Pawsing To Say

Phew! It was a marathon but I am finally done my Christmas cards...and just in the nick of time! Now that I have them done, I can think about the other cards I will need for next year.

I, like most card makers I'm sure, need a variety of cards. This week I decided to have some fun and step out of my comfort zone to create a CAS (clean and simple) card for my Just Because, Thinking of you card stash.
Puppy Pals from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is perfect for this style of card.

I decided to have some fun and created my own background paper for this card. The first step was to cut a piece of white card stock to the size I needed to fit my A2 size card. Next, I took Mowed Lawn Distress ink and smooshed it on to a piece of acetate, misted the piece of acetate with water and "kissed" the white card stock to the ink. I rotated the paper to get "kisses" of colour where I wanted them on the paper and set it aside to dry.
While the paper dried, I hand fussy cut the stamped image I had coloured with Copic markers leaving a thin white line. I found some water colour look paper to match and cut it out using fish tail banner dies. I stamped the sentiment directly on one of them and then layered them together, glued them down and added the stamped image. A heart banner in the corner finishes off the card.

Howdy - MichelleO here and this week for High Hopes Stamps we have a little snow play going on! "Snowman Dash" is full of fun!

Are these guys full of winter fun or what? I colored with my Copics (colors below). And then to add some shine I added Nuvo white for that snow feel. Fast Snow Feel!

Snowy Merry Christmas

I am still working away on my Christmas card to do list. The weeks and days are flying by ....but I work best under pressure?...that's the story I'm sticking to anyway <smile>. I have a lot of people on my list who like snowmen so I have done a card for one of them this week featuring Snow Kisses from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I coloured this adorable stamp with Copic markers, hand fussy cut it and added some white polka dots to her scarf and mitts just for fun. I set the stamp aside and found some patterned paper from Echo Park and cut it to fit my 5.5" x 5.5" card base. I glued down the paper layers and added a piece of ribbon and a bow in the corner. I stamped the sentiment, cut it out using a fishtail banner die and hung it down the side of the card for something different and fun. The stamped image was added with foam pop dots and I added some sparkle with Star Dust Stickles on the hat and scarf. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Father Time & Baby New Year

Howdy - MichelleO here - Can you believe we are almost 1/2 way through December? Christmas is coming quick and then the New Year! So for today's card I decided to have some fun with one of my favorite New Year images! High Hopes Stamps Father Time & Baby New Year - so precious!  Love Baby New Year's Cheeks!

I colored with my Copics and then went to find papers. Backwards from how I normally do things, but just happened that way. But while digging I found some perfect papers from K-Ology K & Company. Love that sage green color. Matched up with kraft card stock for the base I cut out and layered the patterns. Adding a white lace punch from EK Success band top and bottom of the stripe paper.

The sentiment "Happy New Year" is also from High Hopes Stamps. In one of my favorite fonts.

Copic colors used -

Time sure has flown by this year. Can't believe it is time again for New Year cards already. Here comes 2024!

Let Us Adore Him

Howdy - MichelleO here today - this week for High Hopes Stamps I chose a sweet image - with a great sentiment. I hummed the entire time I was putting this one together. This image is "Let Us Adore Him"

Sweet image! And I just love the sentiment also from High Hopes Stamps "Let Heaven and Nature Sing!

I colored with my Copics (colors below) and found papers from Pink Paisley papers deep in my stash. They are all stacked up on kraft card stock for a base. A simple card - and I wanted something just a little additional but really didn't want bling or flashy on this one. I went digging deep in my drawers and found this cute little Fiskars punch of a music note! That fits perfect with my sentiment and my humming going on!

Copic colors used -

Simple card and I missed my sewing machine with this one. Sigh... its on the fritz again. I need to do some internal cleaning on it. Seems all my paper sewing does build up some fuzz inside and I just need the time to clean it. Time... uh right.

Hope you enjoyed my card - and please pop over to High Hopes Stamps website and see all the glorious images to play with! You will love them... and fill a cart fast I am sure!

Thanks so much!

Warm Cocoa Wishes

As I am typing this, we are getting a wet snow and rain mix. Over night and for the next two days they are calling for snow. As kids the first snowfall was always so exciting! When we would get snow days from school when there was a snow storm there was nothing like bundling up in our snow suits and spending the day outside playing. When we were soaked through and cold we would go in the house and have a hot cup of hot chocolate. My card this week features Cocoa Gnome and brings back all of these wonderful memories. And now.......I think I need a cup of hot chocolate.....

After colouring the stamp with Copic markers, I cut it out using a circle die. I cut a piece of card stock to go behind it with a circle cutter because I like a thinner card stock edge then the next larger die gives me. I set that aside and found some paper from Echo Park.

