Happy Halloween!

Howdy Friends!
I can't believe it's the end of August already. Boy the months sure fly by! For my card today I am using the adorable "By The Moonlight" and the "Block Happy Halloween" sentiment from High Hopes Stamps.
I started my card design by first stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then taking my Copic Sketch markers, I coloured the image in. I decided to cut the image out using my Brother Cut N Scan. I chose to use papers from the Bella Blvd "Spooktacular" 6x8 collection. Those pumpkin faces make me giggle! For the sentiment I coloured it in and then cut around it using my Brother Cut N Scan. By mistake it cut around the words separately instead of one cut. I just went with it LOL and placed them separately.
Copics Used:
Cat: T6, T8, T9, R22
Mouse: C1, C3, R02
Moon: YR04, Y35, Y38
Fence: E43, E44, E47

Cute right? I colored with my Copics and then went back with Viva Decor Glitter pen and Ranger Stickles for lots of dimension and bling on his costume. And of course those wings! Papers in my stash from Fancy Pants that just had fun fall colors are cut and then sewn down with straight and zig zag stitches. The sentiment is also from High Hopes Stamps "Happy Halloween" love the cursive font! Then for just a little more fun I added a few small enamel dots. I just love enamel dots don't you?

Eat Drink & Be Scary

Welcome Everyone;

I hope you are all enjoying the last few days of summer before school starts up again.  I'm sure we are all wishing & hoping, that our children and grandchildren can have a somewhat normal school year.  Maybe, Halloween will even get back to being normal with all the trick & treating and children having fun.

Last month, I did a set of  posts featuring a variation of cards that were done using High Hopes Stamps Snowman Mini Set.  Today, I'm using the Halloween Mini Set from High Hopes Stamps, Halloween Fall Release and featuring only one card, with suggestions of other ideas.

I stamped all the images on XPress It Blending Cardstock.  Both the Witch and Pumpkin were stamped in side the frames after stamping the frames first.  The Ghost & Frankie were fuzzy cut after colouring them.  I used a plain square & circle die to cut the Witch & Pumpkin out.  The edges of both were inked using Pear Tart & Tangelo Ink.   For the Ghost & Frankie, I mounted them on some older Halloween paper after counting a circle out using the Wonky Stitched Circle Die.  I made sure that the Ghost and Frankie that were on paper didn't get cut, but showed up in its entirety.  Some twine and enamel dots finished off the card.

Supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Halloween Mini Set (UU004) - Halloween/Fall Release from High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento:  Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart & Tangelo
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - from Boo & Brews - Doodlebug Designs
  • Copic Markers:
    • Witch:  E0000 - Floral White, E000 - Pale Fruit Pink, E00 - Cotton Pearl, B05 - Process Blue, Bo4 - Tahitian Blue, B02 - Robin's Egg Blue, E33 - Sand, E31 - Brick Beige, E30 - Bisque
    • Ghost: C00 - Cool Gray No. 00, C0 - Cool Gray No. 0, C1 - Cool Gray No. 1
    • Frankie:  YG07 - Acid Green, YG06 - Yellowish Green, YG03 - Yellow Green, YG01 - Green Bice, YG05 - Salad, BV17 - Deep Reddish Blue, BV11 - Soft Violet, BV08 - Blue Violet
    • Pumpkin:  YR18 - Sanguine, YR16 - Apricot, YR15 - Pumpkin Yellow, YG17 - Grass Green, YG13 - Chartreuse, YG11 - Mignotte
    • Frankie & Witch:  N0 - Neutral Gray No. 0, N1 - Neutral Gray No. 1, N3 - Neugral Gray No. 3, N5 - Neutral Gray No. 5, N6 - Neutral Gray No. 6
  • Die:  Wonky Stitched Circle Die - Gina Marie Designs
  • Miscellaneous:  Twine & Ename Dots
Now, I only did the one card this time, but there are numerous ways you can use this versatile stamp set.  Individual tags could be created as well as a seal for Halloween treat bags.  Even another slimline card could be created.  I'm that all of you being the creative persons that you are, can come up with several other ways to use the adorable Halloween Mini Set from High Hopes Stamps.

Haunted Boo-tiful Day

I usually don't make a lot of Halloween cards but when I saw the Haunted House and Frankie & Bride stamps in the Happy Halloween/Fall release at High Hopes I had a few card designs pop in to my head right away.

Frankie and his bride love to travel and today we find them on a haunted house tour! He is the first to admit he isn't great at taking selfies which his new bride finds hilarious but he tries hard. Shifting a little to the right would have helped this photo but they are a boo-tiful day and that is all that matters.

After stamping Frankie & Bride, and the Haunted House I coloured them with Copic markers. Frankie & Bride is hand fussy cut leaving a thin white edge and the haunted house was cut in a square. I added some stones to the path on the haunted house stamp just for fun - thank you to my crafty peep for the idea <wink>
Next I cut some patterned paper from an old We R Memory Keepers pad to fit my 5.5 x 5.5 card base. I added a black card stock back the the house and glued it down. I had a blue dot by the ghost that was driving me crazy. It wasn't ink from my Copics, it was something in the paper, so after I coloured the sky I added some stars (to match the patterned paper) to cover it up.

