Mother's Day Fairy

Anyone else see a stamp they just have to have because it is so versatile and can be used for soooo many different occasions?

That is how I felt when I saw the "Fairy On A Leaf" stamp in the new "This & That" release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I think she will be perfect for Birthday, Thinking of You and Just Because cards and more but I have chosen to use her on a Mother's Day card this time. How sweet is this little fairy?!!

I stamped this sweet fairy on alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured her with Copic markers. I cut her out with a square die and used a corner punch to round the corners to help soften the feel of the card.

I love hand fussy cutting my stamps and this card is no exception....except there is a twist. After I cut the stamp using a square die, I laid a circle die over top of the image (I chose one slightly smaller then the image) and lightly traced the inside of the circle with a pencil. I cut a small hole into each section to get started, then cut around the inside of the pencil line and around the outside of the image leaving a small white edge and mounted it on matching card stock. This leaves some of the stamp edges on the outside of the circle instead of completely cutting the whole stamp.

Next I cut patterned paper from Honey Bee and Lawn Fawn and mounted them on card stock to fit the 5.5"x 5.5" card base, glued them down and added the stamped image. For a bit of interest I cut a thin square to put behind the stamp. Some cotton lace ribbon, a stamped sentiment and enamel dots finish off the card.

Gone Fishing!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fishing Shack - TLF038  for the image and Happy Birthday Script - FDG028  for the sentiment. I hope you have enjoyed all of the wonderful new stamps from our New Spring Release called "This and That" this month at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I know I have. This fishing shack is a wonderful image for all of those loved one's in your life who love fishing and would be perfect for a Father's Day card too!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25". I cut the fish cardstock from Photo-Play - Camp Happy Bear at 5.5" x 1.25" and Stampin' UP! Wood Textures paper to 5.5" x 3.25". I wanted to keep both of these piece completely flat on the base so I ran both pieces through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered both pieces to the base card, starting with the fishing pattern. I die cut some dark chocolate cardstock to the size of 4.25" x 3.25" using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies and popped it up onto the base using U-Line double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug again and this time, My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers at the size of 4.25" x 3", I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I stamped the main image onto this die cut and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers and then double-side tape was applied to the back of it. This was  attached to the card over top of the larger rectangle. I fussy cut around the sentiment and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I applied it to the dark chocolate card stock and fussy cut around it again. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the bottom half of the sentiment and liquid glue to the top portion. This was then adhered to the bottom of the card. I added in 3 little fishes from Buttons Galore & More - Sprinkletz Fish Tank to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Fishing Shack - TLF038 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Birthday Script - FDG028 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Fairy Special Day!

Happy Tuesday!
I always love Tuesdays because it means I'm sharing a card using an image from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Today I got to colour up this cutie called "Fairy on a Log" from the "This & That" release.
I'm in love with these papers from the Paper Rose "Rainbows & Unicorns" 6x6 collection. I coloured my image with my Copic Sketch Markers to match my papers. Using a Gina Marie Frilly Lace Square die, I cut out the image. I thought the HH sentiment called "Fairy Special Day" was perfect for my card! I added some glitter pen to her wings and some enamel hearts to finish off my card.

Handstand Frog

Howdy - MichelleO hoppin by today! Now seriously how can you not giggle at a frog that can do handstands? Yep! This is High Hopes Stamps "Handstand Frog" talented little guy huh?

Cute too. I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then cut out with an oval die. The pattern paper is from Graphic 45 that is sewn down onto a scrap green polka dot paper. White card stock all sewn together with a fun zig zag stitch.

The sentiment "Just hoppin' by to say hi!"  is punched out with an EK Success ticket punch and then the edges with green copic marker for a faux mat around the ticket. Then the card just needed some flowers right? So three mulberry flowers with a Martha Stewart leaves punch.

Fun bright happy card!

Fairy Flight with Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone;

Friday has rolled around again -- how the time has flown by, just like this Fairy taking flight to deliver some birthday wishes.

For today's card, I have used the adorable Fairy Flight, from High Hopes Stamps latest release called "This & That".

