Just Married

 Happy Saturday HH Fans,

So yesterday I posted thinking it was Saturday, lol.  It messes me all up when we have a Friday off.  But today really is Saturday or at least I think it is.

Today we are bringing Just Married out of retirement, just in time for Wedding season.  Just love this adorable couple.

I didn't take a picture but on the inside of this card I used the sentiment Hoping Your Day.

I wanted a very simple & clean card but didn't want it all to be white.  I used a stipple brush & Memento Lulu Lavender around the edge of my card to give it some texture.

My Favorite

How adorable are these two!?! My son's fiance loves sloths so when I saw the Sloth Love stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps I knew I had to make a card for her with them. My son may even want this card to give her........but if he doesn't, I will put some birthday wishes inside for her.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I went around the edges with a black marker to get any white I may have missed. An old paper pad from Bo Bunny was perfect for my card design so I cut everything to fit my A2 card base. I used some watercolor paper for the circle background behind them.

All the paper edges were inked with Tea Dye Distress ink before I glued down the layers. The sentiment is one long sentiment but I cut it after stamping it and put it on matching card stock. A cute ribbon bow, some flowers with diamond painting drills in the centre and some enamel dots finish off my card.

The stamp names and links are below but be sure to check out the 40% off Easter Sale going on now! Don't forget the coupon code! Happy Easter.

Puppy Birthday Time

 Happy Monday HH Fans!

We are opening the Retirement Vault again today to bring back Puppy Love.  Now who doesn't love an adorable puppy?!

I wanted to create something a little brighter for this card, it snowed here on Friday and it made me kinda grumpy.  So to brighten my spirits I picked Puppy Love to colour up & share with all of you.  It's hard to believe that it's Spring & we have snow here....gosh what is Mother Nature thinking?

I love that you can't see this puppy's eyes it makes me wonder when the fun chase is going to start with that cute little bird.  Or is he thinking let's be bad together?

Falling For You

I love when the High Hopes Retirement vault is opened and some of the cutest stamps come back. This week the vault has been opened and the adorable Floating Hedgie is back in the High Hopes line up. It is hard not to smile with him....he is having so much fun!

We had an old shed in our back yard growing up and my brothers and I had a discussion a few times about using a towel or a blanket to jump off the roof to see if we could fly.......some how I think my Mom is very happy we didn't go through with testing that out! We will leave the cuteness and flying with a blanket to Floating Hedgie I think <wink>

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. Patterned paper from Mintay, Echo Park and MFT were a perfect combination to create my scene. After cutting the papers to fit the 5.5"x 5.5" base, I added a strip of grass and some flowers to give him a place to land. I added some clouds to the sky and the stamp was added with foam pop dots. The sentiment was stamped, cut and mounted to matching card stock. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Crazy For You

The High Hopes retirement vault has opened and these adorable piglets decided they want to come out and be part of the fun. I have a girlfriend who loves pigs and I think this is perfect for her and her significant other. They are perfect for an Anniversary, Valentine's Day or I love you card don't you think?

After stamping these cuties on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and found a patterned paper combination from an Echo Park paper pad meant for babies but they worked perfectly for this pair. I cut them to fit my A2 size card base, cut card stock to fit and glued them down. I added some ribbon before gluing down the centre pieces and did a simple knot instead of a bow. Next I stamped the sentiment, put it on matching card stock and added it to the design. The piglets are added with foam dots. Some die cut hearts and enamel dots finish off my card.

Love is in the air!

Happy Friday HH Fans!

Today I'm opening the Retirement Vault to re-release an image I miss so much.  This cutie is called Love Birds & is designed by Dina Gerner.  It's perfect for an anniversary, wedding or just to say I love you.  For my card today I have paired Love Birds with our sentiment called My Favorite.

