You Know You're Old When....

One of my Dad's favourite sayings is "My memory is good...it's just short!". As kids growing up we thought it was funny and it always made us giggle. However, as I am getting older, I am finding more and more truth in that statement and I find myself saying it quite often!

When I saw the "Memory" sentiment and "Online Olive" stamps from High Hopes Rubber Stamps it reminded me of this saying and how true it is the older I get. I find myself having to make lists either on paper, my phone, or computer to try not to forget things....until I forget which way I wrote the note and where...<smile>. I chose to use this stamp combo for a humourous Birthday card because I can't have enough humourous cards in my stash.

I stamped Olive, coloured her and her cat friend with Copic markers and cut her out using a square pleated lace die. I chose patterned paper from Carta Bella and cut it to fit my 5.5"x5.5" card base. Bazzill came through with the perfect matching card stock and I cut a layer to fit behind each piece of patterned paper and the stamp.
Next, I stamped the Memory sentiment and masked off the Happy Birthday from the Swinging Birthday sentiment. They were cut to size and mounted on matching card stock. Some cotton lace ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

More Bubbles!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a fun card using  Burts Bath - R103 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Filled With Bubbles - H119 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Burt sure looks happy as he's letting all of his troubles float away! LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock for my base folded at 5.5" x 4.25". For the main background, I used Doodlebug Design Inc. - Under The Sea paper cut to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry was used to ink around all of the edges. Whimsy Stamps - Slimline Pillows Die was used to cut out the shape for the sentiment and Die-Namics My Favourite Things - PCD Fishtail Figs STX for the flag behind the sentiment. I inked around the edges of the sentiment die cut with Copic Marker - BV04 to frame it. Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers was used to ink around the edges of the flag. Avery Elle - Wonky Stitches Die was used to die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.

I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento - Tuxedo Black using my MISTI and coloured in the image using Copic markers. I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and attached it to the base card. I ran the flag through my Xyron Create a Sticker as I wanted it to lay completely flat against the background. I attached this to the base and then added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the sentiment and attached it over top of the flag and the base. To complete the card, I added a few bubble embellishments from The Robin's Nest - Peony using Ranger Glossy Accents.

Rainbow In Your Heart!

Hi!
I needed to add to my "stash" of Sympathy Cards. Although I like making any kind of card, I hate having to give a sympathy card away because it means someone has lost a special person. I know that the "Pansy Window Box Frame" from High Hopes Stamps will brighten up the recipients day and let them know that I am thinking of them!
I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured it in using my Copic Sketch markers. Next I cut the image out using my Brother Cut N scan and hand cut out the inside of the window. I added the rainbow paper into the window and popped my image up with foam squares for added dimension. Some lace, ribbon and gems finish off my card today.
I used more of the rainbow paper from the Honey Bee "Spring Lullaby" 6x6 collection on the inside and added the HH sentiment called "Rainbow In Your Heart".
Copics Used:

RV63, RV66, RV69

Bessie Buggie's Bloom

Howdy - MichelleO here today - and today I am sharing some Bright Spring Warm Colors! After a week of being frozen these colors just make me happy! And for my warm color image I chose High Hopes Stamps Bessie Buggie's Bloom... adorable!

Sweet Bessie right? I colored with my Copics (colors below) and shaded with pencils. I found a scrap piece of Creative Imaginations paper that was just too fun and bright. I matched it all up with green card stock base and red card stock mats. Everything sewed down with straight and zig zag stitches. The sentiment is from High Hopes Stamps "Butterfly Kisses" - Sweet right?

Then I added three enamel dots for some embellishment fun.

Copic colors used -

So as cold as it was outside a bright warm card makes me feel warm and happy inside! For so many more fabulous images you just need to click HERE and see all that High Hopes Stamps has at the Web Site.

Get Well Puppy

I don't know about anyone else but sometimes my creativity train seems to leave the station and not come back for awhile. When this happens to me I try a number of different things to try and find the train.

Sometimes I reorganize my craft space, or walk away and do a household chore and sometimes I find a crafty challenge that is something I don't usually do on my cards. Most of the cards I make are square and I try to add layers and embellishments of some kind. Today, I found a CAS (clean and simple) challenge to participate in and I challenged myself to make an A2 size card using "Sick Puppy" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps that was sitting coloured on my desk.

