Spring Follows!

Welcome HH Fans;

It seems that winter doesn't want to go away for now.... but it will and spring will follow.  I can't wait for Spring to really arrive.  It is one of my favourite seasons as it signifies new beginnings -- grass starts to grow, leaves sprout on the trees, flowers start to bloom, and mother nature with baby bunnies, birds and other wildlife.  It is an uplifting time of the year for me.

For today's card, I have used the High Hopes Stamps called Garden Gate Background, Landing Birdie and Spring Follows.  The Garden Gate Background  and Landing Birdie were coloured with Copic Markers. I fuzzy cut the Landing Birdie (I definitely need to get a Brother Scan & Cut).  My original intention was to put the Birdie on a wobble, but even the mini wobble was too big.  I added a layer of glue dots to build it up a bit, so it gives the appearance that he is not flat against the gate.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Garden Gate Background (U012), Landing Birdie (H185), Spring Follows (LL009) all from High Hopes Rubber Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock; DP - Spring Plaid (Lawn Fawn)
  • Copic Markers:
    • E21 - Baby Skin Pink, E23 - Hazelnut, E25 - Caribe Cocoa, E27 - Africano, E29 - Burnt Umber, E30 - Bisque, E31 - Brick Beige, E40 - Brick white, E41 - Pearl White - E42 - Sand White
    • YG11 - Mignonette, YG12 - Chartreuse
    • BV000 - Iridescent Mauve, BV00 - Mauve Shadow, BV01 - Viola
    • Y17 - Golden Yellow, Y19 - Napoli Yellow, YR16 - Apricot
    • B000 - Pale Porcelain Blue, B00 - Frost Blue, B21 - Baby Blue, B23 - Phthalo Blue
    • N0- Neutral Gray No. 0, N2 - Neutral Gray No. 2
  • Your Next Stamps Gumdrops
  • Lawn Fawn Hemp
  • Zig Wink of Stella - Clear

Egg-Stra Special

Spring is here......sort of. We had snow again this weekend but that is pretty normal where I live. The week had been beautiful, sunny and cool so my thoughts have been turning to spring and with spring comes Easter!

The Easter bunny will be here soon enough and this cutie is only one of a few adorable bunnies High Hopes has that are perfect for Easter cards! This cutie has a gift....I wonder if it is a chocolate peanut butter egg?!

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers and used Prisamacolor pencils for a bit of shading and his ears then hand cut him leaving a thin white edge. Paper from Lawn Fawn and Echo Park were perfect for this cutie and I cut them to form my base layers, tag and wreath. Some gumdrops and enamel dots finish off my card and the stamp is popped up with foam pop dots.

Get Well Soon!

Welcome HH Fans;

I'm certainly glad that it is Friday and the weekend will soon be here.  It has been one those weeks, when nothing seems to have gone right.  To top it off, I wasn't able to find where I put a craft item that I wanted to use on today's card. Hopefully, I will eventually find it.

For today's card, I used this adorable English Rose from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  After stamping the image on XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured it with copic markers using colours that I usually don't use.  I added some Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops to the roses and on the die, which didn't quite work out the way I wanted.  Nuvo High Gloss White Crystal Drops was used in the corners.

Dear Spring......

I admit it, I'm winter weary and I have been thinking about Spring a lot!
This week I decided to have some fun with my thoughts of Spring and make a card for Spring. Weird right?! but maybe if Spring knows how much it is loved it will think about coming a little earlier then usual....<wink>

"Sitting Bee" and some fun spring coloured paper were perfect for my "thinking of you" card for Spring.

I coloured this cutie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge around the antennas. They were tough to cut and things went a little awry with the paper/scissor/knife combo I was using......sigh.........
Next I cut a piece of white card stock to size and cut a honey comb pattern die. I taped it on the cardstock using painters tape and used it as a stencil for my background. After I was done inking my background I added the sentiment using my Misit for perfect placement.

All of the paper is lightly edged with antique linen Distress ink.

Instead of throwing out my now blue honey comb pattern I decided it would be a perfect embellishment for this card along with some enamel dots and a pop of ribbon. I hope Spring likes her card and decides to come early!

Card Recipe
Stamp: Sitting Bee - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: One Of Those Days - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Spring Perfectly Plaid - Lawn Fawn

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, enamel dots - Gina Marie Designs, ribbon - stash, antique linen distress ink, honey comb pattern die - Whimsy

Spectrum Noir Markers: BG5 BG7 BG10 CT1 CT4 GY4 IG1 IG3 IG5 PP1 PP3 PP5
Copics: C00 R20

Miss Zoe

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have  a little bit of country.. Love Love Love these stamps from High Hopes Stamps. This is Miss Zoe ... and one cute little kitty!

Adorable right? I colored with my Copics (colors below) And found some pattern papers from Paper Studio that I "quilted" with a zig zag stitch. You know Miss Zoe loves quilts right? And Doileys too felt just too perfect. I added the sentiment "Just Because" - well Just because! A few vintage buttons on the top corner for embellishments!
