Bear Birthday

July is a big Birthday month for me. Most of my immediate family has a Birthday in July and most of them are men and young me that I need cards for. My Dad's Birthday is one of them and he used to always tell us when we were kids he is going to move us up into the bush so we can live off the land.......so I thought the Bear and Mountains stamps from High Hopes were perfect for his Birthday card.

I stamped the bear and mountains on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and found some patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps for the sky and cut it to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base.
Next, I got some green cardstock and cut out some grass and trees to create my scene. I glued them all down and added a piece of light blue card stock for the water. I added the bear and mountain stamps, twine, and the sentiment and finished it off with enamel dots.

Card Recipe

Stamp - Bear (TDG002), Mountains (TDG007) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Pirates Birthday (F147)- High Hopes Rubber Stamps

I added Wink of Stella - Clear to the yellow on the cupcake, hat and ribbons to make them sparkle. U-Line double sided tape was added to the backs of the image and sentiment and they were both popped up onto the patterned base card. Hello Winter

Welcome Everyone;

Now that the rush of Christmas has come and gone, it is now New Year's Eve.  No doubt it will be a quiet one for people, but still celebrated as for saying good bye to 2021 and hello to 2022.

For my last card of the year I have used Bear, Mountains and paired with Hello Winter stamps from High Hopes Stamps.  These are all from the Woodland Winter Release.

After stamping them all on copic friendly paper, I coloured them with copic markers.  The mountains were stamped 3 times amd each one was also coloured with copic markers.  They were all fuzzy cut  and the outer edges touched up with a Tsukenko Memento Tuxedo Black Marker.  I created the mountains, by adding multiple layers.  White Blizzard from Nuvo Glitter Accents line was added to the mountain tops.  The enamel dots and a snowflake finished off this CAS card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Bear - TDG002, Mountains - TDG007, Hello Winter - FDG007 all from High Hopes Stamps Woodland Winter Release
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - North Country - Prima, Perfectly Plaid Winter - Lawn Fawn

Winter Fun!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Bearly Swooshin' - T202 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Roundin' Up - G190 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Winter was always a fun time for me growing up. We had so many outdoor rinks and played so many winter sports. I tried X-Country skiing, but in no way would ever attempt downhill skiing, I was dangerous enough on X-Cross Country skis. I wonder it that's why everyone I ever went skiing with would only go once with me. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock - White cut and scored to be 6" x 6". I cut the background paper from Recollections - Burgundy cardstock to the same size as the base and used double-side tape to apply it directly to it. Photo-Play - O Canada 2 - Ice Rink paper was cut to the size of 5.75" x 5.75" and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness. I applied this directly to burgundy background using double-sided tape. Using Hero Arts - Infinity Dies - Rounded Rectangle dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the following: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Recollections - Burgundy cardstock, AC - Green Cardstock and Recollections - White cardstock.

The image and sentiment were stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and used a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to create the snow in the sky and whites of the bear's eyes. Sakura Glaze - Black Pen was used for the eyes and nose. Just love the embossed look those 2 pens give to an image. Lastly, I added some Stickles - Diamond and some Clear Glitter glue for the snow. Once the glitter was all dry, I attached the finished image to the burgundy rounded rectangle with 3M VHB double-sided tape to pop it up. Then, I applied 3M double-sided tape onto the back of the larger rectangle to pop it up on the pictured background. The sentiment was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness and I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it on top of the small green rectangle. I added 3 layers of the 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the one side to pop it up and some glue and placed it on top of the popped-up coloured image. Lastly, to complete the card, I added some YNS Gumdrops.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Bearly Swooshin' - T202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Roundin' Up - G190 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Rustic Wilderness

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, AC Cardstock - White, Photo-Play - O Canada 2 - Ice Rink (12" x 12"), Recollections - Burgundy, AC - Green Cardstock and Recollections - White Cardstock

Die Cuts: Hero Arts - Infinity Dies - Rounded Rectangle (DI465)

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, 3M - 2 sided tape, Sakura Glaze - Black Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen, Xyron Create a Sticker, 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, YNS Gumdrops, Cuttlebug

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Eyes: Sakura Glaze - Black Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen

Bear: E47, E44, E43

Hat, Scarf, Mitts and Bindings: R59, R37, R35, C1, C0, C00, Colorless Blender

Skis, Goggles and Poles: B99, B95, B93, B91, B00, 100, T6

Background: G43, G40, G12

Snow: Stickles - Diamond, Clear Glitter Glue

Hope you like it and have a fantastic week!

