stamp. I did some paper piecing and decided that if I was going to have a real Love Bug it would be one of two ways.... either done up to look like Herbie the Love Bug a childhood favorite, or a wild paint job with lots of bling and flowers! And this is just that! This paper has some bling to it so that worked out really well.

Matching up papers from the Hippie Chic collection I layered up the papers after inking the edges with a Copic marker. Added the fabulous sentiment "Crazy" and is a great stamp for me.

Three buttons for embellishment, loved the flower shape.

Was a bit worried that it was too busy, but then Hubby said he liked it and all the patterns was so 60's... Flash back those childhood dresses with 10 different bold flower patterns in bright colors. LOL

So I went with it!

Copic colors used for what wasn't paper pieced.

Now for you to find some fun Modes of Transportation to get away and color up some friends. Click HERE to zip right over to the High Hopes Store!

Thanks so much!

Full Throttle

I hope you have been enjoying the new Modes of Transportation release!

Today I got to sit in the drivers seat and colour up one of the race cars from this release! My hubbie's favourite pastime is to go to the track with his buddy who has a car he races and help him for the day. I am sure this is what he sees as the car flies down the track and I am also sure his buddy is going full throttle!

I coloured up this fun car with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it.
Some bright, matching paper from Scrapberry were perfect for this stamp. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out . Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Super Speed - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Saucy Sam

VroomVroom! I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then found some papers from Authentique that has a bit of that fast fun. I sewed all the layers down with black mats and base. It matched up fabulously with the new "Live Life at full Throttle" sentiment!  I feel the need to say it again... Vroom Vroom! Three black buttons for embellishments -

Copic colors used -

This new release is so much fun... but now I am thinking... how cute would this race car be in pink??? for that special little racing gal in your life! Oh.. now back to the desk to pull out pink!

Friends and A Full Tank!

Hi HH Fans!
Yesterday was the New Release of "Modes of Transportation" stamps over at High Hopes! And what an exciting release it is!! It certainly screams Masculine but I know a lot of women that love their cars as well!
I'm  back today sharing a card I made using the "Ron's Royce" stamp.
I wanted to keep a vintage feel to my card to match the older car image. I'm using paper from the Bo Bunny Mama Razzi2 6x6 collection. I inked all the edges of my papers with Distress ink in Vintage Photo for that vintage feel. The sentiment "Tank of Gas" is also from the New Release. You can't see in the photo but I added Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter pen to the car so the body has that shine to it like a pearlized paint job. A few enamel dots and a bit of twine finish off my card.
Copics Used:
E41, E42, E43
YR24, YR27
C0, C1, C2
W1, W4, W5, W8
B000, B00, B01

A pirates birthday!

Happy Sunday!!

Today is a celebration day for me! My business is celebrating it's 3rd anniversary! But it's a Sunday, so no kids today to celebrate it with ;)
That's why I'd like to show you a kids card today!
The pirate theme is a regular theme her in my daycare, kids just love playing pirates and finding a treasure!

I made the card simple: for the base I've used Kraft cardstock by Bazzill Papers. The wooden dessinpaper is from Studio Light.
Behind Peg Leg Pete you can see a bit of the Treasure Map too.
The sentiment is Dutch and means Happy Birthday.

Normally there's a picture now with my used Copics, but I forgot to take a picture of the Copics I've used..

Thanks for stoppping by!
And be sure to come back tomorrow for the NEW RELEASE stamps!!!! I can tell they are great! And you want to have them all!!!

Have a great day today!

High Hopes Dragon Fun!

Happy Friday! I'm back to share a little card using ...
I plan on using this creation  as a fathers day card.  I think this will get a good laugh
around the dinner table!
The image is coloured with Copic Markers, Pattern paper and embossed background. The image was fussy cut and pop dotted into place.  I added a button and twine and tried not to make this
one too girly.
