Drummer Boy!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Drummer & Friends - RDG005 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum - H090 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This is the start of a new month and we're celebrating the Christmas Cheer release for the month of September at High Hopes.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock - White cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I cut the background paper from Heartfelt Creations - Festive Winterscapes Collection - Sheet 9A paper to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Chipped Sapphire. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. The sentiment was then stamped onto the background paper using Versamark Ink and heat embossed using my Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.  I fussy cut around it and then inked the edges with a black marker. I popped it up onto the background using 3M double-sided tape. I inked under the image with C2 copic marker to create a shadow and finish off the card.

Have A Blessed Easter!

Today, I'm sharing an Easter card using Three Pane Easter - M043 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Blessed Easter Greetings - G151 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Happy Easter to family, friends and everyone!

To make my card this week, I started with Craft Smart Card Paper pre-made to 5.5" x 4.25". I stamped the images and sentiment using MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Brother Scan and Cut, I cut out each of the images. My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Die Layers and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the sentiment and Craft Sparkling Stickers - Purple (02-3068629) paper.

The main images were coloured in with Copic Markers. The background papers were all from Your Next Stamp - Happy Spring (6"x6") paper pad. I cut each section at 4" x 1.5" and then inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wilted Violet. The sentiment was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber.

To assemble the card, using glue, I attached the 3 background papers onto the base card. Crafts ribbon was attached using double-sided tape. The images, sentiment and sentiment background were attached to the background papers using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape. Lastly, to finish off the card, I cut 3 Easter eggs out of some watercolour paper that I had used various Cosmic Shimmer colours on previously. I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wilted Violet and glued them directly to the background paper.

He Is Risen!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made an Easter Card using  He Lives! - R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and He Is Risen! - H137 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I really love the serenity of this image. Here's hoping that we will get to spend Easter with our loved ones this year.

To make my card this week, I used AC Cardstock for my base folded at 6" x 6". For the main background, I used this beautiful paper from Heartfelt Creations - Flowering Dogwood Collections cut to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint was used to ink around all of the edges. My Creative Time - Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies was used to cut all of the ovals and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Die Layers was used to cut the small rectangle. Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the large scalloped oval and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Dusty Concord was used to ink around the larger oval and small rectangle. I used 2 types of purple ribbon and ran both pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to attach them to each other and then onto the card. I used some double-sided tape and glue to adhere the larger oval to the base. 3M VHB - 2 sided tape was used to add the larger oval.

I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento - Tuxedo Black and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers. For the sentiment, I found the white was too bright, so I coloured over it with a soft purple Copic marker - V01. I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and placed it on top of the larger oval. For the sentiment, I doubled up on the 3M VHB - 2 sided tape before attaching it to the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  He Lives! - R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: He Is Risen - H137 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Dusty Concord, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Heartfelt Creations - Flowering Dogwood Collections - 12" x 12" Paper Pad - HCDP1-275, AC White Cardstock, Yellow Cardstock, Purple Cardstock

Die Cuts: My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Die Layers - MCT-D274, My Creative Time - Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, Xyron Create a Sticker

Images coloured with Copic Markers:

Have You Herd The News???

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I couldn't wait to colour up this super adorable image called Funny Farm - T065 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  I also thought that the sentiment - Have You Herd The News - G080 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) was perfect for these little characters. Their facial expressions, just make you wonder what it is that is so secret that they can't wait to tell you!! Hmmmm! Could it be a birthday surprise, or maybe a new baby is coming? or someone is retiring??? or someone just graduated???? This combo could be use for so many possibilities and that is why it was so much fun to play with.

Above is the card from the front angle and below is the card from the top angle.

To make my card this week, I started off with a green cardstock base of 5.5" x 11". Then I scored it at 5.5" and 2.75" on one side from the edge to make it a pop-up card. I also cut another piece of cardstock at about 4-1/8" x 5.25". I added some patterned paper from DCWV - Fashion District to this piece and to the inside bottom of the card, cut to the same size. Next, used My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found paper cut at 3.75" x 5" which I popped up with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape. Before attaching the background papers, I edged around them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Shabby Shutters.

I die-cut the main image out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cricut and Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set. Then I stamped the image using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. After that, I coloured in the image using Copic markers. For the background, I used a new technique that I learned. First I used a Q-Tip to moisten the background with some Copic Colorless Blender and then I used a mixture of Copic Re-inkers listed below with a Q-Tip to create the sky and grass. Love this technique, as it is quick and easy. After colouring the image, I inked around the edges with the same Tim Holtz ink and then popped up the image using some 3M VHD - 2 sided tape.

I die cut the sentiment using the same die set that I used for the main image and then stamped the sentiment with Memento - Tuxedo Black Ink. I mounted it with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape onto Joy Crafts - Artist Trading Card Wood Texture cardstock. Then, I popped up the entire base background and sentiment with Forever in Time - Pop-Dot Adhesives onto the inside base of the card.
I attached the finished image that was mounted onto the background papers onto the lower half of the card that had been scored at 2.75" earlier, leaving the top half empty.

Die Cuts: Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214)