After colouring it with Copic Markers on copic friendly paper, I cut it out using a Stained Glass Border Rectangle die.  Unfortunately, the camera didn't capture the effects of the Shimmer Sheet from Elizabeth Crafts that I put behind the main image.  You can tell that there is something along the border, but the shimmering effect isn't visible.  Some Clear Zig Wink of Stella was used on the Fairy's wings.

Some Twine, Jewel Gumdrops and a flower finished off this CAS card.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Fairy Flight -- SLF036, Happy Birthday Script - FDG028 both from the "This & That" Release -- High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  Xpress It Blending Cardstock; DP -- Lucy Cromwell - Papermania, Shimmer Sheets - Elizabeth Crafts
  • Copic Markers:
    • Skin:  E0000 - Floral White, E000 - Pale Fruit Pink, E01 - Pink Flamingo, R20 - Blush
    • Hair:  E30 - Bisque, E31 - Brick Beige, E33 - Sand, E34 - Toast
    • Dress & Socks:  R85 - Rose Red, R83 - Rose Mist, R81 - Rose Pink
    • Wings & Shoes:  V0000 - Pale Thistle, BV000 - Iridiscent Mauve
  • Die:  Stained Glass Border Rectangle - Gina Marie Design
  • Zig Wink of Stella - Clear,
  • Jewels Gumdrops - Your Next Stamps
  • Miscellaneous:  Flower, Twine

Baked With Love

I have a large number of people in my life who love to bake. I don't mind it once and awhile but it isn't my "thing" like it is for some people. The bonus in my world is when I get to be the taste tester of baking experiments even if they don't turn out perfect <wink>. They all say there is a secret ingredient in their baking....won't tell me what of course.......but I think there is a smidge of love in whatever they make.

Add to that some of these same people love gnomes and the new "Baking Gnome" from High Hopes is perfect for making cards for them. I have a number of occasion cards rolling around in my brain for this stamp.......it's just getting the time to get them out of my brain and made! <smile>

After stamping on to alcohol marker friendly paper, I fussy cut him and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. I set him aside and found patterned paper from MFT and Lawn Fawn and cut them to fit my A2 size card base.
A stitched tag was the perfect backdrop for this adorable chef so I cut two out of white and red card stock, layered them and added the stamp with foam pop dots. I stamped the sentiment and added it to matching card stock. A die cut spoon and whisk, a bow and some die cut hearts finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Baking Gnome (SLF035) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiment - Baked With Love (FLL031) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper: Gingham Galore - MFT, Watercolor Wishes Rainbow - Lawn Fawn

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, foam pop dots, stitched nesting tags - Tutti Designs, ribbon, heart die - Your Next Stamp, spoon and whisk die - Alexandra Reneke

Just Chick-en In!!!!

 Hello everyone!!

So glad to see you came back to checkout my latest creation!  I had an absolute blast making this card.  Everything about it reminds me of being on my Aunt & Uncle's farm when I was younger.  They were dairy farmers & I loved being there whenever I could.  Okay....I love chickens too lol.

This adorable image is part of our new "This & That" release & it's called "Chicken Stack" which I have paired with the sentiment "Just Chick-en In".

I knew somewhere in my stash of paper I had an older Bella Blvd Barnyard pad & I found it.  I also used the 6 x 6 MFT pad called "Tiny Check".  I think they look great together, don't you?

Burlap & some twine with some adorable red buttons finish off this card's embellies.  I used an older Avery Elle die called Wonky Stitches to stamp my image on...I thought it fit just right with those wacky little chickens.