After stamping this cutie and colouring him with Copic markers I cut him out using an edge die. I cut a second one out of card stock to put behind my stamp to create a thin edge. I had a piece of trimmed off plaid that fit my design and colour combo perfectly and added it behind the stamp. A stamped sentiment and enamel dots finish off this CAS style card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Sick Puppy - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: Get Well Soon 2 - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Lullaby - Pebbles

Have I Toad You?

I grew up with two brothers and it was their favourite thing to try to find toads, frogs or some kind of bug that they thought would scare me and chase me around with it. I also have a number of nephews and a few friends with little boys who like to bring me "gifts" that squirm and giggle. Of course I make a big deal out of it  eeking and ewwwing which the of course they find totally hilarious! I love hearing those giggles!!!!

"Froggy Gift" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps brings these memories flooding back and has me smiling all over again. I can't wait to use this stamp again for some masculine Birthday cards or a non traditional Mother's Day card.

After stamping this cutie and colouring it with Copic markers, I cut it out using a rectangle die and at the same time cut a piece of card stock to go behind it. Plaid paper from Your Next Stamp and a matching grunge patterned paper from Craft Consortium worked perfectly for this colour combo. Next I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a fish tail banner die. It is popped up with foam pop dots on the bottom so it sits flat against the twine. I added a few bull rush die cuts and added some twine and enamel dots to finish off my card.

Card Recipe

He Is Risen!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made an Easter Card using  He Lives! - R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and He Is Risen! - H137 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I really love the serenity of this image. Here's hoping that we will get to spend Easter with our loved ones this year.

To make my card this week, I used AC Cardstock for my base folded at 6" x 6". For the main background, I used this beautiful paper from Heartfelt Creations - Flowering Dogwood Collections cut to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint was used to ink around all of the edges. My Creative Time - Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies was used to cut all of the ovals and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Die Layers was used to cut the small rectangle. Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the large scalloped oval and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Dusty Concord was used to ink around the larger oval and small rectangle. I used 2 types of purple ribbon and ran both pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to attach them to each other and then onto the card. I used some double-sided tape and glue to adhere the larger oval to the base. 3M VHB - 2 sided tape was used to add the larger oval.

I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento - Tuxedo Black and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers. For the sentiment, I found the white was too bright, so I coloured over it with a soft purple Copic marker - V01. I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and placed it on top of the larger oval. For the sentiment, I doubled up on the 3M VHB - 2 sided tape before attaching it to the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  He Lives! - R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: He Is Risen - H137 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Dusty Concord, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint

Family Time!!

Hello!
Yesterday here in Canada we celebrated "Family Day".  What's more "family" than a tub full of adorable piggies?!! This stamp from High Hopes is called "Good Clean Fun". This adorable family just makes me giggle! It also reminds me of my first home over 30 years ago. Our house was on older home and we had a clawfoot tub just like this. Reminds me so much of my girls bathing together when they were small!
I chose papers from the Craft Consortium Bright Blooms 6x6 collection. The flowered pattern reminds me of the  old wallpaper that was in our bathroom. After stamping my image onto some Copic friendly paper, I coloured in "Good Clean Fun" with my Copic markers. I also decided to use some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on all my paper edges to match the vintage feel of the tub. Some ribbon, a bow and enamel dots finish off my card.
On my decorated inside I used the Sentiment from High Hopes called "Filled With Bubbles". Such a perfect sentiment for this stamp!
Copics Used:
Piggies: R30, R32, W8
Shower cap: RV52, RV55, RV09
Tub: C00, C0, C1, C2, C3
Bubbles: B0000, BG000, B60, B63

Monkey Message Board

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this week I had a little fun with a Monkey for High Hopes Stamps. This is Monkey Message Board and he is too fun for many different cards.

He is so cute isn't he? Love his round little cheeks. I colored with my Copics (colors below). While digging in my stash of papers I found a piece of scrap paper of jungle leaves. Thought that was just too perfect for this little monkey. I sewed down the layers on a kraft brown card stock. I then added a couple of EK Success leaf punches for the corners.