Hearts Warm!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Toasting Marshmallows - T026 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Hearts Warm - G063 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This image brings back so many memories of going camping and sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows. I gave my image coloured marshmallows, because growing up they were always my favourite! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a base of 6" x 6" using Recollections - Black cardstock. I taped Echo Park - Star Stencil on top of the cardstock and applied several Cosmic Shimmer - Opal Blaze Polishes using a spatula to create the nice starry background. I wanted my scene to look like the friends were in the woods, so I die cut some trees of various sizes using Nellie's Choice - Nature Scene Dies - NSD001 - Mountains and Momenta - Cardstock. Once I die cut the trees, I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Forest Moss and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint to add some more colour to them. Then, I ran the trees through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to apply them later. I felt the scene also needed a moon, so I die cut one using Nellie's Choice - Nature Scene Dies - NSD002 - Sky and then coloured it in and added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of it and set everything aside.

I stamped my image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock. I fussy cut around the top part of the image and then used a ruler to know where to cut the remainder of the bottom piece with my cutter. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then used a black marker to go around all of the fussy cut part of the image and Copic marker - YG67 was used to go around the edges of the grassy area. For the sentiment, I used My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers to cut out the sentiment and background layer. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it directly to the outer frame.

My card was now ready to assemble. I first adhered my starry background to a card base of AC - White cardstock sized at 6" x 6" using double-sided tape. Then, I used my coloured image to help me with the placement of where the trees would go. Since, I had already made stickers out of my trees, this was a fairly easy process. Once I was satisfied with their positioning, I applied 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, to the back of the coloured image and sentiment frame and attached them directly to the base card. Lastly, I attached the moon to complete the scene.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Toasting Marshmallows - T026 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Hearts Warm - G063 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Just Bee-Cause!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Hunny Bear - Q021 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Just Bee Cause - G055 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This little bear really loves his honey and so do I. We always went to the local farms or farmer's market when it was open to buy pure unpasteurized honey. Now during Covid, we purchase it from the stores that they supply. Honey goes so well with tea too and has so many fantastic health benefits! Yum! Yum! So good! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a base of 5.5" x 4.25" using Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. Using a Picket Fence - Blending Brush I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. I cut 2 pieces of golden yellow cardstock and put them through my Xyron Creative Station to make them into stickers. Then, I ran them through my Cuttlebug using Memory Box - Honeycomb Corner die. This made it very easy to adhere the die cuts to the base card. Using Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the bee-hive with Memory Box - Honey Bee Skep die. I used Copic Markers to colour the die cut and then using a small piece of Scotch Tape, I put the door back into place. Then I used 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to pop it up onto the base of the card.

I stamped my image using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and the sentiment onto Yellow Cardstock. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it. I used a black marker to go around all of the edges of the coloured image. Using my cutter, I cut around the sentiment and then ink around all of the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wild Honey. Using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape, I attached the coloured image and sentiment to the base. Then I used, Copics Y17 and Y15 to create a shadow below the bee-hive and image.

To finish off the card I assembled some of the small die-cut pieces from the honeycomb in various parts of my card and added some little bees using Buttons Galore & More - Sprinkletz Embellishments - Bumble Bees. Also, I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the honey seeping over the lid of the jar.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Hunny Bear - Q021 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Just Bee Cause - G055 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey.

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb., Golden Yellow Cardstock

Die Cuts: Memory Box - Honeycomb Corner - Style No. 99448, Memory Box - Honey Bee Skep - Style No. 98491

Tools Miscellaneous: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Buttons Galore & More - Sprinkletz Embellishments - Bumble Bees - NK137, Ranger Glossy Accents, Picket Fence - Blending Brush, Xyron Creative Station, Cuttlebug

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Bear: E49, E37, E35, E34, E33, E31, R24, Colorless Blender, (Eyes and Nose - Sakura Glaze - Black, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen)

Babies Are Sweet Beginnings!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I'm sharing a Baby Card featuring Sweet Beginnings - S169 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I love this adorable stamp and I also have a few nieces that are pregnant right now. We are all looking forward to seeing pictures of the new little one's when they are born. Once Covid19 is over, hopefully, we will be able to travel again and see them in person.

