# School Is Cool

Next week the kids will be going back to school. As you can imagine both the parents and the kids have mixed feelings about this.
My neighbour's 4 year old will be starting junior kindergarten. She is excited and nervous all at the same time - understandable right?!

My card today features Mary J Teacher Angel from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. The card colours are not traditional school colours but I wanted to try something different.......and I didn't have school themed paper in my paper stash - gasp! so I had to step outside the box and challenge myself to find a way to use what I did have.

I coloured sweet Mary J with alcohol markers and fussy cut her. I chose my lined background paper - appropriate for school right?! and used the school background stamp to create my patterned paper. A letter edge die helped on the edge of one piece to keep my school theme. All the edges are inked with matching ink. Next I designed and printed my sentiment on my computer and cut it out with a fishtail banner die. It is hard to see in the photo but I added some clear sparkle pen to her wings. Some simple twine and matching gumdrops finish off my card.

Bossie's Bad Mood

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have been looking at my older High Hopes over the last few weeks, and have been pulling out a few favorites to play with and I don't know why but "Bossie's Bad Mood" just seemed to call out to me.. maybe a little relating? LOL

I can SO relate to Bossie... So I decided to have Bossie sit on a "Bale O'Hay".. I have the "Farm Fence" as well, but honestly do you think a Cow can climb a fence to sit on it? No me either... LOL

Colored with my copics (colors below) and then added some sparkle with Nuvo Sparkle Markers. Cuz cows love bling.

I found some older My Minds Eye papers that were fun along with a cream and black colored card stock for bases. Those yummy swirls are a Spellbinder's die cut that I layered under Bossie. Needed swirls along with the bling. The sentiment "Waiting for Heifer" as I just love it and matches up so well with Bossie and her attitude. Three Nuvo Dots in the corner and I love how fun this one is.

Copic markers used -

You just must click over right now to the High Hopes Stamps website and see all the fun there! Old and New there is just so much to create with!

Hope you have a great day - and in a much happier mood than Bossie -

Thanks so much

Happy Halloween!

Hello My Friends!
It's Tuesday so that means it's my turn to post over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs! The theme this month is Fall/ Halloween, so I've chosen the oh so adorable "Witchy Poo with Kitty Frame" to make my card with.
I started by first making my background for my card base. I just got the YNS "Funky Line Panel Die" and thought it would be perfect for "Witchy Poo". I pulled out my stash of older Doodlebug Halloween paper and added strips for a fun background. Then I coloured my image to match my paper choices. A few spider webs complete with cute green spiders and a bow were my embellishments this time. I added Yellow Stickles to the moon and stars. The sentiment is also from HH and is called "Simple Halloween".
Copics Used:

Harvest truck

Happy Sunday!

When I think of Autum, I think of the harvest. When I was a little girl I grew up on a farm and I can remember the busy harvest times. We didn't have a truck like this, but it sure would be a better help back then ;)
So when I came across this cute Autumn dessinpaper by Carta Bella, I knew I had to use the Old Pick Up Truck! I made a birthday card with it, for it seems my birthday cards are always gone when I need one, hahaha!

I made an Autumn border with a mushroom border die (JoyCraft) and some grass dies.
The sentiment is a dutch one and means Happy Birthday.

Apple Friends

It is always nice to receive a surprise gift from a friend isn't it? I don't always get the chance to do this but sometimes my friends do something so nice and  unexpected that it is nice to give them a card and gift to thank them.

This stamp has more of a spring feel to it but I wanted to challenge myself to make it into a fall feel card. I am also hoping to inspire you to find different ways to use the stamps in your stash. Changing the colours and paper can take a versatile stamp like this one and make it easy to use for any occasion or season.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die. I added silver Wink of Stella to her earrings for a little bit of bling. The sentiment was stamped and mounted on matching cardstock. Some twine and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Apple - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Friends Are For - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: I Love Family - Echo Park

Boo

Happy Sunday!

Another Halloween card this time using Little Vampire. I think this is such a fun stamp to use also for a "surprise, it's your birthday!"card.

Base of the card is Bazzill white cardstock.
Dessinpapers are (again) from BoBunny: Fright Delight. I actually used small scraps from last weeks card on this one too.  I added some colored dots and a Boo sentiment to complete the card (I made eyes from the O's just using a black pen).

Fall Fox Friends Photo Shoot

I think fall is the perfect time for family photos. I love the natural tones of fall colours and I have seen a lot of family photo shoots done among the changing and falling leaves.

My card today features the "Fox Friends" stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. This stamp reminds me of some of the family pictures we had taken when I was younger. I have two brothers and sitting still for a family photo wasn't something that happened often! To me it looks like Momma is trying to get the little ones to sit still for the family photo. At least they are smiling!

I coloured this cute family with alcohol markers and fussy cut them. Next I coloured my tree element and added some punched leaves to make my tree. I added a wavy stitched edge to the patterned paper and inked the edges of the cardstock. The sentiment is part of a larger saying so I masked off the word I wanted and stamped it directly on to my cardstock. The sky is coloured loosley with a chalk pencil and then I used a piece of paper towel to blend it all together. A few extra falling leaves finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Fox FriendsTree Element - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: You Make Me Smile - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Wood and Notebook Basics - Simple Stories
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Generals chalk pencils, leaf punch - Recollections, stitched border die - Whimsy Stamps, dotted rectangle die - Sizzix, umber ink - Versa Mark

Pumpkin Buddies

Howdy - MichelleO here and this week for High Hopes Stamps I was digging through all of my Fall and Halloween stamps and ran across this sweet image of "Pumpkin Buddies"  Now I couldn't not color up these cute little faces could I?

I colored these guys with my Copics (colors below) and then found some My Minds Eye scraps that just screamed for a fall card to made with them. I sewed all the layers down and used a Dark Brown card stock for the base and the mats. Then I used the High Hopes Stamps sentiment "Frightfully delightful"  I colored the paper with a bright green copic as the card needed a pop!

Copic colors used -
