Gorilla-Friend

This week I'm having some fun with the adorable "Camilla Gorilla". When I saw her not only did she make me smile but I wanted to try to use her in a fun way on my card. So, I challenged myself to do a CAS style card but to also include some type of scene.
Camilla has an infectious grin and I hope that the person who receives this adorable gorilla smiles along with her.

After colouring up Camilla and the banana tree I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge. I set them aside and cut a piece of white cardstock to fit my card front and used an inside out stitched circle die to cut out my "window". Some watercolor wash paper from Lawn Fawn was perfect for my sky and I added a few stitched clouds just for fun. Camilla is added to my mini scene using 3D foam pop dots. I centered and stamped the sentiment using my Misti and finished of my card with some enamel dots.

Rainy Day Smiles

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Mary Angel - Q020 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Rainy Rainy Day - H048 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. We are in for a lot of rain in the next little while here, but Mary is well prepared for it with her adorable little boots and is ready to play in the puddles. Did you love playing in the puddles with your rain boots when you were little too?

To make my card this week, I started off with a card base of 6" x 6". I used Forever in Time - Splish Splash paper for the background as I thought it went so well with this image. The background paper is double-sided and I loved how well it went together to frame the image and sentiment. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured the image in with Copic Markers. Once it was coloured in, I fussy cut around it and used B01 to fill in all of the white space as it matched the background paper so well. For the sentiment, I thought it would be cute to turn it into an umbrella as well. To do this, I stamped the sentiment and then drew an umbrella shape around it. I used a scrap piece of copic paper and drew the handle for it and then coloured it and cut it out as well. To finish off the card, I popped up the image and the sentiment with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and added some Ranger Inkssentials - Glossy Accents onto the water and droplets, Gelly Roll Stardust - Clear to the wings, Mary's umbrella and pockets on the raincoat. Unfortunately, the glitter isn't showing up in the picture.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Mary Angel - Q020  (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
Sentiment: Rainy Rainy Day - H048 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Buddy's Birthday Heart Collage!

Hello!
I've been wanted to try this for a while now and finally jumped out of my box and gave it a go! I challenged myself to only use the "Cool Grey" Copics from my collection. I thought this image called "Buddy's Birthday Heart Collage" from High Hopes Stamps was a great image to try this technique out on.
I'm really happy how it turned out! The only thing is I wish I would have looked at the papers that I have on hand first. I would have chosen a different "grey scale" to use as the Cool Grey Copics didn't really match with any black and white papers I have on hand. But I went with it as I had put so much time into colouring this image. It still looks cool right?! After colouring my image, I cut it out using my Brother Cut N Scan and cut out matching layers. The sentiment is also from High Hopes and is called "It's Your Day".
I popped the image up with some foam squares to add dimension.
Copics Used:

Tire Swing Dragon

Howdy - MichelleO here today - This sentiment is perfect for that loved one that you may have been in "cooped" up with lately! LOL! This is High Hopes Stamps - Tire Swing Dragon with "I never tire of you" sentiment!

Isn't he adorable? I colored with my Copics and shaded with pencils. Then cut out the image. I found an old pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket of a cloud filled sky. I matted with green card stock sewing together with a zig zag stitch. With the sentiment matted and sewn as well. I then punched out some leaves from a die cut and then shaded the leaves with Copics and pencils as well. It is all on a blue card stock base. Fun? Thought "Hubby" might get a giggle out of it.

Copic colors used -

Happy Bird Day!

Happy Sunday HH Fans!

I'm back today with another card in my Farm Series.  This scene was so much fun to make & the images were super easy to color.  There is so much I could have done with these awesome little guys I had a hard time deciding.  This is what I settled on....

I started by stamping & cutting out all my images then I colored them all.  When I cut out an image I always grab my black marker & outline the edges so there is no white.  I just like that finished off look when I do that.

Flutter'in By

My thinking of you, sending smiles, just because card stash is getting pretty big. However, when I saw the super sweet "Lynn Angel" in the High Hopes line up I knew I had to make one more card for my stash before I start sending them out.
With not being able to see anyone right now it will be fun to choose cards from my stash and send some happy mail to family and friends. I know exactly who I will be flutter'in by to say hi to with this one <smile>

I coloured up this sweet angel with alcohol markers, cut her out using a circle die and cut a matching cardstock circle to go behind her. Star Dust Stickles were added to her wings, shoe button and dress buttons for a bit of bling.
I love the small flower paper in the Misty Mountains pad by Kaiserkraft and added some Watercolor Wash paper to create my background layers.

A banner die from Sizzix was a great way to add a layer behind the image. To get the cardstock piece behind it, I traced the outside of the die - it is much wider then the actual die cut - cut it and trimmed it down to the size I wanted. Some matching ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Lynn Angel - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Flutter'in By - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Misty Mountains - Kaiserkraft, Watercolor Wash - MFT

Friends for Heifer!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Clarabelle and Riley - Q032 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Friends for Heifer - G183 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Riley thought Clarabelle could use a big hug. It will be so nice when we can get back together again with friends and family and give them a big hug too!

To make my card this week, I thought I would keep it simple. I thought the cow print from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. - Down on the Farm went with this card beautifully. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured the image in with Copic Markers. Once I coloured the image in, I carefully placed it behind the patterned paper and then placed it onto my card base sized 5.5" x 5.5". I inked around the edges of the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot and added a little black bow to finish it off.
