North Pole Greetings!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps North Pole Penguin - TDG008 for the main image and Seasons Greetings - F300A, for the sentiment. Christmas is getting nearer and this little penguin is helping Santa deliver some of your presents this year!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base from Crate Paper - Boxed Cards - Mittens & Mistletoe (5.5" x 4.25"). Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges. With my Cuttlebug and dies from My Favourite Things - Die-namics - Elegant Rectangle Stax, I die cut a large rectangle out of Forever In Time - Texture Rouge paper and a smaller one out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the large rectangle and it was popped up onto the base card.

The image was stamped onto the smaller rectangle using my MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image and then with a paint brush and a small mixture of DecoArt Glamour Dust, FolkArt - Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint and Delta Ceramcoat - White, I added in the first layer of snow. A little more DecoArt Glamour Dust was added to it while it was still wet. This dried pretty quickly and Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and more glitter were added to give the snow some texture. I also added this to the hat, pompom and sign. Lastly, I added some Crystal - Stickles because you can never have enough glitter. LOL! Wink of Stella - Clear was added to the bows, side of the ball on the pole and down the entire pole. Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen - Gold and Wink of Stella - Clear were added to the pink present dots. Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and VersaMark ink. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied over top of the ink and then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. The snow in the sky was created using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and popped it up on top of the larger rectangle. To complete my card, I added in 4 YNS - Holly Jolly Sparkly Gumdrops in the corners.

Fa-La-La-La!

Happy November 1st!
The Design Team over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps is having fun this month with Christmas/Winter themed stamps. I decided to play with the "Bird Song" image and paired it with the "Fa-La-La-La" sentiment. I'm loving these cuties!
I stamped the image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured the image with my Copic Sketch markers. I decided to use papers from the Echo Park's "Winter" 6x6 collection and coloured the image to match. Taking a Gina Marie Loopy Oval die, I cut the image out and popped it up with some foam tape. A few different sizes of snowflakes were added for a fun touch. Since I was at my cottage and didn't have my Distress Inks with me, I used a Copic B97 marker to edge the papers. Some Crystal Stickles on the snowy branches finish off my card.
Copics Used:
B41, B45, B91.B95, B97,B99
E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, E49

Naughty kitty.....?

 Happy Monday HH Fans!

Today I have this fun image called "Callie Christmas Kitty" to share with you.  Now all of us who own cats know that one of their favorite things to do during the holiday's is ....climb the Christmas Tree.  This little cutie is just hanging right off the branch lol.

This year could prove to be a bit of a challenge for our family as my brother lives with us & he has 3 cats while we have 1.  So that's 4 cats to keep off the Christmas tree.  I guess I better think plastic decorations only!

I couldn't decide which sentiment I wanted to use so I used both "Naughty List?" & Santa...I tried!  Both were just perfect for this card.

Little Slueth

Howdy - MichelleO here today and - This sweet guy just makes me grin. He is from High Hopes Stamps and is "Little Slueth

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and found some Crate Paper pattern paper that I used for the card base and mats. While digging through my stash I found an EK Success doggie paw punch border, just seemed like it would be fun with our "Little Slueth" Then I ended up matting the puppy paws with a scallop border from EK Success. Layering up! I sewed everything together and then topped it off with the High Hopes Sentiment "No mystery" - Now I can use this card for just a pick me up for someone, or add a Happy Birthday if needed!

O-fish-ally Awesome

If you have read some of my past blog posts, you will know that I struggle with masculine cards and I don't fish. I mean I did do a little fishing when I was a kid but as an adult it isn't my thing. My hubby doesn't fish either but we have a few friends in our lives who love it, so when we need a birthday card for one of these friends ..... I need to get creating.

Last year, High Hopes did a Gnome Mania release and at that time I took notice of the fishing themed stamps in the release. I wanted to challenge myself to find a way to use the "Just Fishin' and Fishing Shack" stamps together on a card. This stamp pairing has been perculating in my brain for awhile now so I am glad it has finally come together!

This stamp combo was a lot of colouring but I think they work well together. They also needed to be put on a 6x6 card base - a larger size then I normally do. I stamped them on to alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured them with Copic markers. After the colouring was done, I cut the sky line a little lower then the top of the shack roof so the stack and roof stuck out the top to add a little fun to the card.
Fishing themed patterned paper from Carta Bella was my choice and I die cut fish net to tuck in behind the stamps. I used two different sentiments for this card - the Happy Birthday is masked out of a larger stamp. I added one sentiment with what my hubby thinks is a lure spinner he found when we were walking the dog. Since he found it the week I was working on getting the colouring done, I took it as a sign lol - I needed to use it on the card. I put it on to look like it was caught in the fish net and we will deliver this card in person so I don't have to worry about things laying totally flat to be mailed. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Think Snow with Snow Yummy

 Hello HH Fans!!

I'm back again today with another card from our wonderful collection of Winter/Christmas images.  This adorable snowman in a mug is called "Snow Yummy".  Isn't he just the cutest?!!

I was in a bell & button mood today, so I used those for my embellies.  I picked up the bells at Michael's a few years ago & the button is from my stash (insert huge stash here) lol.

Since I'm on this mission to get Christmas cards done, I'm sticking with some general sentiments.  Just in case I want to use it for a Winter card instead...gotta keep my options open.  So, on this cutie I used "Think Snow 2".

Hallowe'en Kitty and Friends!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe'en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Hallowe'en Kitty - TT042 for the image and Happy Halloween - H232 for the sentiment. I thought it would be fun to end the month off with another spooky card since Hallowe'en is only a few days away from now.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25". Textura Select Cardstock - Tropicana was cut to the same size as the base and adhered using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut using My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies. I stamped the main image onto the die cut and the sentiment onto a scrap piece of orange cardstock using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. Using my Cuttlebug and Gina K Designs - Sentiment Strips, I die cut the sentiment that I stamped.

The image was coloured in and then I used a black Prismacolor Premier Pencil to highlight a few of the areas to make them stand out a little more. I also extended the fence to the ends of the die cut on both sides. I added back in the whites of the eyes with a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and some stars in the night sky. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the sentiment and the coloured image. They were both popped up onto the base to complete the card.