Have you every thought about why you make cards?  In today's fast-paced world, where digital communication dominates, there's something truly special about receiving a handmade card.  Each card is crafted with love and care, these tangible tokens carry not just a message, but a piece of my heart.  That's why I do what I do.  Leave me a comment & let me know why you make cards.

For this card I decided to dust off my Distress Inks, I haven't used them in such a long time.  I created the background on the card base with my ink blending tool using Mustard Seed & Broken China.  I love how blending the yellow & blue created a almost perfect match to the green in the leaves.

Lazy Daisy Gift Set

We have had a lot of spring type weather where I live. Normally we are covered in a ton of snow at this time of year, but this year we have had a lot of sun and double digit temperatures. It feels like spring and spring to me means flowers!!

I planted some daffodil bulbs in the summer and they have started to come up already! I am hoping the little bit of snow and freezing temperatures we had on the weekend don't kill them but somehow I think they will be alright. The new daffodils and a tulip coming up inspired my cards for this week. I decided to do a card gift set featuring the Lazy Daisy Lady Bug stamp and a number of sentiments from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Am I the only one ready to see some spring flower beauty in the flower beds?

After stamping the image 5 times on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out using a square die. Next, I grabbed my Misti and some of my favourite High Hopes sentiment and stamped each daisy with it's own sentiment. Truth be told, the two smaller Just A Note cards are the result of a sentiment I masked off that I didn't stamp straight, so I trimmed them down to create two smaller cards. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple for this set and added them to a piece of black card stock. There are three 4.5" x 4.5" cards and two approximately 4" x 3.25" cards in this set and I am hoping someone in my life will be able to use them.

Monday Makes - Let's Do Easter Week 4

 Happy Monday HH Fans!

Welcome to Monday Makes Let's Do Easter Week 4, we are so happy you could join us!

This week I have chosen Bunny Masterpiece because it reminds me of when my children were young & we had a ball colouring Easter eggs.  Oh and this little mishap below....

One year my daughter decided she was going to do her eggs all on her own.  I happened to be out that day & she was with Daddy.  So Daddy thinks she's having fun in her toy room playing.  He doesn't think...hmmm seems pretty quite in the house...nope!  I come home to find my daughter covered in paint, thankfully water based, from head to toe.  I can't even tell you how bad the toy room looked.  My girl was so proud of her creations and I have to say they looked a lot better than her or the room.  The problem wasn't the mess I had to clean up, it was that she used fresh eggs.  Easter was a month away, I didn't think they would keep that long.  Well we gave it a go & they made it for Easter...but as soon as Easter was over they were gone to the compost bin.  I wish I had the pictures of the mess & the eggs it would have been great to share with this little story.  Needless to say we went with hard boiled after that & made them a few days before Easter lol.

1st Birthday

I love to colour and have a drawer in my craft room with a lot of coloured High Hopes Stamps in it. This week, I challenged myself to go through the drawer and see what inspired me. "Baby Elephant" jumped out at me, I thought he would be perfect for a first birthday card.

I stamped this cutie on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and then hand fussy cut the stamp leaving a thin white line. Patterned paper from Echo Park and PhotoPlay were perfect for this adorable stamp and I cut them to fit the A2 size card base and design. To create the sentiment, I masked off each word and stamped them in a line (the sentiment is stacked) leaving enough room for a die cut number 1 and hand printed "st". To finish off hte card I added some die cut balloons, enamel dots and the stamp is added with 3D foam pop dots.

Lucky's Pot O Gold

I'm still rushing to get my St. Patrick's Day cards done.  For this one I picked Lucky's Pot O Gold.  I typically don't find myself making A2 size cards but that's what I picked for this card.

I pulled out & dusted off one of my corner rounders haven't used one in a long time.  I thought the rounded base would be a nice little touch.

I stamped Pot O Gold on Copic friendly cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I coloured with Copic (list below) & I created the little grass tuffs by flicking the tip of my marker up on the cardstock.  I should have done that step after I had blended the grass shading before doing the tuffs but it worked out ok.