To create the card this week, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I fussy cut around the image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers.

I created a card base made from Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. paper, folded to 5.5" x 4.25". For the background paper, I cut a piece the same size as the base from Echo Park - Hello Baby - It's a Girl. I attached this directly to the base with double-sided tape and then inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Spun Sugar. I popped up the coloured image using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape. Buddy's Present

It’s Wednesday, and this week I'm sharing another Christmas card featuring Buddy's Gift Block - R161 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sentiment Sm. Christmas Script - F051 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). Buddy and his little birdie friend are all set for Christmas with his gift all wrapped up for you? How soon do you start wrapping presents for Christmas?

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. Once it was all coloured in, I fussy cut around it and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I used some 2-sided tape and placed it onto some white cardstock. Then I used my cutter  to cut a thin border all around the image. I repeated this process with some red cardstock and edged around all of the sides with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Barn Door. I added some Stickles - Sea Glass around the inside border, Stickles - Icicle for the hat and pom-pom and some Clear - Wink of Stella to the all of the baubles and set everything aside to dry.

For the sentiment, I cut the the stamp in half so that I could place it on 2 lines. To stamp the sentiment, I used my MISTI, Versa Fine - Onyx Black ink and Ranger - Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. The powder was heat set using Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool.

For the base card I started out with white cardstock folded in half to create a 5.5" x 4.25" card. Doodlebug - Milk and Cookies paper was used for the background. I fussy cut along the bottom following the flow of the words. Some red cardstock was glued from the back onto the background paper and then I followed the flow of the previous cut to create a thin border. I repeated this process with some green cardstock. Once all of the 3 layers were complete, I cut the piece to be approximately 5-1/8" x 3.25". Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Mowed Lawn was used to go around all of the edges.

To assemble the card, I glued the combined background layers onto the base card.  The main image and frame created earlier were added using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to complete the card.

Stamp: Buddy's Gift Block - R161 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Stuffed with Love

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Angel Bear Scarecrow - T110 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Scarecrows Stuffed - H087 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. The turkey is hiding behind the angel bear for protection from becoming captured. He doesn't want to become someone's Thanksgiving Dinner. The crows are shrugging their shoulders, because they are just not sure what's going to happen! Let's hope this little angel bear can protect him. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple white card base, sized at 5.5" x 5.5". The base background was also cut at 5.5" x 5.5" using PhotoPlay - Mad 4 Plaid Fall paper. The added touches at the top and bottom are also from the same paper pad.

The main image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then die cut with My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies Layers. It was coloured in with Copic Markers and Sakura Glaze - Black pen was used for the eyes and nose. The layer behind the image was die cut from green cardstock using My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies. The sentiment square was die cut using orange cardstock and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. The image and sentiment were popped up on top of the remaining layers with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and some Kraftin' Kimmie Dots were added to finish the card off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Angel Bear Scarecrow - T110 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Sentiment: Scarecrows Stuffed - H087 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black

Buddy's Surprize!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using Buddy Bear's Surprise - S193 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Shhh Party! - H038 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Buddy is not very good at keeping secrets though or spelling! LOL! He is however, ready to bring you presents and party on!

To make my card this week, I started off with a card base of 5.5" x 4.25".  I love this background party paper by Echo Park called "It's Your Birthday". I cut it the same size as the base card and then used 2-sided tape to attach it to the base. Then I inked around the entire outside edges of the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Wilted Violet.

I used My Creative Time - Stitched Squares Inside and Out to cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Then I used my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the image. I coloured in the main image with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment onto some yellow cardstock with Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and then used Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set to die cut it out. Next, I ran both my image and sentiment through the Xyron Creative Station to turn them both into stickers. I applied both of these to some Violet cardstock and trimmed a small border. Lastly, I popped up both the image and the sentiment using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.
