Get well

Happy Sunday!

Sometimes you need a Get Well card real quick, so today I'd like to show you how to make a quick card using the Get Well Chick and bandaid stamp:
Stamp the Bandaid all around the base of the card to create a background. You can color the bandaids if you like, for this card I left them uncolored..
Color the Get Well Chick image (or any other image you like) and place the image in the middle of the card. Add some little wooden heart in the corner.
Die-cut a scalloped squire to fit the image in the color you like.

To make this card, I've used:
*High Hopes Rubber Stamps: Get Well chick, bandaid
*Bazzill Basics white and yellow cardstock
*Lawn Fawn scalloped squire die
*little wooden hearts
*Copics used:

Feeling Souper!

Hello friends and fellow High Hope Rubber stampers! I've been having so much fun playing with the stamps from the newest Get Well Soon release. Check out the last two cards I made by clicking either HERE or HERE. Today's card completes my set of three coordinating cards, this one featuring the Chicken Soup and Feel Souper stamps from High Hopes.

I really didn't start out with the intention on making a card set. Like I had mentioned in my last video, I usually never make the same card twice (I get bored too quickly!), but coordinating card sets have opened up a whole new world for me! I get the chance to create multiple cards, but get to do something a little different each time. And I love that!

The red polka dot background I actually had just laying around in my stash. I had stamped and die cut this background for a different project, but ended up not using it for that one, so I just tucked it away. And it just so happened that it was perfect for this card!

I incorporated some elements from the two previous cards (like the striped patterned paper, lacey, scalloped circle, and ribbon). This helps tie the three cards together. And I'm just so happy with how they turned out!

Thank you so much for stopping by the High Hopes blog today! There are many more adorable stamps in the Get Well Soon release that I haven't had a chance yet to play with. Be sure to check them out and pick up your favorites. Enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you next week!

Heard It's Been Ruff

I am having so much fun with the stamps in the new Get Well Soon release!
When I am sick I have the best four legged nurse ever! My dog loves to cuddle with me when I'm sick and he is even more cuddly when he isn't feeling well.
I have numerous friends who's dogs do the same thing for them and some of them, like me suffer from spring colds and allergies.
Sick Puppy is the perfect stamp to make a feel better soon card for one of those friends.

For my card this week I challenged myself to step out of my colour comfort zone. I think we all have our go colours and this week I wanted to show some love to some markers I don't use as often.
I coloured up this cutie with alcohol markers added some shading using Prisma pencils and cut him out using a stitched rectangle die. Paper from Photo Play was perfect for my colour combo and some matching ribbon and shaped sprinkles were the perfect finishing touches. It is hard to see in the photo but I added a bit of sparkle with some silver Wink of Stella to the thermometer just for fun.

We Gnome Best!

Hello HH Fans!
I am absolutely in love with this pair of Gnomes from the new "Get Well" release over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! This is the "Gnoming You Better" red rubber stamp. I don't know about you, but if these two walked in my room I'd be cheered up immediately! They just bring a smile to my face!
I am using paper from an older Pink and Main "Beach Bum" 6x6 collection on today's card. I stamped and coloured the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and cut them out using the Gina Marie "Loopy Squares" die set. I wanted to colour the male Gnome in "hospital greens" and added glitter pen to the red elements and the medical instruments. The "We Gnome Best" sentiment is also from the new "Get Well" collection.
On the inside I used the HH "Stacked Get Well" sentiment and also stamped the "Gnoming You Better" image in the bottom corner with Distress ink in Scattered Straw.

Nurse Kitty - This Won't Hurt A Bit

Hello High Hope Rubber Stampers! I hope you're doing well! Today I'm sharing a card made very much in the same vein as another card I shared earlier this week. I was so smitten with the colors and the different elements I used that I wanted to recreate it, but with a little twist (cuz you know I never make the same card twice)! This card features the Nurse Kitty and Won't Hurt stamps from the newest release - Get Well Soon - by High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

You can watch the card process video below or in full HD on my You Tube channel:

I colored Nurse Kitty with my Copic markers. Here are the colors that I used:

Fur: YR 20, YR 21, YR 23, YR 27, & Colorless Blender
Nose and cheeks: R 20
Bag: N 2, N 4, & N 6
Stethoscope: N 2, N 4, & N 6
Hat: R 29, BG 70, & Colorless Blender
Needle: YR 30 & Colorless Blender

I took this opportunity to practice a more advanced (at least for me!) Copic marker technique - coloring fur. I colored with quick, "flicking" strokes to give this Kitty's fur the appearance of fluffy texture. I did my best so I've very happy with it (plus, I colored it like my own orange tabby cat so she's extra special to me!)

I chose to add some texture in the background with an embossing folder and layered a piece of red and white striped paper over top. For some reason, the bow was really giving me some grief. With enough patience though, I was able to stick it through and eventually tie a bow that I could be happy with.

The Won't Hurt sentiment I heat embossed with white embossing powder on black card stock. But I was thinking though, you could totally change up the sentiment to something like "Congratulations" and give this to someone who's graduated nursing school!

