Snow Friend

Howdy - MichelleO here today for High Hopes Stamps I had some fun with a chilly "Snow Friend" this week!

Love the warm feel of this image despite all that cold snow. My "Snow Friend"  is colored with my Copics and then topped off with Nuvo white and Glitter Sparkles. Gotta love the bling! I found some pattern papers from Graphic 45 that had the vintage fun feel I was looking for. I layered and sewed things together with a cream colored card stock mat and then a kraft cardstock base for my card. The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps - "Friendship Warms the Heart" felt like the perfect sentiment for my snowman and his bird friend. I punched the sentiment out with a EK Success Ticket punch.

Copic colors used -

This one makes me smile - although I am ready for some warmer weather and flowers! Brrrr. hope it is warm where you are!

Friends are the Best Collectibles

Welcome Everyone;

Beginning in our childhood to adulthood, we have all collected objects whether it be rocks in the garden, shells from a beach, our favourite books, pieces of art etc.  However, there is really only one type of collectibles that qualifies to be the "Best Collectibles" and that is the friends we meet throughout our life journey.

For today's card, I have used the adorable Lasso Some Snow stamp from High Hopes Stamps, Winter Friends Release and paired it with the Best Collectibles sentiment.  Innstead of lassoing the snow, he is rounding up some friends.

After stamping the image onto XPress It Blending cardstock, I coloured it with Copic Markers, and then cut it out using a Spellbinders Square Die.  The mat behind the image was cut using a Double Stitched Square Die.  Some twine and enamel dots finished off the card.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Lasso Some Snow - TDG021, Best Collectibles - FDG017; both from Winter Friends Release by High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock; DP: Winter Wonderland & Winter Wonderland Solids (both from Doodlebug)
  • Copic Markers:

Snow Fun!

We haven't had a ton of snow like we usually do by now where I live, but we did get a bit of a dumping early last week and it was just enough for the kids to be able to get their toboggans and sleds out. Last Sunday was a beautiful, sunny but cold winter day and my neighbours littles got all bundled up to go tobogganing.

It brought back memories of when I was little and my brothers and I would be out all day tobogganing and playing in the snow. "Snowman Dash" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps reminds me of these fun, innocent times and made me smile as I remember seeing the littles across the street all bundled up and watching their breath in the cold air - so fun!

After stamping and colouring these cuties with Copic markers, I cut them out using a circle die. At the same time I used the next size up to cut the background card stock piece. I set them aside and cut the plaid patterned paper from Memory Box to fit my 5.5"x 5.5" card base. Next I chose some blue snowflake paper from Echo Park and cut a strip to go behind the stamp. I added some die cut snow hills and a tree to create a little snowy scene. After gluing the strip to the card base, I added the circle with the stamp, some enamel dots and some Star Dust Stickles to the scarf and hat for a little sparkle.

Card Recipe

You Got This!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Lasso Some Snow - TDG021  for the main image and Don't Worry - FDG021 for the sentiment. We all need a little bit of encouragement every now and then and this little snowman is here to give us some.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25".  I used Echo Park Paper Co. - My Favorite Winter cardstock cut to the same size as the base card for the background. I attached this to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug, a mixture of square dies from My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Waffle Flower - Nesting Square dies, I die cut cardstock from Scrapbook.com Neutrals Smooth Cardstock and also Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the tan square and applied it directly to the background. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of the dark brown square and popped up onto the centre of the tan square.

With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock square and coloured it in with Copic markers. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. Sakura Glaze - Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen were used on the eyes of the snowman. I applied U-line douhble-sided tape to the back of the completed image and popped it up onto the centre of the dark brown square.

With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the sentiment onto Recollections - White cardstock and then die cut it out using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time - Ribbon End Dies. I inked around the edges using Copic - E59 marker to give it a dark brown border. I used my knife to remove the double border from the piece left behind and then traced the shape of the ribbon onto the remaining piece of Scrapbook.com Neutrals Smooth Cardstock. I cut this out with my cutter and scissors. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to both pieces and the completed sentiment was popped up onto the card below the main image to complete the card.

Snow Buddies!

Hello Friends!
I'm sharing my last card today from the "Winter Friends" re-release over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. This cutie is called "Snow Buddies". I'm going to send this to my friend to brighten these winter days! What a fun month it's been seeing what the Design Team created using all the new images!

