Waiting For Santa

The Christmas Cheer release is now live and full of adorable images to help you get your Christmas card started!

When I saw the "Santa Boy & Reindeer Dog" stamp in this release I pictured them sitting under the tree waiting for Santa. I had made some cascade front or double angle card bases a couple weeks ago and decided to try to bring my idea to life on one of these bases. This fold is easier to make than it looks and folds flat for mailing. Perfect for a Christmas card!

After stamping this adorable pair on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and stamped my sentiment. This is cut in half as it stuck out the side too far to leave it in the original shape.
Using some templates I had cut, I added some wood patterned paper to the base. Next, I cut more pine branches than I can count - I was seeing them when I closed my eyes - and formed my Christmas tree on the base. I added some hand fussy cut light strings cut from a 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper I had in my stash.  To finish my card, I glued down the sentiment (after adding it to matching card stock) and image and added a die cut star to the top of the tree.

Winter Fun!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Bearly Swooshin' - T202 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Roundin' Up - G190 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Winter was always a fun time for me growing up. We had so many outdoor rinks and played so many winter sports. I tried X-Country skiing, but in no way would ever attempt downhill skiing, I was dangerous enough on X-Cross Country skis. I wonder it that's why everyone I ever went skiing with would only go once with me. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock - White cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I cut the background paper from Recollections - Burgundy cardstock to the same size as the base and used double-side tape to apply it directly to it. Photo-Play - O Canada 2 - Ice Rink paper was cut to the size of 5.75" x 5.75" and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness. I applied this directly to burgundy background using double-sided tape. Using Hero Arts - Infinity Dies - Rounded Rectangle dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the following: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Recollections - Burgundy cardstock, AC - Green Cardstock and Recollections - White cardstock.

The image and sentiment were stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and used a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to create the snow in the sky and whites of the bear's eyes. Sakura Glaze - Black Pen was used for the eyes and nose. Just love the embossed look those 2 pens give to an image. Lastly, I added some Stickles - Diamond and some Clear Glitter glue for the snow. Once the glitter was all dry, I attached the finished image to the burgundy rounded rectangle with 3M VHB double-sided tape to pop it up. Then, I applied 3M double-sided tape onto the back of the larger rectangle to pop it up on the pictured background. The sentiment was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness and I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it on top of the small green rectangle. I added 3 layers of the 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the one side to pop it up and some glue and placed it on top of the popped-up coloured image. Lastly, to complete the card, I added some YNS Gumdrops.

Reindeer Sweetness!

Happy Tuesday HH Fans!

It's RELEASE DAY!!!

Welcome to the first day of our "Christmas Cheer" Release over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! I hope you enjoyed the week of sneak peaks from our Design Team.  There are so many adorable stamps for you to play with! Today I'm sharing "Reindeer Sweetness" and the sentiment called "Oh Deer". These two make the cutest friends don't you think?!
To start, I stamped my image onto some Copic friendly paper and coloured "Reindeer Sweetness" in with  my Copic Markers. Then using my Brother Cut N Scan, I cut around the image leaving a small white border. I chose papers from the Echo Park "Merry and Bright" 6x6 collection. I decided to edge all my papers using some Distress Ink in Vintage Photo for a bit of dimension. I popped the image up with foam squares over my die cut. A bit of pink ric rak ribbon, stickles on her hat and scarf and a snowflake gem, finish off my card design today.

Wintery Owl

Howdy - MichelleO here today - There is a new release coming from High Hopes Stamps! A 'SNEAK PEAK' of our Christmas Cheer Release shown today -  for the release tomorrow !!!

So I have the honor of showing off one more image and it is a cutie!

This is Wintery Owl -

Such a sweet little owl - but with one snazzy scarf and hat! I colored with my Copics and then high lighted with Nuvo White for the snow on the branch and Nuvo Sparkle on the hat and scarf cuz they just had to have some bling! For a sentiment I used High Hopes Stamps "Warm Winter Wishes" - a great sentiments for so many cards during the season.

Found some Graphic 45 Christmas papers and then sewed down layers with a strong zig zag stitch on my sewing machine. Then to "wrap" it up I found a gingham ribbon and tied around with a bow.

These are the Copic colors I used -

Now you must visit the High Hopes Stamps Web Store and see all the fun! And make sure to pop back tomorrow for the  Christmas Cheer Release!!

Merry Christmas!

Welcome Everyone;

For the next few days, High Hopes Stamps will be having 'SNEAK PEAKS' of our Christmas Cheer Release.  Yes, one stamp to be released per day with the Full Release debuting on Tuesday, September the 7th.  Oh what fun the HH Divas are going to have.

For today's card, I have used the adorable Winter Moose and paired it with the Small Christmas Script.

After stamping the image on XPress It Blending Cardstock and coloured it with Copic Markers, I used a Nested Scappolled Rectangle to cut it out with.  Besides being CAS, this card is an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/"), which is smaller than what I usually make. Some Nuvo Glitter Drops were added to the trim on the hat, and Nuvo Glitter Accents added to the ground for snow.  Enamel dots and a flower finished off the card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Winter Moose - SDG002 - Sneak Peak Christmas Cheer Release, Small Christmas Script - F051; both from High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - Winter Whimsy - Gina K. Designs
  • Copic Markers:
    • E39 - Leather, E37 - Sepia, E35 - Chamois

    • N5 - Neutral Gray No. 5, No. N4 - Neutral Gray No. N4, N0 - Neutral Gray No. N00
    • G0000 - Crystal Opal, G000 - Pale Green, G00 - Jade Green

Holy Night

Over the next few days, the High Hopes design team will be sharing a sneak peek from the Christmas Cheer release. The stamp featured will be available the day it is posted and the full release will be available September 7th - fun right?!

For today's sneak peek I decided to challenge myself to do a CAS (clean and simple) style card featuring 3 Wisemen. I find this style very challenging because I usually like to include a few patterned papers and maybe some die cuts on my cards. This style forces me to sit on my hands and not keep adding to the design.

These adorable wisemen were stamped, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut. Originally I had made an ink blended background but I ended up changing design direction and had already cut the background .....the wrong size for the direction I ended up going. Thankfully, I had some patterned paper from a Recollections pad that mimicked a subtle starry sky as back up.

My next challenge was that I didn't have a star that was the look I wanted. So, what is a gal to do?! I grabbed a star dangle stencil I have in my stash and got to work. I turned my white glitter paper over, chose the star size I wanted and traced it out. Next, I found a slightly smaller star to go over top that gave me the smaller peeks, hand drew the tail and cut it out with scissors. To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment directly on to the base and glued everything down.

This is the start of a new month and we're celebrating the Christmas Cheer release for the month of September at High Hopes.

I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. The sentiment was then stamped onto the background paper using Versamark Ink and heat embossed using my Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.  I fussy cut around it and then inked the edges with a black marker.