Well, thank you so much for stopping by the HH blog! We love hearing from you, so please leave a comment! I hope you enjoy your weekend, and don't forget to check out the newest Get Well Soon release in the HH shop. Bye!

Get Well Mouse

I have to let you in on a little secret. When I am sick, I have a go to "magic" blanket. I call it magical because being curled up under it always makes me feel better. It might be the weight of it but truthfully I think it is because my Mom made it for me and put a little extra touch of Mom can make anything better in it ;)
I think this sick little mouse is under her favourite blanket too don't you? I'm sure she will feel better before she knows it!

I coloured this sweetie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut her and added some dots to the quilt with a white gel pen. I grabbed some paper from Carta Bella, Lawn Fawn and MME that I thought would all work together to create my card.
The wood grain paper from MME was perfect to create my head and foot board for her bed and the watercolor paper helps bring the lighter shade of purple into my design. A piece of white cardstock cut with a scallop edge and run through a polka dot embossing folder help create my background. Some ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Sick Mouse - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Get Well Soon 2 - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Wood Necessities - MME, Watercolor Wishes - Lawn Fawn, Dots and Stripes - Carta Bella

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, polka dot embossing folder - Cuttlebug, fishtail banner die - YNS, circle die - Spellbinders, ribbon - stash, sparkly gumdrops - YNS

Spectrum Noir Markers: IG1 IG3 IG5 PP1 PP3 PP5 HB1 LV1 HB2 CT1 CT4 GY4

Sick Puppy

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I am so excited ...There is a new release at High Hopes Stamps! And this collection is a "Get Well Soon" collection, perfect for all those in your life with a bit of a cold, flu or boo boo!

My card is with "Sick Puppy" poor little guy!

I think he needs a hug besides the meds, tissues and hot tea! I colored with the Copics (colors below), then I found some papers from Authentique Baby boy Cuddle collection. Matched up with some dark brown card stock for matting I love the patterns in this collection. The patterns are sewn down and then two Spellbinders corner dies for some pops. The new sentiment "Heard It's Been Ruff" is just perfect! OH then three dark brown enamel dots. Love those things!

My copic colors used -

A great image to cheer up a friend feeling under the weather!

Gnoming You Better

Hello friends! I'm back on the High Hopes blog today with a card featuring stamps from their newest release Get Well Soon - these are perfect for those cards that we don't like giving out (because it means someone isn't feeling well), but hopefully the cute characters and sentiments in this release will help brighten their day.

You can watch the card process video below or in full HD on my YouTube channel:

I used Copic markers to color the Gnoming You Better stamp. Here are the colors I used:

White Coats: BG 70 & Colorless Blender
Hair: YR 20, YR 21, YR 23, & YR 27
Beard: N 0, N 2, & N 4
Clipboard: E 11, E 13, & E 15
Pants: BG 09
Red cross: R27 & R 29
Lips: R24
Faces: E 0000, E 00, & E 11
Stethoscope: N 2, N 4, & N 6
Needle: YR 30 & Colorless Blender
Shoes: N 0, N 2, N 4, & N 6

It really didn't take me very long to color these gnomes because they're wearing white scrubs! I just added a little bit of shading with BG 70 and blended that out with the Colorless Blender.

The sentiment I used for this card is the We Gnome Best stamp that I heat embossed on vellum. I've been really into sentiment strips on vellum. I love how that although it goes over part of the card design, it doesn't completely cover it up.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by! I hope you'll check out the Get Well Soon release over in the High Hopes shop. And if you create a project with a High Hopes stamp, then we'd love to see it! Tag High Hopes on social media and join us in our Facebook group. Have a great day!

Speedy Recovery!

Hello HH Fans!
Today I'm sharing another card using a stamp from the new "Get Well" Collection over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! Meet the adorable "Injured Bear". I'm not sure what kind of accident She was in but boy is she stylin' in that flowered hospital gown and hot pink cast LOL!
I was trying to look at my dies differently and see how I could use them in a different way. I decided to make the die into the card base rather than adding the cut piece to an already designed base. I made a 4.25 x 5.5 card in pink and then cut it out with the die. I just put the one edge of the die just off the paper so I would still have my fold. It turned into a cute stitched and scalloped card base. Then I added layers using paper from the Doodlebug French Kiss 6x6 collection. I fussy cut my image with my Brother Cut N Scan and then created a back piece for the image as well to give it a bit of definition.
I popped up my layered image with foam tape for added dimension to my card. I also added Glitter Pen to the metal parts on the wheel chair although it's hard to see in the picture.
I used the new HH "Speedy Recovery" sentiment and some of the leftover papers on the inside.
Copics Used:
Bear: E55, E57, E59, R22
Wheelchair: T1, T3, T5, T7, T8, T9/ Y32, Y34
Cast: RV04, RV06, RV09
Head Bandage: W1, W3, W5

Today's card was more of a simple design with the stamp as the focal point. I hope you liked it!
Happy Stamping!