To start, I stamped my image onto some Copic friendly paper and coloured it in with my Copic Sketch markers. Then using a Gina Marie "Loopy Square" die I cut the image out. I'm using papers from the Photoplay "Luke 2" 6x6 collection. I added some polka dots to the Hedgies scarf and ear muffs for a fun look. I love this sentiment called "Friendship". It can be used for so many different card themes! A bit of glitter pen on the snow elements and Crystal Stickles finish off my card.
Copics Used:
Hedgie & Owl: E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
Stump: E43, E44, E47
Greys: T3, T4, T5

Turtle Ride

Howdy - MichelleO here with a pair of Great Friends! This is High Hopes Stamps Turtle Ride - What a great friend to offer a ride for a friend.

I colored these two good friends with my Copics (colors below) and found some older papers by Scribble Scrabble. Love the vintage color combo of this collection. All the layers are sewn down and then a Fiskars border punch and green silk ribbon for a border. The High Hopes Stamp sentiment "Thank You for being a friend"  works really well with this duo - I punched it out with a EK Success Ticket punch and then matted with a scrap piece of pattern paper.

Copic colors used -

Great fun image for any friend - I love these pick me up smile cards!

Friendship Warms the Heart

Welcome Everyone;

One of my favourite things to do when it is blustery, snowing and just downright cold outside is to snuggle up with a pet or two, or even when the children were toddlers, and have a snooze together.  This is what these two friends are doing.

Today's card is featuring Friends Snooze, paired with Friendship.  Both of these stamps are from High Hopes Stamps "Winter Friends" Release.

After stamping the image onto Copic friendly paper, I coloured it and then used a Double Stitched Oval Die to cut it out.  Using the same die, I cut another oval shape from some matching cardstock.  Using the Nuvo Glitter Accents Fresh Snowfall, I had some to the pine needles in the image, the trees on the design paper and some below the oval shape on the design paper.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Friends Snooze - TDG013, Friendship - FDG023 -- Winter Friends Release from High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress it Blending Cardstock, DP - The Four Seasons - Winter (P13)

You Make Me Smile

I am an animal lover through and through but I am slightly partial to horses and dogs. At the moment I have a little Shipoo who is the love of my life. He has his moments where he thinks he's a Rottweiller but for the most part he is the best cuddle bug ever and a mom's boy. He is never too impressed with me when I put a sweater on him to go out in the freezing cold that is our winter sometimes but he gets over it pretty quick if I let him run the race track his dad blows for him in the back yard. It's a perfect place to get rid of the zoomies!

"Winter Pup" from the Winter Friends release just makes me smile and reminds me of my dog when he is dressed to go out. I love his hat and scarf and he is just too cute! I wonder how my dog would like a cute hat and scarf.....

I stamped this cutie on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured him with alcohol makers and hand fussy cut him. Next, I found some snowy paper in the Winter paper pad from Echo Park and cut it and card stock to fit my 5" x 5" card base.
I cut a second piece of card stock at 4.5" x 4.5" and used an inside out stitched circle to cut a hole. I added a stitched hill die behind the circle, added a picket fence and a stitched snow bank for this pup to sit on. The sentiment is stamped directly on to the card stock.
To create the stcitched snow bank I cut a stitched border and then carefully moved the die down the paper (keeping it in line with the first cut since it is wavy) to the thickness that I wanted, taped it down and ran it through my Big Kick again. This created the little drift he is sitting on. Some snowflakes punched out of the paper I trimmed off and some enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Winter Pup (SDG005) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiment - You Make Me Smile (FDG015)- High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper: Winter - Echo Park

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, inside out circle die - Gina Marie Designs, stitched border - Whimsy Stamps, fence die - Your Next Stamp, snow flakes - Marvy punch, enamel dots

Beautiful Day!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Winter Kitty - SDG006  for the main image and Beautiful Day - FDG013 for the sentiment. We just had a major snowfall over the last few days and this little kitty is all bundled up and ready to play!

