Happy Xmas Couple!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Happy Together - TT007 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Holiday All Year - H200 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This month High Hopes Rubber Stamps is celebrating Christmas in July! Have you started your Christmas cards yet for this year?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I inked around the edges of American Crafts - "Holiday" paper cut to the same size with Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint. Then I applied it directly to the base card with double-sided tape. The larger oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Forever In Time - Texture Rouge paper and Gina Marie Designs - Big and Little Pierced Chain Oval Layered Dies. Using VersaMark ink, I inked around all of the edges of the oval and then applied Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff - Gold Tinsel and heat embossed it with Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. This was then applied directly to the base card using Forever In Time - Double-sided foam tape. I die cut the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper using oval dies from the same set and Whimsy Stamps - Bookmark and Tags Die Set was used to die cut Lawn Fawn - Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto the smaller oval. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment is actually 2 lines, but I wanted it to fit inside the gift die, so I used Scotch tape to mask off the words I didn't want to show each time. I used my MISTI to do the stamping and Versa Fine - Onyx Black and Ranger - Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder to emboss it. I used my Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool to emboss the powder. I cleaned off the stamp and then repositioned it again, repeating the previous steps. I did this 4 times. To finish off the sentiment give box, I applied some VersaMark ink to the bow and around all of the edges of the die cut. Next, I added Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff - Gold Tinsel embossing powder and heat embossed everything using my heating tool.

To assemble the card, I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and Forever In Time - Double-sided foam tape to the back of the sentiment and applied them both to the card. To finish everything off and give it a little bit of sparkle, I added some dots on the holly using Stickles - Xmas Red.

Think Snow!

Hello!
It's a little hard to think "Christmas in July" especially with all the hot humid weather we've been having LOL! But that's what the Design Team is doing over on the High Hopes Blog! Lora has opened the vault and re-released a fun Christmas collection. What better time to get a jump start on your Christmas cards then now, when we are spending time cool in the house with the A/C on! Snowmen are one of my favourite Christmas/Winter images and this darling is called "Let's Skate" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
I decided to use papers from a very old Bo Bunny collection called "Snowfall". I've been hoarding it for years, as I love the blues and brown tones together. After stamping my image onto Copic friendly paper, I coloured the image to match my papers. I took a White gel pen and added some fun polka dots to her hat and mitts. Next using a stitched oval die, I cut out the coloured image. I decided to ink all the edges of my papers with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to add more interest and dimension. Some snowflakes with the High Hopes "Think Snow" sentiment add to my card design. Everything ties together with the ribbon and matching enamel dots.
Copics Used:
C0, C1, C3
B91, B93, B95, B97
E31, E33, E34, E35, E57, E79
YR04, YR07, T01, R22, R46, R56

Sleigh Ride - Christmas in July!

Howdy - MichelleO here today and at High Hopes Stamps we are doing a little Christmas in July! Now I worry my little snowman may melt in all the heat we are having but it is fun to at least color up a bit of cool! And Think Snow! This is "Sleigh Ride" isn't he adorable with his little penguin friend?

I forced myself to go a bit non traditional with the colors on this one. I found a tan pattern paper from Graphic 45 that had snowflakes on it... so I pushed on and found a pretty teal in the same collection. I actually love the combo and how the image pops with them. My little snowman friend is colored with my Copics, colors below, then stacked on layers of the pattern paper. All placed on a cream colored card stock base. Now I will admit I may have gone a bit silly with the Nuvo white. Ha! I brought it out to dot the snow flakes on the sleigh... and then though "Think Snow" and well... it is snowing! Oh and that sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps, love the font!

The snowflake punches are from Spellbinders and seem to work with the theme well! I added some dots of the Nuvo on them as well, just so all my snow matches perfectly.

Copic colors used -

It is fun to color up your own cool weather - and perfect to get ahead on those holiday cards as well! You now how busy things get the end of the year, so why not cool off and get ahead now?

Hope you enjoyed - and make sure to visit the High Hopes Stamps website HERE for more "Cool" images!

Snowballs For Sale

The retirement vault has opened and the Christmas in July release is available and in the High Hopes store! I am so excited for this re-release and the best part is I can officially say I have started my 2021 Christmas cards!

I love making and giving Christmas cards and I have quite a few people on my card giving list that love snowmen so "Snowman Stack" was the perfect stamp to start my cards with. How fun are these snowmen!!!!

After I stamped my image I coloured it using Copic markers and cut it out with a handstitched nesting die. I found some patterned paper that was perfect to go with my stamp and the colours I used. I added a stitched snow hill behind them and used some of the trimmed pieces from the patterned paper to add a few pieces to the sides. I love the snowflakes on this paper!
I love a little bit of sparkle on my Christmas cards so I added Star Dust Stickles to the snowballs and top of the shovel and sign. Next I cut some snow flakes out of a border die from matching sparkly paper and added some glitter dots to finish off my card.