Copic combos

Brown - E99, E97, E95

Grey - W4, W2, W0, W00

Beaks - YR27, YR24, YR23

Legs & Feet - E13, E11, E00

Grass - YG67, YG63, YG61

Spring is in the Air!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Turtle Stack - TLF035 for the image and Spring Is In The Air - FDG036 for the sentiment. Really loving the New Spring Release called "This and That" at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! This image could also be used for birthday's too.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25". I attached Scrapbook.com - Playful Smooth Cardstock to the base using double-sided tape. Using W R Memory Keepers - Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper - I cut the corners using the 1/4". Using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts - Infinity Dies - Rounded Rectangle, I die cut the following papers: Scrapbook.com - Jewels Smooth Cardstock, Your Next Stamp - Happy Spring cardstock and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked around the edges of the base card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber and around the floral background with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint. I applied U-Line double-sided tape onto the floral background and solid green background and popped up both onto the base card. I stamped the image onto the small rectangle that I had cut out of the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black. The sentiment was also stamped with the same ink and then fussy cut. I inked around the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint and set it aside for later. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I applied multiple layers of U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and applied one layer to the back of the main image and popped them both up on the card. Lastly, I added some pop-dots to complete the card.

Happy Easter!

Hi!
Easter is around the corner and when I saw this cutie called "Easter Gnome" from the new "This & That" release over at High Hopes Stamps, I knew I had to make a card with it! I mean it doesn't get much cuter than this! I mean look at that cutie peeking out from behind!
Today's papers are from the Echo Park "Welcome Spring" 6x6 collection. I love the pastel colours in this collection. Pastel says "spring" to me and it can't come soon enough after this long snow filled winter. I stamped the image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured "Easter Gnome" to match my paper selections. I used a Gina Marie Double Roped Circle die to cut out the coloured image and popped it up with foam tape. I love the "Egg-Stra Special" sentiment! Some enamel dots finish off my card.
Copics Used:
Gnome: E00, E11, E21/ C00, C0, C1, C3, R01, R02
Gnomes outfit: R81, R83, BG32, BG34, BG13
Bunny: W0, W1, W3, R20
Carrot: YR04, YR07, YR09

Fairy on Log

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this week for High Hopes Stamps I colored up a sweet little Happy Image. "Fairy on Log" -

Isn't she sweet? She is colored with my Copics (colors used) and then added some Viva Decor Glitter - all fairy wings need some bling right? Along with a pattern paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug Sugar collection. White card stock base and green card stock mat all sewn together!

The High Hopes Stamps sentiment "Hello Sunshine"  fit just perfect with this happy little fairy. I punched the sentiment with an EK Success punch. Then to finish it off a mulberry flower and Martha Stewart leaves punch.

Really love the warm .... well happy feeling of this one.

It's been a while...I missed you all!

 Happy Friday Friends,

I've been away from creating cards for a while, I'm happy to be back.  I haven't had a lot of time to do my own creating because here at High Hopes we have been working on getting new releases ready & getting all your orders shipped out.  But, I decided to take a little me time to make some cards.  This masculine themed card idea came about when I was coloring the image, which by the way is called "Fishing Shack", for the website.  My son is HUGE into fishing & so are several of his friends...not sure who's getting this card yet but one of them will.  I paired the Fishing Shack with a nice Happy Birthday sentiment.

I used a very masculine Memory Box 6 x 6 pad called "Woodsy Plaid"....I absolutely love this paper.  It's a 2021 pad so you can probably still find it...worth the effort to look for it.  I also used a YNS stitched rectangle dies & Gina Marie double stitched rectangle die.  I added some twine & a few buttons for dimension.

Copic combos

Roof - W8, W6, W4, B39, B37

Shack Browns - E27, E25, E23, E21

Window - B000, B0000

Window & Door Frames Blues  - B39, B37, B34

Fish - YG95, YG93, YG91

Grass - YG17, YG13, YG05

Some Bunny Loves You

Welcome Everyone;

I just love it, when stamps can be used for so many different occassions, such as birthdays, Easter, Valentine's Day, as well as no reason at all, but just to give a card.

Spring In The Air

I don't know about anyone else but I am ready for spring! As I type this, we are yet again cleaning up from some unexpected winter weather - snow, cold, and blowing snow that reduced visibility so bad they had to close the roads. Earlier in the week we had a couple days of above zero temperatures, blues skies and gorgeous sun.

Yes, I am ready for spring....maybe not the mud .... but I am ready for sun and blue skies and that is what inspired my card. The new "Spring Pond" stamp from the This & That new release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps was the perfect backdrop for my spring scene that also includes the previously released "Waddles" and her adorable little ones. It is a beauty of a day for a spring walk.....I wonder if they will pop in for a swim too......