To create the card base I folded a 5.5" x 5.5" in half and then opened it up and cut one side in half again. Next I cut card stock and patterned paper to fit the "flap" and inside of the card. I have added a piece of white card inside to include a message to the recipient. I stamped the sentiment and tucked it along the edge the piece of patterned paper with the ribbon on it. To finish the card I added the circle to the flap and put some enamel dots in the corners.

Woodland Stocking

Howdy - MichelleO here today -

Back again with a Christmas Card for High Hopes Stamps - This image is so sweet and great for your cards! This is Woodland Stocking -  love the country feel of this image!

I have also been testing myself to use some non traditional colors lately. So for this one I found some scraps from my stash, and went with the colors of the animals and then loved the blue and lime green the rust color. So off to the coloring to match!

The pattern papers have a kraft card stock feel to them, so that is what I used for the base of the card. Sewing things down with a zig zag stitch. The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps. "Scripty Merry Christmas"  A favorite as it works with so many types of images. To finish it off a few enamel dots

 Copic colors below-

Different - yes, but I think I like it. I know I love the image. Country adorable!

Holiday Cheer

Back in my happy place this week making Christmas cards. I have a lot of friends and family who love penguins and High Hopes has so many adorable penguin stamps it is hard to choose which one to use. This week I decided Penguin Family is perfect for one of the penguin lovers on my card list......how cute is this family!

I coloured up this adorable family with Copic markers. I cut down the sides of paper and then traced the edge of a die to create the border at the bottom and cut it with a pair of scissors. I did the same for the card stock behind it but decided to off set it for a different look. Next I cut patterned paper from Echo Park to fit my card base and added a small strip at the top to add some interest. The sentiment was masked off from a larger sentiment, stamped, cut and mounted on matching card stock. To finish off my card I added some twine, a snow flake, enamel dots and Star Dust Stickles to the hats and ear muffs.

All that is dear!

 Happy Tuesday HH fans!

Today's I'm sharing our sweet image called Gingerbread Friends which I have combined with the sentiment All That Is Dear on the inside.

I love making Gingerbread cookies & houses too BUT I can't eat any of it.  Sadly I'm allergic to every spice that goes into making them.  My children & husband too can always enjoy the bounty so that's a good thing.

I tried to keep up with my non-traditional colours for Christmas again with this card.  I have quite a bit of patterned paper in my stash that fits the bill lol.

This is the inside of the card.  I made sure the image on the front fully overlapped the back so you couldn't see the sentiments right away.

Goliath Christmas Mouse

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I am not ready for it to be time for Christmas. This year has been a blur! But that doesn't mean it isn't coming fast. So time to color up some Christmas cards. And this little image from High Hopes Stamps is just to cute and too perfect for a sweet card for a friend! This is Goliath Christmas Mouse

Colors and patterns are a little non traditional. But I just loved the soft red, and greys. And the circles worked well with me kie cutting out the little mouse!

Goliath is colored with my Copics (colors below) and then added sparkle with Nuvo glitter pen. And Nuvo white for his tie on beard. He is just so cute! I cut him out with a circle and then matted with a stitch circle. My papers are from Sassafrass and I just adore the scallop edge that is made on the paper. All sewn down with a straight black thread.

The sentiment is from High Hopes Stamps "Merry Christmas" and punches out perfectly with an EK Success ticket punch.

Simple but sweet!

Don't Worry Be Happy

I am taking a break from my what feels like a never ending to do list for Christmas cards to have some fun with Mr. Frog from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. He just makes me smile....looking kind of innocent but happy at the same time, its hard not to smile with him. I was listening to the radio while I crafted and while I was trying to figure out a sentiment to put with him a song came on that I not only could not get out of my head but inspired the sentiment I chose using words from two different sentiments.

After colouring this cutie with Copic markers, I hand fussy cut him and ran a black marker around the edge to get any white I had missed. I decided to get in touch with my CAS (clean and simple) side for this card design. I cut some matching patterned paper with fishtail banner dies and layered them for Mr. Frog to sit on.
Next, I picked two sentiments that I only wanted a few words from, masked them off and stamped them. This took a couple tries to be honest but I am happy with how it turned out. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Santa in Chimney

Howdy- MichelleO here today! We are getting really close to Christmas! This year has just flown by! Have you started your Christmas Cards yet? High Hopes Stamps has so many fun fun fun images to play with and make your cards perfect for you family and friends.

This week I pulled out Santa in Chimney! I just love the magic how Santa pops down that Chimney!

I colored Santa with my Copics (colors below) and then cut him out. While digging for some Christmas papers I found some older Graphic 45 papers that I knew would be great to pop ole' Santa onto! Perfect Winter Background sky! And loved that vintage Santa pattern as well, so I sewed them together with a zig zag stitch, then stuck Santa down leaving a little bit of base at the chimney to add some Nuvo White paint for my snowy roof top!

