A little birdie told me!

Happy Victoria Day to all our Canadian fans!  Hope you get to celebrate tonight with some fireworks!

Today I'm here to share our sweet image called Bird Watch....isn't this little bear the cutest?!

I'm on a roll getting birthday cards back into my stash, you can just never have enough.  I wanted something bright & cheerful. I picked some patterned paper with a bunch of tiny little flowers on it & a matching paper that looks like waves.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Tuesday!
It's "Christmas In July" over at High Hopes Stamps! I have lots of friends that have birthdays in December, so instead of making this a "Christmas Card", I decided to make it a birthday card! High Hopes "Lil' Snowbird" is beyond adorable and perfect for one of my Besties!
To start, I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured it in with my Copic Sketch markers. I am using papers from the Bella Blvd. "Santa Squad" 6x6 collection. I chose papers from this designer collection that didn't scream Christmas and they were perfect for my Birthday theme. Using a Gina marie Double Looped Oval die, I cut out the coloured image. I thought the High Hopes "Bird Told Me" sentiment was perfect for this image! A white gel pen was used to make polka dots on her bow and mitts to match with the ribbon bow I made. Some Stickles and glitter pen add that touch of sparkle I love so much!
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E21, E11, R20, R22
Hair: T6, T7, T9
Outfit: RV55, RV66/ YG01, YG03, YG17
Bird House: E25, E29, Y35, Y38
Bow: R35, R37, R39
Snow: B0000, B000, B00

A Bird Told Me

Like most crafters I know, I can never have too many Birthday cards in my stash. My post today is just such a card and it features "Bird Watch" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

How adorable is this bear peeking over the bird bath to chat with his bird friend! He just makes me smile and I hope the person who receives the card does too.

After stamping this cutie I coloured it using Copic markers, hand fussy cut him and ran a black marker on the outside of the stamp to get any white I had missed. Patterned paper from Craft Consortium was perfect for my background to add a few puffy clouds and a couple strips of grass. I stamped the sentiment, cut it to size and mounted it on matching card stock.
Some enamel dots finish off my card.

A little bird....

Hi Everyone;

Friday is here again and what's more it's a long weekend.  This means that there is more time to spend with family as well as more playtime.

This week I went outside of my comfort zone and dug out other dies besides circles, squares and ovals, a cloud stencil and some distress inks.  It has been a long time since I have used these and it is time to use and play with them again.  Oh the possibilities.

For today's card, I have used the adorable Gotcha and a Bird Told Me; both from High Hopes Stamps.

After stamping and colouring the image with Copic Markers, I cut it out using an distress edges die.  Using a mini cloud edges stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Ink, I created some clouds that didn't quite come out as I was expecting them to.  I definitely need some practice.  The extra grass is from another die that has been unused for a very long time.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Gotcha (R115), Bird Told Me (F251) -- High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink - Salty Ocean
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock; DP - Perfectly Plaid - Spring & Spiffy Speckles (both from Lawn Fawn)
  • Copic Markers:
    • YG07 - Acid Green, YG06 - Yellowish Green, YG05 - Acid Green
    • E40 - Brick White, E41 - Pearl White, E42 - Sand White
    • N0 - Neutral Gray No. 0, N1 - Neutral Gray No. 1
    • YR07 - Cadmium Orange, YR04 - Chrome Orange
    • Y04 - Acacia, Y06 - Yellow, Y08 - Acid Yellow
    • Other:  YG01 - Green Bice, YG03 - Yellow Green
  • Dies:  A2 - Distress Edges (Spellbinders); Spring Meadow (Cottage Cutz)
  • Stencil: Mini Cloud Edges (My Favourite Things)

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

For today's post, I thought I would make something a little different, yet keeping with a birthday theme..

This is Cute Birdy (F250) and Bird Told Me (F251) sentiment.  I think this Birdy is just sooo adorable and works well for so many different projects!

I started by colouring the image with Tombow Markers and water. After the image was all coloured and dry, I applied some Glossy Accents to Birdy's beak.

The main image was fussy cut out.  A YNS die called Scalloped Topped Treat Bag was used to create the small bag using SU Pacific Point Cardstock.  The designer paper is from Doodlebug-Springtime 6x6 paper pad.  For the sentiment, it was stamped with a versamark ink pad then heat embossed using black embossing powder on SU Apricot Appeal cardstock.  To complete this project, Doodlebug twine was tied in a bow around the top of the flap, and a small piece of Hook and Loop tab (a thin velcro, adhesive-backed tab) was placed under the flap, to easily open and close the treat bag.
