Toad-ally in Love

Welcome HH fans;

As January is just about over, this is my last card for the month of love.  There are a few fairy stories that have toads as one of the main characters. For today's card, I have used this adorable toad who is so toad-ally in love.

After stamping the image, I coloured it with Copic Markers, and then cut it out using a circle die.
The design paper is from My Mind's Eye and is one of their older collections.  Some ribbon and enamel dots finished it off the card.

Supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Toad-ally in Love (M127)-- High Hopes Stamps

Hugs and Hugs and Hugs

Sometimes we all just need a hug! Whether it is in person or in a card for Valentine's Day, a thinking of you or a miss you card - a hug in person or in a card helps the recipient know how special they are!
These "Monkey Mates" from High Hopes are happy to share a hug and I love when I have a stamp in my stash that can be used for so many occasions.

I coloured up this adorable pair with alcohol markers, added some shading with Prismacolor pencils and hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I chose some patterned paper from Bo Bunny - one is a little darker and bolder then I normally use, gulp - and cut the pieces to fit my card base. The scallop edge was cut with my Cricut using the "book" feature and the Elegant Edges cartridge. I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on matching cardstock and placed it to go off the edge of the card. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Sweets for my Sooeet!!!

Valentine's Day Is Almost Here!!! Who Wants Chocolate???

It’s Wednesday, and since Valentine's Day is almost here, I thought I'd share this adorable little piggy called  Sow Soo-Eet Piggy (S091) from High Hopes Rubber Stamps! He sure does love his chocolate and so do I. LOL! I'm a choc-o-holic and so is my husband! I can give up many things, but not my chocolate. No way! LOL! And the sentiment Sweets for my Sooeet (G197) by High Hopes Rubber Stamps is the perfect fit for this card.

I decided to keep the card simple this week. I started off with a base of 5.5" x 5.5". I used double side tape and added the pretty heart ribbon to both the top and bottom of the card.

The die cuts for the main image are both from Craftin Desert Diva's - Fancy Frames. I edged around the large die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Aged Mahagony to deepen the red. It was then attached to the card using 2 sided tape.

The main image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured in with Copic Markers. I left the die cut metal frame on while I coloured the image. Once, the coloured image was done, I was ready to add some clouds. To do this, I stamped the image again onto some Post-It paper and then cut it out to create a masked image. I layered this on top of the pig and Valentine's boxes and then created the clouds in the background using various blues from Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink and a stencil that I created using Avery Elle - D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock. I die cut the frame for the sentiment with Craftin Desert Diva's - Flag Banner Dies out of red cardstock. Then I used the same red cardstock, which I had just cut the banner out of to use as a stencil to trace around my sentiment.  I then used the trace marks as a guide to cut the sentiment out, moving just slightly inwards from my tracing to create the inner banner. This allowed me to have a nice red frame around the sentiment.

To finish the card I popped up the coloured image and sentiment with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and added a couple of hearts.

Card Recipe:

Toucan Twosome!

Hello Friends!!
This month over on the High Hopes Blog the Design Team have been inspiring you with cards using a "Love Theme". Today I am using the adorable pair from High Hopes called "Toucan Twosome". I've seen some these birds on some of my travels and they are just incredibly beautiful!
"Toucan Twosome" makes the perfect Valentine Day card when paired with the HH Sentiment called "Love Nest Valentines". I decided not to go with non traditional Valentine themed papers. I've had this Designer Paper from Bo Bunny called "Beach Therapy" for a bit now and thought it perfect to pair with these sweeties! I inked all the edges of my paper layers with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add a bit of dimension. All the layers are glued flat but the "Toucan Twosome" stamp is popped up using foam tape. My card base today is a 5x5" square.
Copics Used:

Stinkin' Sweet Skunk

Howdy - MichelleO here today ... There are just some animals that are sweeter in stamp images to me. Skunks are one of those animals. In person .. un no. But to color up and put on a card yes please!

This is Stinkin' Sweet Skunk -

I colored him with my Copics (colors below) and then I found some papers from French General Jolee's collection. I sewed the layers together along with the sentiment "May Your Day Be Filled With Love" and placed them on a dark brown card stock base. Then I found three red vintage buttons. I love buttons on cards, and buy up any jars of old buttons I find!

No Bones & new die cuts!

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing High Hopes adorable image called No Bones Doggy....isn't he just so cute?!  I have the perfect person to send this card out to.

I had quite a bit of fun creating this card.  I love banners and can never get them quite right unless I have a die to cut them with.  This time I thought why not give my die cutter a whirl.  So I ended up making the little banners that way.  I don't know that I would have been able to do the little ones by hand.  I cut out three sizes of ovals and cut off a piece on the right side of each one.  A little grosgrain ribbon, patterned paper & adhesive dots and this card was all done.

