Thank Ewe

For my card this week I decided to do a non - traditional thank you card , meaning using a some what non- traditional sentiment. I always love to have a few thank you cards in my stash so it is easy to pop one in the mail for a friend or family member.
"Posey's For You" is a fun stamp with it's fluffy ewe and posey's and when I found I had the Thank Ewe sentiment - it was perfect for a fun thank you ...er thank "ewe" card. This cutie just makes me smile and I hope it will make the recipient smile too!

I coloured this cutie with alcohol markers, did some shading with Prismacolor pencils and cut it out using a pleated circle die. I thought patterned paper from Echo Park and Lawn Fawn were perfect for this stamp.
The paper was cut to size and glued to my card stock. Next I cut a circle out of card stock to put behind my image. I didn't want the "bulk" I would have gotten if I put it on top of my patterned paper and card stock so once it was in position, I marked it with a pencil and then cut it to fit snuggly against the card stock. I cut my sentiment banner with a stitched banner die and stamped it so it was centered under my stamp.
A banner with a heart, enamel dots and some gingham ribbon finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Posey's For You - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Thank Ewe! - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Spring Fling - Echo Park, Spiffy Speckles - Lawn Fawn

Spectrum Noir Markers: IG1 IG3 CT1 CT2 GB5 CG1 DG2

Happy Thoughts!

Hello HH Fans!
I remember when my kids were young, May brought the opening of the Ice cream store in the small town we lived in. It was a big deal and everyone would walk down to the store after supper with their kids and dogs for the first ice cream cone of the season. This adorable stamp called "Ice Cream For Two" from High Hopes Stamps just reminds me of those special family times.
I coloured my image with my Copic Markers and fussy cut it out using my Brother Cut N Scan machine. I used a SVG file from the Silhouette Store to create my Ice Cream card base. Of course I had to cut it out of papers that match my 2 favourite flavours, Chocolate and Mint Chip. I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink for added dimension.
The "Happy Thoughts" sentiment is perfect for the way this memory makes me feel.
Copics Used:
Skin: E01, E11, E04, R20
Hair: YR21, YR24, YR14, E15, E18

Thinking of You!!!

Welcome HH Fans;

Where does the time go.  It seems that Friday has come around and another week is almost over.

For today's card, I have used the adorable Thinking of You Stamp from High Hopes Stamps and created a CAS card.

After stamping the image on XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured it with Copic Markers.  I then used the Foilmate Vibrant Vines with the Sparkling Silver Foil (both from Gina K Designs)  and ran it through the MINC machine.  This is the positive side as opposed to the negative side which I used last week.  This was then cut out using the Spellbinders Scalloped Die.

Supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Thinking of You (S230) -- High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - Vintage Tea Party (Crafters Companion); Vibrant Vines Foilmate, Sparkling Silver Foil (both from Gina K. Designs)

Hello Butterfly

I love butterflies! They are one of my favourite parts of spring and summer.
I love to sit on my porch and watch them flutter around and land on the hanging baskets I always have hanging there.
I have learned that there are different flower types that attract butterflies so I am going to see if I can find some baskets with some of those types of flowers for my porch this year.

I made a card to celebrate butterflies with "Left Butterfly" and "Katie's Bouquet"

I created my scene by stamping three bouquets and the butterfly and coloured them with alcohol markers. Star Dust Stickles were added to the hearts on the wings.  I added some clouds using a cloud die, ink and a dauber and cut the bottom edge with a stitched scallop die.  Some fun gingham and heart patterned paper were perfect for this scene. After cutting the heart paper to size I cut out the word hello with a die. I cut it a second time in white and inset it into the paper. Next, I found the word friend in the size I wanted, masked it off with Post It Notes and stamped it using my Misti. Matching glitter ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Baby Elephant Celebrates

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this week for High Hopes Stamps I pulled out a "little" favorite. This is Baby Elephant Celebrates - a sweet elephant that brings a smile!

I colored with my copics (colors below) and then added Clear Nuvo on the balloon.. and then white Nuvo on his toe nails. Every little elephant needs a really nice Pedi right? I found paper from DCWV Tres Chic collection on a cream colored base. I sewed the layers down with a straight and zig zag stitch. A pink polk a dot ribbon around tied with a bow.  A fun play on words for a sentiment.

Fun card right? Love how cute this image is.

Sending Smiles!

Hello HH Fans!
It's my turn to share some creative fun over on the High Hopes Blog! I decided to use this oldie but cutie called "Raggedy Ann-ouncement". I love that her "sign" comes blank and you can add whatever sentiment to it that you want. I added the HH "Sending Smiles" sentiment.
I used a fun bright colour palette on this card! It just makes me feel happy and that summer is around the corner. My Paper is from the American Crafts Sunny 6x6 collection (older one from my stash). I added a double heart border, a cute heart tag, heart die and ribbon with a butterfly brad added to it.
Here you can see the dimension I added by using foam squares.
My decorated inside using the HH Sentiment called "Thank You For Being A Friend"

Greetings from Mer-cat!

