A Bird Told Me

Like most crafters I know, I can never have too many Birthday cards in my stash. My post today is just such a card and it features "Bird Watch" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

How adorable is this bear peeking over the bird bath to chat with his bird friend! He just makes me smile and I hope the person who receives the card does too.

After stamping this cutie I coloured it using Copic markers, hand fussy cut him and ran a black marker on the outside of the stamp to get any white I had missed. Patterned paper from Craft Consortium was perfect for my background to add a few puffy clouds and a couple strips of grass. I stamped the sentiment, cut it to size and mounted it on matching card stock.
Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Surfing Gabriel!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Surfing Gabriel - TT516 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and No Waves - FR011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Gabriel is enjoying the waves and the bright skies. I can't wait for the weather to warm up here so that I can start swimming again too!

To make my card this week, I die cut a square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. A larger square was cut using Waffle Flower - Nesting Square dies and spare blue cardstock. The image and sentiment were both stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then, I created a mask and put it over top of the coloured image and added in my clouds using various Tim Holtz inks listed below and Avery Elle - Pierced Clouds Die (Used to create stencils). To create the spray on the waves, I mixed a little bit of FolkArt - Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint and Delta Ceramcoat - White paint and applied it to the coloured image using a 1/4" H.J. Domed Dry Stipple brush. For a little extra sparkle, I added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while the paint was still wet.

Brother Scan and Cut was used to die-cut around the sentiment. Edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch. A second circle was die cut using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies - Nesting Circles out of aqua cardstock and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers.

To assemble the card, I used Recollections - Winter 4.25" x 5.5 for the base. Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Salty Ocean was used to ink around the edges of the card. The coloured image was glued to the larger square and the sentiment was glued to the larger circle. 3M VHB - 2 sided tape was attached to the backs of the larger circle and square and attached to the base card. To finish it off, YNS Gumdrops were added.

Bugs and Kisses!

Happy Tuesday!
Oh my gosh, I just love this "Buggy Stack" from High Hopes Stamps! Look at those cute little faces!!!I had so much fun colouring these adorable "buggies"! The HH sentiment "Bugs and Kisses" goes perfectly with this sweet card!
I stamped my image with Copic friendly ink on some Copic friendly paper and then coloured in the bugs. I tried to colour the butterfly to resemble a Monarch. Using my Brother Cut N Scan, I cut out the image and a matching outline in red. I decided to keep my card design simple and just ran a piece of white cardstock through my machine using a Darice Large Petal embossing folder. For a twist, I cut the "Bugs and Kisses" sentiment into 3 pieces and adhered using foam tape. I love how the image pops off the white background!
Copics Used:

Oops Ellie

Howdy MichelleO here today - I know we all need that card for that birthday that slipped our mind... And this image from High Hopes Stamps is PERFECT! This is "Oops Ellie"- I just love her!

She is so pretty.. and again perfect for that card that you need for a little late birthday wish. I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then I cut out Ellie to use her on the pattern paper from 3Bugs. I have used the stripes part of this pattern paper, but I just never could cover up that flower... so with this card I used it as the background for Ellie. I used grey card stock for a base and sewed with a zig zag stitch to attach. The  sentiment as from High Hopes Stamps "I can't Believe I forgot!" I cut out with the EK Success punch and then used a Comic to create a faux mat around it. - Simple card but I like it. I like how Ellie pops a bit n the card. Happy accident.

Happy Birthday

Good morning HHS friends and welcome.
Today I bring you a fun birthday card!

For my card I'm used "Time Well Spent" and the sentiment is "Bold Happy Birthday" from High Hopes Stamps

To start my card I stamped the image with black ink and colored with alcohol markers. Used my white jelly pen to doodle some lines. Since my pattern paper is pretty busy I keep my embellishments to the minimum. I adhesive my main image with foam tape to give a bit of dimension. To finish my birthday card I stamped my sentiment and layered over gold cardstock. Beautiful right?

Thank you for visit my blog today.
Have a BLESS day.

Welcome HH Fans;

It would certainly be nice if the weather got a bit warmer and the grass becomes greener and longer, so that Bob can mow his lawn.  He certainly looks like he is enjoying it.

For today's card, I have used Lawnmower Bob from the Men and Boys' collection that was recently released from the Retirement Vault.