I stamped both stamps on alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured them with Copic markers. I hand fussy cut both stamps leaving a thin white edge around the ducks and set them aside. The Waddles stamp has a cattail and butterfly on it as well but I just wanted to use the ducks for this card.
I found some patterned paper from Craft Consortium that I thought worked well with the scene I wanted to create. I cut the patterned paper pieces to size and then used some of the pieces I cut off to cut out some grass with a die and added them into my scene. I added Waddles using foam pop dots to add some dimension.
I stamped and cut my sentiment to size and added some stitched puffy clouds, twine and enamel dots to finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Spring Pond (TLF034), Waddles (TT138) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiment - Spring Is In The Air (FDG036) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Birthday Wishes!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fairy Flight - SLF036  for the image and Birthday Wishes - FDG024  for the sentiment. There are a lot of birthdays in our family during March, friends too, and this little birthday fairy is on her way to grant one of them their special birthday wishes.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25". Scrapbook.com - Roses Smooth Cardstock was adhered to the base using double-side tape.  I die cut Creative Memories - Mermaid Cove Designer Paper Pack using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Layers and adhered it to the rose background using double-sided tape. Using Gina Marie Designs - Petite Looped Lace Rectangle Die Set, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.

The image and sentiment were then stamped with my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I added some stars onto the dress with Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen and then used Wink of Stella - Clear over top of the flower, dress, shoes and wings. Using R85 and R83 Copic markers, I went around the edges of the die cut for the image to create a solid border. I fussy cut around the sentiment and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I attached the sentiment to Scrapbook.com - Peppermint Smooth Cardstock and fussy cut around it again. The card was now ready to finish being assembled. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and sentiment and popped them up onto the card. Lastly, I added in some YNS Gumdrops to complete the card.

Hoppin' By!

Happy Tuesday!
Just "hoppin" in to share my card today using the High Hopes stamp called "Handstand Frog". He sure is showing off his gymnastic skills LOL! This cutie is from the New Release "This & That" that started March 1st!
My card has a real simple design today with just 2 designer papers from the Polkadoodles "Splashing Around" 6x6 collection. I stamped the cute frog onto Copic friendly paper, coloured it with my Copic markers and then using a Zig Zag Oval die from MFT, cut it out. I aways like using foam tape to pop up my image as it adds dimension and interest to your card. The HH sentiment called "Just Hoppin" is perfect to use with "Handstand Frog"! A bit of twine with a bow, finish off my card.
Copics Used:
Frog: G29, G28, YG17, YG03, YG01
Lily Pad: YG61, YG63, YG67/ R81, R83
Water: BG0000, BG000, BG01

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have a confession - I have totally Fallen in Love with the new images at High Hopes Stamps!! Seriously how can you not love a group of chickens all stacked up?? This is "Chicken Stack" and "Barn" - can you swoon over new stamps?

Well I do when they are this adorable!! I colored up the two images matted and sewed down the barn and then cut out the chickens. The pattern paper is from old stash and just loved that it matched up with the whole chicken theme. The sentiment is a new favorite! " Just Chick-en in!" so fun and perfect with these stacked up chickens. The whole thing just makes me giggle!

Sorry I'm a Little Behind!

Hi Everyone;

There are times when I am and seem to be behind in everything.  Sometime it's something I'm working on for work.  Other times it's something like housework, which is always behind.

Now if I didn't want to play with this adorable Turtle Peak paired with the sentiment called Sorry I'm from High Hopes Stamps' latest release "This & That".  I probably wouldn't be behind so much ....  maybe, maybe not...  These stamps are just so adorable and fun to play with.

After colouring the image with Copic Markers, I used only on the Square Outline Die to cut a plain square and mounted it on to beige cardstock.  Some Morning Dew (Nuvo Crystal Drops) was added to the flower centers, and the enamel dots finish off this very simple CAS card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Turtle Peak - SLF033, Sorry I'm - FLL030; both from High Hopes Stamps "This & That" Release
