Spring Excitement

Am I the only one who gets a spring in their step with the first true days of spring? The days when the sun is bright, and warm and the sky is blue. Feels odd to say it but the first couple of days like that make me feel excited for nice weather and the flowers that will come up in my gardens. When I saw "Pogoin' Dragon" in the High Hopes Stamps line up he seemed to feel the same way so I created a fairly simple scene with him as the focus as he bounces around simply .... enjoying spring!

After stamping onto alcohol marker friendly paper I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I found some bright blue cloud patterned paper, cut some clouds out of the "sky" and added some white paper behind them instead of using the die cut pieces. Next I placed a wavy slider die under the clouds and cut it out. I chose the wavy die so it would like he is jumping on his pogo stick as he is moved across the front of the card.
Next I cut out some tulips using a die in a light orange card stock. I added some dimension to the tulips, leaves and stems and clouds with coloured pencil. After gluing down the tulips I added a grass die cut. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Hope!

Happy Tuesday!
I'm popping in with a pretty card today using the High Hopes stamp called "Flowers Grow". I love this stamp and the sentiment is part of the image. The saying just touches me!
Today's papers are from the Paper Rose "Dear Emma" 6x6 collection. I love using 6x6 paper pads as the Designs are scaled smaller, perfect for card making! Next I stamped the image onto Copic Friendly paper and using my Copic Sketch markers, coloured the image to match  my chosen papers. I cut the image out with a circle die and then backed it onto a Spellbinder's Lacey Circle die. All the papers have their edges inked with Distress Ink in Dusty Concord. A few sparkly enamel dots finish off my card.

Jolie's Little Friend - Take Time to Smell the Flowers!

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this week for High Hopes Stamps I have pulled out one of my very first! Many Many years ago I placed my first order with High Hopes Stamps - I think the first stamps I had ever ordered online before. This sweet little girl was in that first order. This is "Jolie's Little Friend" and I adore her!

Normally I color her in denim and reds... or pinks. This time I decided she needed some fun bright colors! And who wouldn't like a pair of bright green overalls? So I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then went and found some papers from Kaiser Craft Tropical Punch collection. Layered things up and sewed down the layers with zig zag and straight stitches. And then in the paper collection I found this sweet little scallop punch out lace for a border.

The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps and just perfect for this image. "Smell the Flowers" PERFECT!

I decided her shirt needed some polka dots - Nuvo white paint dots. Then added three dots for embellishments.

Love the happy feel of this image and the cards created with it. Adorable. To see more images that make you happy as well click HERE and enjoy all the fun!

Mother's Day Pansies

We have been celebrating spring all month long and for me part of spring is Mother's Day. I am blessed to have both my Mom and Mother in Law in my life and for that I am so grateful. Both of them are strong and full of wisdom....and they both like flowers! So, when I saw the "Pansy Arrangement" in the High Hopes Stamps line up, I knew I had to use it to make a Mother's Day card for one of them.

I stamped this fun arrangement on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured it with Copic markers and cut it out using an xstitched die. I cut a matching circle out of the card stock I had chosen and glued the coloured image to it. After setting that aside, I cut my 5"x 5" card base and cut the card stock to fit. Patterned paper from Lawn Fawn was the perfect match for this card.
I added a piece of white card stock to the top after I put it through my die cutting machine in a polka dot embossing folder. Next, I stamped, cut and mounted the sentiment on card stock. All of the edges are lightly inked with Perfect Plum ink to help them stand out better. A sheer ribbon bow and enamel dots finish off my card.

Springtime Joy!

Hello!
I honestly can't wait to see the flowers start growing in my garden! Maybe I'll even get to see a fairy like this cutie! Meet "Fairy On A Leaf" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Isn't she just adorable?!! I love the little lady bug getting in the picture! "Springtime Joy" was the perfect sentiment to match this card theme.
To start my card design, I stamped "Fairy On A Leaf" onto Copic friendly paper and coloured her in with my Copic Sketch markers. I chose papers from the Carta Bella "Flora no. 2" 6x6 collection. Next using a frame die, I cut the image out and a larger size to put in behind her. I cut the sentiment in half and popped it up with some foam tape for added dimension. Some ribbon and a flower brad finish off the card design.

Spring Bunny Sampler

Howdy - MichelleO here today! And today I am coloring up Spring Bunny Sampler for High Hopes Stamps - This is such a fun image to color!

Spending the afternoon coloring - how fun is that!! I colored with my Copics (colors below) I then went digging into some older papers for some spring papers. These are Heidi Grace papers. Love the glitter on them. I created a scalloped mat with an EK Success punch, then sewed down all the layers with a zig zag stitch. My image is sewn on to a white mat as well. It needed a little more... and for spring that had to be flowers right?

A few mulberry flowers and some Martha Stewart leaves punches in the corner with a yellow brad. Love how this one came out. And adore those bunnies!

Spring Fun

It is easy to know when spring is in the air. Of course the snow is melting, the sun is out more and the signs pop up every where for local soccer registration. My siblings and I grew up playing soccer so as soon as the side and back yards were dry, we would be out there running around and practicing our soccer skills. My Mom often encouraged us to "get outside"! but I think that was more to get us out of her hair so she could have some peace and quiet!

"Soccer Star" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps reminds me of these fun times especially when the three neighbours came over and we played a game of soccer.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured the stamp with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it. When I was done cutting, I ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. I wanted to keep my design somewhat simple and with more of a masculine feel to it because I think it will be perfect for a little man I have in my life who loves soccer and dinosours....I'm hoping he will love the dragon too!
The background striped paper from Echo Park matched the colouring perfectly so I cut the paper to fit my 5" x 5" card base. I set that aside and found some blue paper from Doodlebug to cut the sky. Then, I found a piece of green card stock to cut the grass using a die and added it to the bottom of the blue "sky". The clouds were cut using a stitched cloud die and added to the sky. I glued the layers and scene pieces down and added some twine to the bottom of the card.
To stamp the sentiment, I used two different stamps by masking off the word I wanted from each sentiment and stamped them. To finish off the card, I added some enamel dots and a fish tail banner die with a soccer button (with the button hole cut off) from my stash.