You Rock!

Today I am sharing a card I think can be used for many different occasions. I have a number of young people in my life who have achieved some major milestones even though we are in a pandemic.

This card can be used as a congratulations, non traditional thank you, to celebrate a major accomplishment, or to show appreciation to name a few. This stamp just makes me smile and I hope it makes the recipient smile too!

I went with a CAS (clean and simple) look for this card. I cut my white card stock to size and swooshed some Tumbled Glass Distress ink randomly on to it. Next I cut a piece of matching green card stock to put behind it.
I temporarily placed the dragon on the card front and using my Misti, placed and stamped the sentiment directly on to the background.
After gluing the white card stock to the green and adding it to the card base I added the dragon with foam pop dots.
Enamel dots finish off this CAS style card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Stunt Dragon - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: You Rock! - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Surfer Bob!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Surfer Bob - TT519 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Surf's Up - FR009 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Wild and crazy Bob has awesome balance on his surf board. We had the opportunity to see surfers in Hawaii riding the waves on one of our trips. It was amazing!!! I've never tried surfing before, but I would sure love to. It's definitely on my bucket list. LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. paper folded to 4.25" x 5.5" for the base. I cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the same size as the base and stamped the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and created my own background.

To create the background, I first created a mask of Surfer Bob using Post-It Note paper and fussy cut around the image. Then I put it over top of the coloured image. Using a Picket Fence - Blending Brush and Lawn Fawn - Cloudy Stencil, I began the top of the sky with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Salty Ocean. I did this for 2 rows and then switched to Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, followed by Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink - Broken China. The mask was removed and the water was created by just adding a mixture of strokes with the Copic colours listed below.

I added double-sided tape to the coloured image and attached it to the base. Then, I mixed a little bit of FolkArt - Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint and Delta Ceramcoat - White paint. Using a 1/4" H.J. Domed Dry Stipple brush, I created the water spray for the waves. For a little extra sparkle, I added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while the paint was still wet.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Surfer Bob - TT519 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Surf's Up - FR009 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink - Broken China

Hugs To Cheer You!

Hello!
Sometimes you just need a card to cheer a friend up and to let them know you are there! "Andy & Alex Mouse" from High Hopes Stamps along with the sentiment "Hugs To Cheer You" makes the sweetest card to give to someone dear to you! You could also use this image for a Valentine's or Anniversary card!
Sometime ago I went through my 6x6 paper pads. I kept the pads I liked and ripped out paper from some pads that I only liked a few of the papers from. Anything left I donated to our neighbour's daughter who is a teacher. Her class loved them and used them in their art classes. This paper is from the ripped out papers so I have no idea who made it. All I know is that it was perfect for Andy & Alex! I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and using my Copic markers coloured it in to match my papers. Next I cut around the image with a Stitched Scallop Circle from Memory Box. Some twine and enamel dots finish off my card.
Copics Used:
Mice: N0, N1, N2, N3, R01, R02, R20
Andy: R35, R46, R59/ YR21, YR23, YR24
Alex: R81, R83, R85, R89/ R35, R46, R59
Grass: YG91, YG93

Rainy Day Ducky

Howdy,  MichelleO here today and this week I though maybe if I colored up a little High Hopes Stamps "Rainy Day Ducky" that we might just get a little rain here. If not it sure was fun to play with this cute little Ducky!

Sweet right? I colored up with my Copics (colors below) to match up to some spring colored papers from My Minds Eye. Love all the pastels! All the layers are sewn down with a zig zag stitch and then I added some Nuvo Glitter to the water to make sure that it sparkles! The sentiment also from High Hopes Stamps matches up perfect with the little Ducky image "Dot Rain or Shine" - sweet sentiment for a friend to send a smile with the adorable "Rainy Day Ducky"

Copic colors used -

Bob's Tubing Fun

I have tried tubing in the past and I had fun but it I only tried it once. I was with some friends in a spot in the river where we weren't supposed to be and there was one tiny spot on a rock you had to catch with your finger tips or you would end up going down some really dangerous rapids. I caught it but barely and honestly didn't try it again.

My Dad tried tubing as well but he was being pulled by my uncle in a boat. He had to show us kids he could still have fun so he crawled in to the tube and away we went. I remember the smile on his face........but I don't think it was quite as big as the one Bob has on the "Tubing Bob" stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. This immediately brought back the fun memories with my Dad an I hope it does for him too.

