Spring Fun

It is easy to know when spring is in the air. Of course the snow is melting, the sun is out more and the signs pop up every where for local soccer registration. My siblings and I grew up playing soccer so as soon as the side and back yards were dry, we would be out there running around and practicing our soccer skills. My Mom often encouraged us to "get outside"! but I think that was more to get us out of her hair so she could have some peace and quiet!

"Soccer Star" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps reminds me of these fun times especially when the three neighbours came over and we played a game of soccer.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured the stamp with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it. When I was done cutting, I ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. I wanted to keep my design somewhat simple and with more of a masculine feel to it because I think it will be perfect for a little man I have in my life who loves soccer and dinosours....I'm hoping he will love the dragon too!
The background striped paper from Echo Park matched the colouring perfectly so I cut the paper to fit my 5" x 5" card base. I set that aside and found some blue paper from Doodlebug to cut the sky. Then, I found a piece of green card stock to cut the grass using a die and added it to the bottom of the blue "sky". The clouds were cut using a stitched cloud die and added to the sky. I glued the layers and scene pieces down and added some twine to the bottom of the card.
To stamp the sentiment, I used two different stamps by masking off the word I wanted from each sentiment and stamped them. To finish off the card, I added some enamel dots and a fish tail banner die with a soccer button (with the button hole cut off) from my stash.

Duckie's Springtime Joy

Happy Spring! For the month of April, the High Hopes design team will be celebrating all things Spring! My first post features "Duckie Flying Kite". I remember trying to fly a kite a few times as a child but I don't remember being successful at it. Duckie seems to be a pro and is enjoying flying his kite on a beautiful spring day.

After stamping Duckie on alcohol marker friendly paper I coloured him with Copic markers and hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white strip. Can't lie, cutting around the kite string and kite tail was more than a little challenging but with a few walk aways and deep breaths I got it done. I set Duckie aside and cut two rectangle pieces of patterned paper from Craft Consortium. Next I cut a matching Loopy Frame die to put behind Duckie. I added a die cut puffy cloud and some die cut grass. I took the second rectangle and cut it in half - one for each side- and put them on matching card stock as well. I wanted it to look like the "scene" continued so I added some cloud and grass die cuts to these pieces as well. After stamping the sentiment, I added it to matching card stock and glued it down. Some glitter dots finish off my card.

I am using papers from the Doodlebug "Bunnyville" 6x6 collection. I decided to use the papers to create a little scene to put my zig zag oval die cut on. I popped the grass and a few clouds up with foam squares for added dimension. The stamped sentiment is also from High Hopes and is called "Springtime Joy".

Springtime Joy!

Hi HH Followers!
Today I wanted to share a cute and fun card with you! This is the adorable High Hopes "Hoppy Froggy Flower", and he's got a flower just for you!
I coloured my frog with my Copic Markers and then using a terry washcloth and Copic Blending Solution, dabbed at the image to create some texture. I had an extra background from my "Shadow Box Card" post and it came in handy for this card. I stamped the HH "Springtime Joy" sentiment directly on the cloud background.  I added some Stickles to the "warts" on the frog and the flower middle for a fun  look! And doesn't he look adorable with his little "goggly eyes?!!
I decided to mount my fussy cut image on an action wobble for an interactive fun element!
Click play to see the wobble in action.

Springtime Joy

Spring is here and my dog has Moe has his "spring beans" as I call them. It is like the whole winter he has saved his energy so when spring arrives he becomes my wild child. Everything is done with a spring in his step and his chest pushed out like he owns the world.

When I had my horse it was the same thing. First day out in the field was a challenge for him to decide ......do I stop and eat grass or run around my field bucking and kicking............

The playful goats stamp reminds me of the pent up energy that my dog has - you know the kind......when all you want to do is run, play and kick up your heels!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and Prisma pencils I hand fussy cut it. I wanted to put the goat on the left that is bucking on an action wobble so I cut him out completely. The mini action wobble is literally the width of his body so I had to be very precise with my placement but it sure adds a fun element!
I wanted to keep my layout more to the CAS side of card making to keep the focus on this fun stamp, so I grabbed some blue check paper and some white card stock andcut a circle out of if. I  the card stock in to my Misti and placed the sentiment and stamped it.
All of the paper is edged with antique linen distress ink, stitched clouds popped up with foam dots and some enamel dots finish off my fairly CAS design.

Springtime Joy!

Hi HH Fans!
I always wanted as a child to catch some glow bugs in a jar but never seemed to be able to. When I saw High Hopes Stamps image called "Jenny Glow Bugs" I knew that I needed this stamp so I could relive my childhood LOL!
I decided on these cute papers from the Doodlebug "Spring Things" 6x6 collection! I though they matched Jenny perfectly! I have to admit originally I had my image stamped on a stitched rectangle background. Lets just say my attempt at some long grass didn't pan out and I had to end up fussy cutting Jenny out.  I popped her up on a lacey oval of clouds! Disaster adverted.....LOL. The "Springtime Joy" sentiment goes perfectly too ! Some Stickles, YNS enamel dots and a bow finished off my card.
Inside view with the "Sunshine And Sunflowers" sentiment!

Spring is just around the corner and spring flowers are on my mind today! Meet "Little Missy" and she has a bouquet of beautiful Spring flowers just for you!
I thought the papers from the Doodlebug Spring Things 6x6 collection are perfect for this card and for Little Missy's paper pieced dress. I also stuck with the Spring flower theme by using this flower shaped card base from  the Silhouette Store. Some bright yellow ribbon helped to finish off my card.

More of the same fun paper and the "Springtime Joy Script" sentiment.

Today is Tuesday so that means it's time to show you something I made using stamps from High Hopes Stamps! I am using the adorable Patty's Posies image.