For the sentiment I added High Hopes Stamps "Hang in there!" Great sentiment to shout out a little support for someone and the monkey adds a little smile!

Copic colors below.

Fun little card for anyone. For more great images to share smiles, visit the High Hopes Stamps web site store HERE and fall in love with so so much!

You Quack Me Up

Anyone else ever see a stamp that just makes them giggle?? Silly Goose from High Hopes Rubber Stamps sent me in to many giggle fits as I was trying to colour her. I actually had to restart colouring three times because she made me giggle so hard I coloured out of the lines...and a blender couldn't fix it.

I'm not sure why this stamp does this for me but I hope that it also makes the recipients smile and maybe giggle just a little like I did.

I stamped Silly Goose and coloured her with Copic markers. For the first card I cut her out using a stitched tag die and for the second card I used a rounded square with pierce marks die.

I couldn't decide which sentiment I wanted to use for my card so I decided to make two cards. I kept the design fairly simple for both of them. For the 5"x 5" tag card I added it to some spring paper from Lawn Fawn and cut a stitched scallop edge to match the tag and added some ribbon, a glittery flower and some matte dots.

The second card is an A2 size using plaid paper from Lawn Fawn, some ribbon and enamel dots. The sentiment is part of a larger sentiment that I a masked off and added the question mark to with a black marker. The stamped image is popped up using 3D foam pop dots and I inked all the edges with antique linen Distress Ink.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Silly Goose - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Sentiments: Quack Me UpWhats Up Gorilla Friend - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Spring Fling and Perfectly Plaid Spring - Lawn Fawn

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, ribbon, stitched tag die - Kat Scrappiness, scallop edge die - My Creative Time Dies, flower - Prairie and Paperie, matte dots, rounded square with pierce marks die - Your Next Stamp, antique linen Distress ink, 3D foam pop dots - Forever In Time, enamel dots.

Missing You!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Thoughtful Kimberly - H202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and One Of Those Days - F252 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I think the sentiment says it all for this card. With Covid, so many of us are not able to see our loved ones, so we can dream of when we will be able to see them all again soon.

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. for my base at 4.25" x 5.5". I ran some brown cardstock through my Cuttlebug using Darice - Brick Wall Background. Then I inked on top of it using a variety of Tim Holtz distress inks which I have listed below. To make the window frame, I die cut the window using Spellbinders Die D-Lites - S2-016- Window Two using my Cuttlebug and Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb paper. I die cut this twice. I cut the centre frame out of both windows. I used the first die-cut window to create my base. Then, I cut the patterned paper from Creative Memories - Secret Garden to create my background for behind the little girl. I also cut Judi-Kins - Embossable Window Plastic to match the size of the side windows and the window above the girls head. I glued the plastic windows to each side of the window frame and then attached the second cut piece over top with glue. For the top window, I attached the plastic window behind it first and then added the background paper to it and the entire open window.

I stamped both the images and sentiment using my Misti and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic Markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the image. The sentiment and frame were cut with My Creative Time - Rectangle Dies. I ran the cut sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then placed it directly on top of the larger rectangle. I added the little girl to the inside of the window using glue on the back of her. To complete my card, I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the window centre part and the large rectangle and popped them up top of the brick background.

Gone Fishing!

Happy Tuesday!
Brrrrr..... it's been cold here lately but that works out perfect for ice fishing! Some of the lakes and rivers have frozen over and the Winter fishing enthusiasts are out trying to catch fish! "Fishing with Grandpa" from High Hopes Stamps makes a perfect card to celebrate those winter fishermen!
I stamped my image and sentiment onto Copic friendly paper and then coloured them in with my Copic Sketch markers. Next using a Stitched Octagon die, I cut them both out. My papers today are from the Honey Bee "Great Outdoors" 6x6 collection. I added some Liquid Appliqué to the fur trim on their outfits and let it dry. Then using my heat gun, I heated up the Liquid Appliqué. It bubbles up and I thought it looked cute for fur! A bit of twine with a bow finish off my card.
I used the "Gone Fishing Sign'" sentiment also from High Hopes Stamps. It goes perfectly with this stamp don't you think?!