Greetings High Hope friends - Lindsay here! Today, I'm sharing the most adorable cat ever - Mer-cat! She's part mermaid, part cat, and a whole lot of cuteness!

I think my favorite stamps are definitely kitty stamps - and I almost always color the kitties like my own orange tabby. I used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color her in, and for the background I created a super simple beach scene - sky, ocean, and beach. This way Mer-cat stays the center of attention!

To keep the card clean and simple, I stamped this adorable sentiment on kraft paper and wrapped some thin metallic gold thread around it. I love adding metallic thread to cards where I want a little bit of embellishment, but not too much. Then I popped the entire piece up off the card with some foam mounting squares. I think this is the perfect card to welcome in summer (which will be here before we know it!)

Where Flowers Grow...

Welcome HH fans;

Well it seems that spring has finally arrived and flowers, shrubs and trees are beginning to grow as they have new shoots and blooms.  With flowers beginning to grow, so does hope in so many ways.

With this in mind, today's card is using the adorable Flowers Grow stamp from High Hopes Stamps.

After stamping the image, I coloured it with Copic Markers, and cut it out using the Scalloped Square Die from Spellbinders.  The foil background was created using the Vibrant Vines Foil-Makes and Sparkling Silver Foil - Fancy Foils both from Gina K. Designs and fun through the Minc Machine to foil it.  The negative was used for the background. It was cut out using the same die as the image.

Supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Flowers Grow (R157) -- High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - Honey Sweet Patterned Paper - DigiDoodles Design
  • Foil Mate & Foil:  Vibrant Vines, Sparkling Silver (Gina K. Designs)

Thanks!

Happy Tuesday HH Followers!
Today I'm showing you the adorable "Flower Bouquet" stamp from High Hopes using it two different ways for completely different looks. What a perfect stamp that you can use for so many occasions!
On this version, I coloured the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and added some Stickles to the flower centres for some added bling. I'm using paper from the Simple Stories "Spring Farmhouse" 6x8 collection. I die cut the word "thanks" 3x and glued them together for a bit of added dimension.

Copics Used:
R11, R20, R21, R22
Y23, Y26, N7
BG11, BG32, BG34
My other version using the "Flower Bouquet" has a few more steps to it. First I stamped a flower background (don't know the name of the stamp it's an older one from my stash) and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then using the pink orange pearl colour, watercolored the background. I stamped the image onto black cardstock and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Now all I had to do was watercolor it in using the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors set. I like the look of the pearl colors on the black base.
Here you can see the gold embossed and watercolored background a bit better. The "Thanks" sentiment for this card was cut out with some double sided foam tape and gold paper for the dimension effect. A few Rose gold Sequins finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Stamping!

It's a jungle out there!

Happy Sunday!

I love plants! Not the bugs and the critters and the snake that comes along, when you're in a jungle, yikes! But just the plants! So you can wake me up to go to a garden center anytime!
My favorite plants are orchids. While most people seem to find it hard to keep orchids alive, they seem to like it at my place, cause I don't often need to throw away an orchid. And they bloom also more than once! Yeay!
So while I was inspired by my plants, I wanted to create some jungle cards.
I've used the MFT stamps pockets to create a large shaker card. Both the boy and the girl card.

Here's a close-up at both cards:

And the inside for both cards (it's a Dutch sentiment, meaning Congratulations):

To make this card, I've used:
*Bazzill Basics Cardstock: white and kraft
*MFT stamps: A2 rectangle die + matching pouches
*Pretty Pink Posh: green and pink confetti
*other: green and pink beads, Pergaglue, Dutch sentiment 'gefeliciteerd', Copic paper, Copic sketch markers, black ink, acrylic block

The Best Things, Old Friend and Alcohol Pearls

Welcome HH fans;

Time has a way of sneaking up on us and before you know it another week,  month, or even years have gone or flown by.  The sentiments on both of today's cards sums up rather nicely our life's journey.

For today's cards, I used the stamps called The Best Things and Old Friend, both from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Both images were stamped onto XPress It Blending Cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers.  The backgrounds for both cards were created using Alcohol Pearls, a new product.

Inside of Old Friend

While at Scrapfest last month, I picked up a new product for me called Alcohol Pearls.  Alcohol Pearls work in the same way as the regular alcohol inks, but with a difference.  The finish has a pearlescent sheen to it.

While pursuing the Internet for information on Alcohol Pearls, I came across a youtube video by Jennifer McGuire showing how to create a smooth background using a ruler, a strip of white felt and some alcohol pearls.

After adding a few drops of three different Alcohol Pearls to the felt strip edge and then adding some blending solution, Jennifer just moved the ruler along the Yupo paper.   The link to the video can be found here Alcohol Pearls.

For the background below, I used the Envy, Villainous, and Enchanted Alcohol Pearls.

Background for The Best Things
