Good Times!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Joy Ride - TT002 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Good Times - GLL006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Christmas is always a wonderful time to gather with family and friends. Thinking of snow right now is also a way to cool down with all of this summer heat too! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I chose Echo Park Paper Co. - My Favorite Winter (6" x 6") for my background paper and trimmed just a little off of the sides. Then, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch and inked around all of the edges. I added some glue to the back of the paper and applied it to the base card. Using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut a larger square from Recollections - Burgundy cardstock and a smaller square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked around the edges of the larger square with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Aged Mahagony and applied 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of it and applied to the background. I die cut the sentiment label with My Creative Time - Stitched Rectangular Frames Dies and More. The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I applied Stickles - Unicorn around the edges of the label and set it aside to dry.

I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles - Eucalyptus to the lady's cuff and collar and Stickles - Crystal to her hat and pompom. For the man, I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents - Fresh Snowfall to his hat and pompom. Lastly, I added some Brutus Monroe - Snow Paste using a spatula to the bottom outer edge of the image to represent a snow bank on the side of the road. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen, Glitter Glue Pen and DecoArt Glamour Dust, I created the snowy background. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was used to colour in the Holly on the wreath.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied some glue to the back of it and applied it directly on top of the larger square. I applied some glue and some 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied that on an angle at the top of the card. I only put the tape in a few spots so that it would be the same height as the image. To finish off the card, I added some CC Designs - Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots on to the sentiment and some sequence.

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Hi!
I hate to say it, but before we know it Santa will be on his way to all the good girls and boys (parents too)! Since we are celebrating "Christmas In July" with the Christmas re-release over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps, I had to make at least one card with Santa in it! This is the super cool "Santa's Here" red rubber image.
A simple design today using papers from the Doodlebug "Nite Before Christmas" 6x6 collection. I stamped "Santa's Here" with Memento ink onto some Copic Friendly paper. Using my Copic Sketch markers, I coloured Santa in. I decided to use a tag die and put it on a bit of a slant for some added interest.  Some enamel dots and Stickles on the fur trim finish off my card.
I used the High Hopes sentiment called "Ho Ho Ho", but I fussy cut them out using my manicure scissors and then popped them up with foam tape. Here you can see the added dimension it brings to my card.
Copics Used:
Reds: R35, R46, R59
Black/grey: C00, C0, C1, C3, C6, C7, C9
Skin: E21, E11, R20
Chimney: E08, E95, E97, E99
Santa Sack: E31, E33, E35
Sack Contents: E25, E29, Y35, Y38, RV55, YG03, YG17

Santa's Coming!!!

Santa will be here before we know it so the elves are working over time in Santa's Workshop to make sure all the toys are ready. "Painting Elf" from the Christmas In July release at High Hopes is working furiously to keep caught up on his painting because he knows Santa is on his way!

After stamping this cutie I coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out using a big and little pierced chain die. I found some paper from Echo Park and Carta Bella and cut out my layers. I used some of the smaller cut off pieces from other papers in these pads to make the banner tags that are under the stamp. This is a great way to use up some of the smaller pieces left over from trimming paper and usually have a hole in the middle. I finished my card off with some ribbon and enamel dots

Penguin Merry Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........on my blog and in my craft space anyway! Where I live we are in the throws of summer heat and humidity so doing Christmas cards in July definitely helps cool things down in my space.

I have a number of people in my life who love penguins so the re-release of "Penguin On Ice" in the Christmas in July release was perfect timing for my Christmas card making adventures. I definitely see more of this cutie in my card making future. Without further ado......meet Penguin On Ice from High Hopes Rubber Stamps!

I stamped this cutie and coloured him with Copic markers and added some Stickles to his hat. I have recently switched to Copics so I am having fun learning colour combos and just having fun colouring over all.
After I finished the colouring, I cut out the image using a slash stitched round square die. I chose patterned paper from Echo Park and planned and cut each layer. I added some die cut icicles to the layers to keep the theme of the stamp as he is sitting on an ice pad.
A tiny bow and the sentiment finish off my card.

Happy Xmas Couple!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Happy Together - TT007 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Holiday All Year - H200 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This month High Hopes Rubber Stamps is celebrating Christmas in July! Have you started your Christmas cards yet for this year?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I inked around the edges of American Crafts - "Holiday" paper cut to the same size with Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint. Then I applied it directly to the base card with double-sided tape. The larger oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Forever In Time - Texture Rouge paper and Gina Marie Designs - Big and Little Pierced Chain Oval Layered Dies. Using VersaMark ink, I inked around all of the edges of the oval and then applied Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff - Gold Tinsel and heat embossed it with Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. This was then applied directly to the base card using Forever In Time - Double-sided foam tape. I die cut the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper using oval dies from the same set and Whimsy Stamps - Bookmark and Tags Die Set was used to die cut Lawn Fawn - Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto the smaller oval. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment is actually 2 lines, but I wanted it to fit inside the gift die, so I used Scotch tape to mask off the words I didn't want to show each time. I used my MISTI to do the stamping and Versa Fine - Onyx Black and Ranger - Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder to emboss it. I used my Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool to emboss the powder. I cleaned off the stamp and then repositioned it again, repeating the previous steps. I did this 4 times. To finish off the sentiment give box, I applied some VersaMark ink to the bow and around all of the edges of the die cut. Next, I added Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff - Gold Tinsel embossing powder and heat embossed everything using my heating tool.

To assemble the card, I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and Forever In Time - Double-sided foam tape to the back of the sentiment and applied them both to the card. To finish everything off and give it a little bit of sparkle, I added some dots on the holly using Stickles - Xmas Red.