Growing up we had a lot of snow during the winter and couldn't wait to put on our mitts and snow boots and go out to play. We had huge snow banks in the schoolyard across the street and would toboggan down them or just slide down in our snow suits! LOL! It was sooooo much fun! Sometimes we even made big snow forts in the backyard with tables and chairs made out of ice and snow. We hardly spent anytime indoors and didn't usually go back into the house until we had to or we were turning blue because it was so cold out, but even then we still wanted to continue playing outdoors. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25".  I used Scrapbook.com - Rainbow Smooth Cardstock for the main background paper. It was already the same size as the base, so no cutting had to be done. To get more use out of the same paper, I had cut the oval frame using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts - Infinity Die Ovals first. Then, I placed the Rainbow cardstock onto the card base using double-sized tape. I die cut the square background using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Pebbles - Winter Wonderland paper and the rectangle to the size of 4" x 4". The rectangle was cut from from the same paper pack to the size of 1.25" x 4". I inked around the edges of both shapes with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Evergreen Bough. Using double-sided tape, I placed both shapes over the pink background and hid where I cut the oval with the square. I cut out a smaller oval using the same Hero Arts - Infinity Die Ovals and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I also cut out a 1.5" circle using a circle punch. Lastly, I die cut the scalloped circle using WeR Memory Keepers - Quickutz Nesting Scallops dies and Hot Buy Craft Smart - Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper.

With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock oval and the sentiment onto the circle. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Ranger - Emboss It Pen Clear to the bottom of the oval and applied WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heat embossed this and added more embossing powder several times to create a thicker layer with my Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. Then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and heat embossed it as well to puff it up. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. Sakura Glaze - Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen were used on the eyes and nose of the cat.

I inked around the edges of the large pink oval and the circle with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry. I applied the coloured image directly to the pink oval and the sentiment circle to the scalloped circle using some liquid glue. Both shapes were then popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. To completed the card and add in some extra sparkle, I applied some YNS Gumdrops - Winter Wonderland to the background patterned paper.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Winter Kitty - SDG006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Beautiful Day - FDG013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Evergreen Bough, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry, Ranger - Emboss It Pen Clear

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb., Scrapbook.com - Rainbow Smooth Cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"), Pebbles Winter Wonderland 6" x 6", Hot Buy Craft Smart - Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper 12" x 12"

Die Cuts: My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, Hero Arts - Infinity Die Ovals, WeR Memory Keepers - Quickutz Nesting Scallops, 1.5" Circle Punch

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, U-Line double-sided tape, Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen, Sakura Glaze - Black, Cuttlebug, YNS Gumdrops - Winter Wonderland

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Kitty: N7, N5, N3, R02, R00, RV66, RV63, RV55 (Eyes - Sakura Glaze - Black, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen)

Sky: B05, B04, B02, Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen

Snow: WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter, Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff, Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool

Have A Beautiful Day!

Hi!
Today I am using the "Fish Kiss" image from the Re-Release called "Winter Friends" over at High Hope Rubber Stamps!  I like to think this cute polar bear is kissing his fish friend, not trying to eat it LOL.
I decided to make a winter scene for these "Fish Friends" to sit on. Papers from the Craft Consortium's "Polar Playtime" 6x6 pad worked perfectly! I added the snow paper and then fussy cut out the South Pole scene and added it to the snowflake paper. Next I used some MFT Stitched Snowdrifts to create the "hill". I added some little trees from a die I had. All the papers have their edges inked with Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass. After colouring my image with my Copic markers, I fussy cut it using my Brother Cut N Scan, and popped both the image and sentiment up with foam squares. I added some fish scales with a white gel pen for fun.
I decided not to glue down the trees as it adds a bit of dimension to the snowy hills. I paired my image with the "Beautiful Day" sentiment.
Copics Used:

Bird Song

Howdy - MichelleO here today - This image is such a happy image! It is High Hopes Stamps "Bird Song" - it just makes me smile.

I've colored this image with bold bright colors before - but this time I went with pastel colors. Colored with my Copics (colors below) and then cut out and corners punched with a Fiskars corner punch. I found a Bo Bunny's pattern paper that I have saved for a while, just love that newspaper print mixed in the pattern of blue flowers. I sewed down the pattern paper with a zig zag stitch on a blue card stock then on a white card stock for the base. A vintage ribbon to wrap the papers with and stuck down the image. My sentiment is from High Hopes Stamps "Friend are the Best Collectibles" I adore that sentiment!

Then I just felt it really needed a flower... I know it is winter, but sometimes you just have to have a flower! I found a Prima Flower with Martha Stewart leaf punch. Then topped off with a yellow button.

Copic colors used

Ok I know I said it.. but this one makes me smile - love those little birdies!

To find this image and lots of others you will smile over pop over to the High Hopes Stamps web store HERE and fall in love!