Now Santa... he needed a little more magical bling so some Nuvo glitter paint on his fur trim was perfect addition. The sentiment, also from High Hopes Stamps, I one of my favorites! "Celebrate the Magic of Christmas" It is just the sentiment to use with our mystery of magic on how Santa gets down those chimneys! I punched it out with an EK Success punch then did a faux red mat with a Copic marker.

Love how this one came out. Wasn't sure about the black card stock base, and zig zag thread. But I love how it makes everything else pop once all together!

It's Ugly Sweater Time!!!

 Happy Sunday HH fans!!

Well I'm not usually here on the blog on a Sunday BUT I just couldn't wait to share my Ugly Sweater Time card with you.

So I started colouring this cutie and AFTER I finished I realized that again the papers I chose weren't going to work.  So this image has been sitting on my desk since last week.  I went on to colour a couple of other images, all the while thinking about what I was going to do with my Gnome.  Oh by the way...I LOVE gnomes, the cute kind not the creepy kind lol.  Mid colouring of another image I had an idea...just go with a couple of brown patterned paper I said to myself.  This is what I came up with, hope you like it.

Merry Wishes

I am still working away at my Christmas card to do list and this week I decided to do a card featuring Polar Bear Family from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I have not used this stamp in a while so when I saw it I decided it was perfect for one of my cards this year.

I coloured the stamp using Copic markers and cut it out with a circle die. Patterned paper from Echo Park was the perfect match for this adorable family. I cut the wood paper to fit the 5.5 x 5.5 inch base and cut the matching snowflake paper with a fishtail banner die. Next, I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with a circle die, added it to a matching card stock base and set it aside. I cut a snow bank with a stitched edge die and added some die cut trees from Memory Box. Once all of the pieces were glued down I added the stamped image and sentiment. Some sparkly snowflakes from a snowflake border, enamel dots and a bow finish off my card.

Snomans Cup of Love

 Hey Happy Tuesday HH Fans!

It's starting to get a tad cold out now & it just makes me think of a cup of hot coffee or hot cocoa.  I picked Snowmans Cup of Love for my card this week.

I was thinking a little rustic when I coloured this cutie up.  After colouring him my chosen patterned paper just didn't work with the theme so I changed it up to this plaid from Memory Box.  That Memory Box pad is starting to get low, I will be looking for more of it soon.

I'm not sure if anyone else who colours with Copic's finds it challenging to match the E89, E87 combo with other colours.  I know I do.  After some experimenting I chose the darker YG's & I quite like the look.  What do you think?

That beautiful lace ribbon has been in my stash for years, so happy if worked well with this adorable Snowman.

Copic Combos
Shading Blue - B000, B0000
Shading Gray - W6, W4, W2
Green - YG97, YG95, YG93, YG91
Brown/Green - E89, E87, E84, E81

Cheeks - R00, R000

Misc. Stuff - Crystal Stickles, Glitter Enamel Dots, YNS Stitched Rectangle Dies, Lace Ribbon, Honey Bee Gingham Galore "Holiday", Memory Box "Woodsy Plaid", Dark Kraft American Craft Cardstock, Ivy Bazzil Cardstock, Copic friendly cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Angel Bear Scarecrow

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I am excited... Fall is here and I love coloring fall images. Today for High Hopes Stamps I pulled out Angel Bear Scarecrow.

Love how much is going on in this image. The bear is adorable especially with the angel wings. The fun straw hat with flower, crows on his shoulders, turkey hiding behind him and then the pumpkin sitting out front. Fun to color with my Copics (colors below) and then added Nuvo glitter pen to the wings because wings have to have sparkle.

Found some older Basic Grey paper in my stash that I layered up on a kraft card stock base. No sewing this time as my machine is really acting up. Why is it I feel like I just didn't finish my card without my sewing??

The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps "Happy Fall Y'all" I created a faux border in orange with a Copic marker. Then digging around I found just enough orange enamel dots to add to the sides. I really need to stock my stash as my color choices are getting low. LOL

Copic colors I used -

Fun fall card and fun to create. For you to have some fun pop over to the High Hopes Stamps Web Store HERE and fall for lots of fun!

Thanks so much!

Christmas Snooze

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in my craft room. I have a lot of cards to get done. I have quite a few men and young men on my card giving list so this card has more of a masculine feel to it for one of them. This card features Friends Snooze from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.....I am thinking this must be after Christmas dinner - I always feel like I need a snooze afterwards - smile.

After colouring the stamp with Copic markers, I cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. I set it aside, stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a matching stitched die since I had them out. I found some patterned paper from Carta Bella and Photo Play to create my background.
After gluing down the wood paper, I cut three 1.75 inch x 5 inch strips, mounted them on card stock and added pieces from an icicle border. The finished card size is 5.5 inches x 5.5 inches. I glued them down, added the stamped image after I had put it off set on to card stock and glued the sentiment down in the corner. Enamel dots finish off my card.