Copic Combo
Grey - T9, T7, T4, T3
Ears & Nose - E04, R20, R11
Bone - E33, E31, E30
Collar - B18, B16, B14

Paw - E33, E31

Pawsitively Purr-fect

Adults like receiving Valentine's Day cards too right?! So when I have a very special person in my life who loves cats the "Purr-fect Valentine Friends" stamp from High Hopes is purr-fect for her Valentine card.
She is fighting a hard, tough battle daily and I am hoping that some happy mail with something she loves, filled with love will maker her smile.

After colouring this sweet pair of friends with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I set them aside and found some paper from Stampin' Up and cut it to fit my A2 size card base. I cut a lacy circle die and cut it to fit - I wanted one edge to be off the card front just for fun. I like to add a little bling to my cards if I can so some Stickles on the heart lace was perfect for this one. I added the stamp using some 3D foam pop dots. Ribbon, flowers and gum drops finish off my card.

Nuts About You!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and this week at High Hopes Rubber Stamps love is in the air! LOL! This week, I used this adorable little elephant called  Peeking Ellie With Heart - P127 for the main image and Nuts About You - F128 for the sentiment!

The card base is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4 inches on white cardstock. I stamped the image using Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut around the image only leaving a thin slice of white in a few areas. Where I had trimmed the paper closest to the image, I outlined it with black marker.

Next, after running scrap pieces of paper through my Xyron Create a Sticker, I die cut the heart border using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard - 562676 - Hearts Dotted. I also used the same die cut to cut out the big heart. Then I taped the metal die cut and the paper down onto a piece of cardboard so that I could colour the big heart and still leave a white border. Once the heart was coloured, I covered "about you" with some Scotch Tape and then stamped "I'm nuts". I repeated the process only this time, I covered "I'm nuts" with the Scotch Tape and then stamped "about you" below it. Of course, I removed the tape each time before stamping.

I cut out the red contrasting paper and patterned paper with Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

Now it was time to put it all together. I mounted the red rectangle directly onto the base. I mounted the patterned rectangle onto some white cardstock and used my cutter to create a thin white border all the way around it. Then, I popped up the rectangle, Ellie and the big heart with 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.

Lastly, to finish it off, I added the border sticker to the bottom of the first rectangle and hearts that I created earlier.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Peeking Ellie With Heart - P127 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Nuts About You - F128 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, K&C Company - Kelly Panacci - KP Valentine - 30-599345, K&C Company - Kelly Panacci - KP Valentine - 30-599338

Die Cuts: Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard - 562676 - Hearts Dotted, Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214)

Tools: MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, Xyron Create a Sticker

Be My Valentine!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and this adorable image called "Peeking Kitty With Heart" from High Hopes Stamps makes a perfect card for that special someone! I love Kitty's smile and the way the heart is dangling!
This card is on the larger size, with the scallop circle base being about 6" round. I created this base using my Silhouette Machine and a svg file. On top of the base I added a doily and then created a rosette from a long strip of paper (approx 18" x 2") . I scored the paper every 1/4" and then folded it using the "mountain/ valley" technique. Once it was all folded, I glued the strips together to create a circle. Then you sort of push the circle down into the middle and a rosette forms. I glued it to a small circle die cut and then using foam tape for dimension added it to the doily layer. Next came the 2 circles with a strip of ribbon added. I coloured and fussy cut my image out and added it to the ribbon so it looks like kitty is handing on to it. A double bow, heart gem and some Stickles finish everything off.
I popped up the sentiment called "My Valentine" with foam tape and added it to a smaller rosette.
In these 2 photos you can see the dimension to this card. Definitely a card you hand deliver LOL.
Copics Used:
Kitty: R01, R02, N2, N3, N4, N6, N7
Heart: R24, R27, R29, R81
Bow: RV25. RV29

Love Birds

Howdy - MichelleO here today .. don't you think romantic Cards are so fun to create. And working with these two "Love Birds" was just wonderful!

Now this card just came together. I decided to cut out this pair of owls with a circle die cut. Then while laying on my desk it seemed they were romancing in the moon... so I went with it. I found a piece of Prima Marketing paper that had a "rail" they could sit on. I cut the bottom of the circle off cutting their toes out to hold on to the rail, then the tails were attached under the rail. The flowers in the pattern paper were cut out to lay over the moonlight. I colored with my Copics (colors below). Then layers were sewed together with a zig zag stitch and placed on a dark brown card stock base.

The sentiment "Dot Out Love is" just was perfect for this pair. Are you feeling their romance?