Happy Feet

Do you ever hear a song come on the radio that gives you happy feet? One that takes you back to your youth and got you and all of your friends up on the dance floor? I have had that happen a few times and thankfully have been in the presence of a friend who got happy feet with me to the same song. Okay...so it was in a an aisle in a store but when happy feet take over ....jus sayin......lol.

I love it when I can look at a stamp and it brings back some fun happy memories and "Dancing Snowmen(TDG020) from the Winter Friends release at High Hopes Rubber stamps does just that for me.

After stamping these cuties on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with alcohol markers and cut them out using a stitched oval die. I set them aside and found some patterned paper from the Farm Fresh Holiday pad (Honey Bee Stamps) and the Blurry Flurries pad (Whimsy Stamps).

I cut two strips of the grey wood grain paper to go down each side of the card and measured a piece of the blurry flurries to go down the centre and added it to some matching card stock to create an edge between the two papers.

I stamped the sentiment and cut it out in a matching stitched oval die and mounted it on card stock. Some ribbon across the bottom with a cute bow, Star Dust Stickles on the snowflakes and enamel dots finish off my card.

Good Times!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Bird Song - TDG016  for the main image and Good Times - FDG014 for the sentiment. These little birdie friends know how to whistle a tune. Unfortunately, I myself never mastered how to whistle! I've tried over the years, but just can't seem to do it. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25".  I used Scrapbook.com - Brights Smooth Cardstock for the background paper. This paper is great because it's already cut to size which makes it so easy. I applied it to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Your Next Die - Stitched Frame Snowfall Hill die set, I die cut the centre piece from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the frame from Crafter's Companion - Luxury Cardstock - Gold.

With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and the sentiment onto Recollections - White cardstock. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Stickles - Diamond and Stickles - Waterfall to the parts of the snow to make it sparkly. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. To make the eyes stand out a little more, I used Sakura Glaze - Black and then added a white dot using Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Once the stickles were dry, I turned the coloured image and frame over and taped them together on the back with some Scotch tape to keep the 2 pieces together. U-line double-sided tape was then applied and I turned it over again and popped it up onto the card. The sentiment was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies - Easel Slider. I inked around the edges with Sharpie - Gold Medium Point - Water Based Paint pen, added U-Line double-sided tape to the top half of the sentiment and added it on top of the image. Lastly I added some YNS Gumdrops - White Sugar and Sparkle to complete the card.

Foxy Friends!

Happy Tuesday!
Oh my gosh...... Here's another adorable image from the "Winter Friends" Release over at High Hopes Stamps. These cuties are called "Foxy Friends". I paired my image with the High Hopes "Good Times" sentiment.
I decided to use papers today from the LDRS "Arctic Snowfall" 6x6 collection. Since the foxes in the paper were silver/white, I decided to try to colour them to match. I'm still working on my""fur" texture skills but I think it turned out ok. A simple design today with all the edges of the papers inked in Shaded Lilac Distress Ink. Some matching purple enamel dots finish off my card.
I popped the image and sentiment up with foam tape for added dimension.
Copics Used:
W00, W0, W1, W2, W3,W4
R00, R01, R02
Prisma: White PC938, French Grey PC1072

Snowy Pine

Howdy - MichelleO here and today for High Hopes Stamps I made a card with a bit more serious feel to it. This is Snowy Pine

This tree stamp is a pretty image that I love all the snow and cool feeling of it. I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then added lots of Nuvo white paint for shiny ice cold snow. For my papers I went with a more calm simple feel. These are all from Basic Gray - old stash. I layered the papers and then did a Fiskars Border Punch for a band across the middle.

The sentiment "You are Always on my mind" is also from High Hopes Stamps and I love the sweet thought for a card.

All the layers are sewn down for the card. It is hard for me to keep things simple. I tried on this one, but slipped a little with that border, but I still like how it feels and love how the tree pops.

Thank You for Being a Friend

Hi Everyone;

Another year is over, and what better way to start a brand new year, with a new release from High Hopes StampsWinter Friends made its debut on Monday with Michelle's adorable Winter Pup.  Today, I have his friend Winter Kitty.  A total myth that pups and kittys don't get along.

After stamping Winter Kitty onto copic friendly paper, I coloured her with Copic Markers.  I cut the image out with an Oval Wonky Stitched Die.  I then added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the trim on Kitty's hat and scarf.  Some Glacier Jewels were added to the design paper, and enamel dots finished off this CAS card.
