Frances Owl

Hello High Hopes Fans

I am happy to share with you another card I recently made, using an older yet adorable High Hopes Stamp!  Sure hope it inspires you to create a card or two!

This is Frances Owl (P036), Lg. Fancy Happy Birthday (H037) sentiment, and Birthday Hat.  These stamps are so fun to work with!!!  

I coloured Frances with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I added some Glossy Accents to Frances' beak (a bit difficult to see this in this picture).  The birthday hat was also coloured with Tombow Markers, then fussy cut out and glued on Frances' head.  Some yellow stickles were added to the hat as well.  For the background, I used a Sizzix - Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing Folder called Woodgrain set.  Before embossing the SU Crumb Cake cardstock, I used a SU crumb cake ink pad to ink up the entire inside, top flap of the embossing folder.  I then placed the piece of cardstock in the folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug machine and viola, some of the ink appeared in the grooves of the tree-like embossed piece.  So cool!  This technique can be used several different ways, to create super awesome backgrounds that also have texture.  Some additional ink was sponged lightly and randomly on the embossed cardstock, just to give it a more realistic and weathered look. A 1 3/4" circle punch was used to make a hole in the tree for Frances to be placed.  Foam tape was added just to the top of his head to make him pop out of the hole a bit, while his lower body was glued in place behind the circle opening. The sentiment was embossed with White Embossing Powder and was also applied using foam tape to add some dimension.  To complete this design, YNS - Gumdrops were added to the top corner and around the sentiment of this card.

Supplies Used:

Ink - Tombow Markers -969, 942, 985, 055, and 126. Versamark Ink Pad, Black Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, and SU Crumb Cake Ink Pad for sponging and embossing folder.

Paper - SU Black, White, and Crumb Cake Cardstock.

Misc - Glossy Accents, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Sizzix Embossing Folder (Tim Holtz Alterations) - Woodgrain Set, YNS Gumdrops-Lemon & Love Earth, Sponge Daubers, Yellow Stickles, Water Brush, Foam Tape, and Glue Dots.

Firefighter Dragon - Lacey

Hello High Hopes Fans!!

It's Lacey here and today I'm sharing an oldie...

This is Firefighter Dragon S198 with sentiment from Sentiment Set #3 U506.
I just love all of the High Hopes Dragons. They carry a wide selection here.
I used a few punches and banner die to complete the card. The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

The image was embossed in black and watercolored with Twinkling H2Os.

H2O's used:

Olive Vine, Sweet Alfalfa, Nutmeg, Wintermist Grey, Cinnamon, and Bashful Blue

                                              Hello High Hopes Fans!

I hope you are all having a good summer! We have been having some crazy hot weather where I live so it's a perfect time to be indoors in my craft room.

Today I am using Fancy Birdhouse 2 for my creative inspiration post. I have a few people in my life who either have moved or will be moving to new homes. I kept this card on the flat side (no pop up dots - gasp) because I will likely end up mailing it - once I have new addresses of course!

After colouring and fussy cutting my stamp I mounted it on some light blue cardstock. I ran my "sky" through an embossing folder to add some texture and interest to the "sky". I cut out some clouds with a die and ran one cloud through my printer to print my sentiment. I added a fence, some grass and finished it off with a few brads from my stash.

Grandma's Love

Pearls & Lace... that's what comes to my mind when I think of sweet Grandma. 

I coloured this darling gal from High Hopes with copic markers.  The added polka dots are created

using a Sharpie white poster marker.  I really love this marker as the white always pops against the 

background.

 Added an assortment of lace, tulle and fancy trims along with some 

pearls to add to this Granny theme!

The flowers are handmade and are basically just rolled scraps of fabric. The sentiment was created by a coworker of mine and hand typed.  it reads ..

"a garden of love grows in a Grandmothers heart"

Get Well Soon, Medicine Man

Howdy -

MichelleO here today and I dug into some of my old favorites from High Hopes this week! This is one of my favorite get well scenes to use. A little humor always makes you feel better right?

Used a few High Hopes Stamps here to create this fun scene - Medicine Man -  Bubbling Brew - Banana Tree - Jungle Leaf corner - and the sentiment "Calling the Doctor"  Totally love these stamps all together! And images that are not hard to mask to stamp over and create the larger image.

I created an easel card with papers from My Minds Eye, I sewed down all the layers after inking the edges with Rangers Distressed Tea Dye ink. The image is colored with my Copics (colors below)
I added the buttons to help give the easel a place to stand and then three more for decoration at the top of the card.

Robot Birthday

It's TBT!