I coloured Bob with Copic markers after stamping him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut him out using a circle die. It is hard to see in the photo but I added some glossy accents to his glasses.
I cut a card stock circle to go behind him with my Fiskars circle cutter. After finding some patterned paper from Bo Bunny that matched my card theme I cut out the pieces to fit my design. This design is based loosely on a card I saw from Kristine Marcotte and was perfect for this fun stamp.
I kept the paper monochromatic to keep the focus on the stamp. Antique linen on all the edges gives the layers some definition and helps them pop. The two rectangle panels are popped up with foam pop dots and Bob was glued to them after they were placed. Some photo corners, twine and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Tubing Bob - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: Happy Father's Day - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Beach Therapy - Bo Bunny

Soccer Fun!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Soccer Gabriel - SS525 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Awesome & Wonderful - FR001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Soccer has become a really big sport in North America over the last while. In Europe, they call it "Football"! We have 6 soccer fields at the end of our street in the park and before Covid, the fields were packed with both young and old from morning till night with teams competing. It looks like Gabriel is saving the day for his team today! LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. paper folded to 4.25" x 5.5" for the base. I cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and stamped the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and created my own background.

To create the background it was fairly easy. After stamping the main image, I drew in the net using a lead pencil and ruler for the main frame and the goal line. Once I was satisfied with the look, I erased the harsh lines so that they were barely visible. I used a combination of green Copic markers and just made small circles everywhere to give the lawn some texture. I also used the chisel edge nib to cover more of the background easier. For the trees, again I used another combination of greens. I based the entire tree line with YG91 and then just drew a bunch of squiggly lines to create round and triangular shapes using the various markers listed below to give the effect of a forest. Lastly, I took a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen and using a ruler made vertical and horizontal lines to create the netting.

To assemble the card, I applied some Tombow Multi Mono Liquid glue to the back of the coloured image and applied it to the base. I stamped out the sentiment and inked around the edges first with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Mowed Lawn and then a black marker to make the outer lines crisp.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Soccer Gabriel - SS525 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Awesome & Wonderful - FR001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Mowed Lawn

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb.

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Tombow - Multi Mono Liquid Glue

Let's Waterski!

Hello!
The vault is open over at High Hopes and the Men & Boy's have come out to play! Meet "Waterskiing Bob"! Bob must be on vacation somewhere as it certainly isn't warm enough here yet for water sports LOL. I always love how happy Bob is, he always has a smile on his face!
I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and then used my Copic markers to colour my image to match my papers. Today's papers are from the Doodlebug's "Anchors Away" and Echo Park's "Summer Party" 6x6 collections. After colouring Bob, I cut him out using a stitched square die and them popped that up on my card with foam squares. I used the HH sentiment called "World's Best Father". Some clear glitter pen on the waves and a few enamel dots finish off my card. Waterskiing Bob makes a great Father's Day or even a great birthday card for Dad!

He's having some fun! I colored with my Comics (colors below) and then cut him out so he would pop on the card. I found some cloud paper in my stash and then a couple of bright card stock pieces to sew together with a zig zag stitch and placed it all on a white card stock base. I love the circle sentiment from High Hopes Stamps "No Waves" To make the water feel a bit more like water, I added some Nuvo glitter to the waves in the image. And since they were on my desk and matched and felt fun I added some enamel dots to the card. I just love enamel dots... sigh.

Butterfly Smiles

I can never have too many Just Because type cards in my stash. "Butterfly Chick" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is a fun, versatile image that makes me smile and I hope it will do the same for the person I send it to.

I challenged myself to step out of my square card comfort zone and went on the hunt for a different shape of card. Slimline cards are quite popular in the crafting world but the mini slimline style peeked my curiosity. There are a couple different sizes out there but the finished size of 3" x 6" fit my stamp the best. I am very happy with the end result and I see more of this style in my future.

After stamping my image, I coloured it with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. Next I found some paper from two different collections from Lawn Fawn that worked together and cut them to size. I used a stitched scalloped edge to cut the edge of one piece for some added interest.
Next I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using a fish tail banner die. I added the stamp to the card using foam pop dots and added some ribbon over the corner and enamel dots to finish off my card.
