Thanksgiving Mice

The leaves are starting to turn beautiful fall colours where I live and that means fall and Thanksgiving are just around the corner. I feel the leaves are changing early this year but it has inspired me to get my Thanksgiving cards started. White pumpkins are very popular where I live so I stepped out of my comfort zone and coloured the pumpkin on the "Harvest Mice" stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps as a white pumpkin instead of the traditional orange for my first Thanksgiving card of the year. How cute are these three!?!

After stamping on to alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers, added polka dots to the dress with a white gel pen and added some clouds with a cloud die cut and Tumbled Glass Distress ink. Then, I cut the image to size to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base and cut the bottom with a stitched edge die. I set that aside and cut some card stock and polka dot paper from Simple Stories to add to the card base. I used the same stitched border die for the card stock to put behind the stamp to help it stand out better. I stamped and cut the sentiment and tucked it under the stamped image. Enamel dots finish off my card.

First Day Of Fall

Happy first day of fall! Fall means cooler temperatures, pumpkin patches and corn mazes to run through and October and Thanksgiving are just around the corner. To help ring in a new season I have chosen to use "Country Harvest" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps a gorgeous fall stamp and I think perfect for a Thanksgiving card too!

After stamping and colouring the stamp with copic markers, I used a stitched edge die to cut an the bottom of the stamp. The stitches don't show but I wanted a clean curve edge for my design. I wanted to keep the patterned paper for the background and card design simple to keep the focus on the stamp so I chose a simple wood grain paper and put it on a 6x6 card base. After cutting the curve edge I mounted it on matching card stock and cut the edge again. To add a bit of colour I added some pieces of gingham patterned paper. A sentiment, twine and enamel dots finish off the card.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian Friends & Family!

Even though this has been a rough 2020 for many of us, I personally still have so much to be thankful for.  Family & friends make my world a special place.  I think of the goods times this year that we have been able to share, even if sometimes it is just a chat on the phone or a video call.  My Mom always said patience is a virtue...she was right.  We all need patience during these very trying times.

For this special Thanksgiving I created a little scene card using some of my favourite farm stamps from High Hopes....no turkey lol.  Farmer Clem (S119) & his little gang - Billy Goat (Q060), Brewster (H189) with Corn Stalk (M011) & Farm Fence (M045).  A simple sentiment Happy Thanksgiving (F203) finishes off my card.

Copic Combos

Farm Fence - E29, E27, E25, YG05, YG03

Billy Goad - E35, E33, E31, E30, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, R01, Y28, Y26

Corn Stalk - Y19, Y17, Y15, G43, G46, G40, Y23

Brewster - YR24, YR23, YR21, W4, W2, E08, E04, YR16, YR15

Farmer Clem - Overalls B99, B97, B95, B93, Shirt E09, E07, E04, Hat E35, E33, E31, Hair E29, E25, Skin E011, E01, E00, E000, E04, Pitch Fork E29, E25, C3, C1, C00, Grey C3, C1, C00, Scarf R59, R39, R45

I had such a good time fussy cutting all my little images for this scene card...yes I love to do that lol.  I edged each cut image with a black marker, doing that gets rid of the white edge on your images.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, Happy Thanksgivng!

Go Vegan!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and this month at High Hopes Rubber Stamps we are celebrating Fall.  This week, I made a pop-up card using Tom's Plea (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) who is pleading with everyone to go Vegan! Unfortunately, for Tom, I will probably still have Turkey for Thanksgiving! For me, Tofu turkey is just not as good. I'm sure he will still be able to sway quite a few people though. Actually, for years, we had ravioli and meatballs for Thanksgiving, because I used to work in the food industry creating the weekly food flyers, by the time Thanksgiving day came , I didn't even want to hear the word "turkey". LOL!

Card all popped up.

A rafter of turkeys!

Welcome to today's blog post!

I'm getting started on some Fall cards because I feel it sneaking up & it will be here before I'm ready for it.

I colored up both the Sm. Turkey P101 & the Lg. Turkey S211 from High Hopes.  I decided to color a few of each because I wanted some for my scrapbook pages as well as some Fall cards.  Then I got to thinking of the design for this card and I thought how about a small rafter of turkeys.  Originally I was going to use 5 but my card would have been huge so I paired that down to just 3.  I think it worked out quite well with just the 3.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving F203 sentiment, some ribbon & a few self adhesive enamel dots to finish it off.

Browns - E29, E27, E25, E23, E21, E31, E30
Red - R59, R29, R27
Grey - W6, W4, W2
Grey - W9, W7, W5, W3, W2, W1
Beige - E43, E42, E41
Red - R59, R29, R27
Cheeks - R01
I hope today's card inspires you to get crafty!  Be sure to follow our awesome Design Team this month as they share more Fall/Autumn cards everyday.
Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs,