To make the frame around Frankie, I cut a polaroid die and trimmed the edges and bottom to fit my space. To keep the polaroid die full size covered up too much of the house so I chose to trim it.
I stamped and cut the sentiment to size, added a die cut spider web and some matte dots to finish off the card.

Free Broom Rides!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Free Broom Rides - TT017 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Wicked - FF052 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Wouldn't you love to go on a magical broom for a ride? I know I would.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5" x 5.5". I cut the background paper from Echo Park - I Love Halloween paper pad to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges and onto the paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Carved Pumpkin and a Picket Fence - Blending Brush. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies - Easel Slider dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and orange cardstock. Using black cardstock I cut another piece to the size of 5.5" x 1.25". I applied this to the base using double-sided tape. I inked around the orange die cut with a Picket Fence - Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot. I applied 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the orange die cut and applied it to the base.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Whimsy - Quick Strips Die Set dies. I inked around the edges and on top by first using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Carved Pumpkin with a Picket Fence - Blending Brush and then around the edges again, this time using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up.

Witchy Ride

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this week I am flying in with another great Halloween image from High Hopes Stamps! No this isn't me on the broom - LOL This is "Witchy Ride" and I think she is just too cute.

She must be a really good "flyer" on that broom! Carrying her kitty, a bird, pumpkin and a BAT! WOW! I colored with my Copics (colors below) and found some fun Making Memories papers in purple and green colors. And then matted and put on a black card stock. Sewing down the image with a crazy zig zag stitch. She was really fun to color. And then for her background I used a circle nestie to color a "moon" and then the dark night sky. The sentiment is PERFECT for the image it is High Hopes Stamps "Take Flight" - I punched out with an EK Success punch and then colored around with a black copic for a faux mat look. Then just for some fun I found some bright green enamel dots - just love enamel dots !

Chillin' Tommy Thanksgiving

Am I the only one who looks like Chillin' Tommy Turkey after a Thanksgiving dinner?!? Okay I WANT to be like him but I host my family for Thanksgiving and I think it may be frowned upon if the hostess would curl up and have a nap...no? I am blessed to do the dinner and I love having my family over. There is always lots of good food and some friendly banter with my brother and nephew just to keep things spicy.

"Chillin' Tommy Turkey" from the Happy Halloween/Fall release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps is perfect for my Thanksgiving cards for family and friends. He actually reminds me of my brother who is the one who does! take a nap after dinner.....

I stamped Tommy on some Hammermill card stock and coloured him with Copic markers. Next I hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge. I cut a circle out using a pleated lace die and a circle die to put him on. Patterned paper from the Hello Fall pad by Carta Bella was the perfect backdrop for my design. A fish tail banner was used to cut out the banner in patterened paper and I traced the outside edge of the die and cut it for the card stock behind it.

After gluing down the paper layers I added Tommy using foam pop dots. I added some falling leaves around him and rolled them with a pen to add a bit of curl and movement to my design. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe

Stamp: Chillin' Tommy Turkey  - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper - Hello Fall - Carta Bella

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Hammermill 100lb digital cover stock, fish tail banner die - YNS, ribbon - Stampin' Up, pleated lace circle die - Gina Marie Designs, foam pop dots, circle die - Spellbinders, enamel dots, leaf die - YNS

Frightfully Delightful!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Frankie - TT021 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Frightfully Delightful - FF054 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Frankie is all set for Hallowe'en this year with his little pumpkin full of candy. We used to use a pillow case when we were younger to get a lot more goodies when we went Trick or Treating. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with stamping the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. Using my Brother Scan and Cut, I cut around the image leaving a small white border. I coloured in the image and then used Copic C0 to go around all of the edges. I fussy cut around the sentiment and applied Copic Y17 around the edges. I put this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then applied it to some scrap yellow cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment.

Using my Cricut Explore, I die cut the Haunted House from the Holiday Cakes Cricut Cartridge and the Haunted Tree from the October 31 Cricut Cartridge. I decided to cut the second layer of the haunted house out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card rather than solid cardstock. This gave me the chance to colour in the windows, doors, shutters and moon the way I wanted to in order to make it more spooky with Copic Markers. The moon was coloured in with a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Hickory Smoke, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber and Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes. Using glue, I pieced everything together for the Haunted house.

My card was now ready to assemble. I started with a 6" x 6" base card made from AC Cardstock - White. I cut the bats background to the same size from Echo Park - I Love Halloween paper pack. I applied this directly to the base with double-sided tape. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Hickory Smoke and a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush I inked around all of the edges and across the top of the card to darken the sky a little bit. Next, I die cut the grass using my Cuttlebug, Lawn Fawn - Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper and Lawn Fawn - Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. I applied this directly to the bottom of the card using liquid glue. I applied glue to the haunted tree and haunted house and then applied both of them directly to background. Frankie and the sentiment were both popped up on the card using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Frankie - TT021 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Hickory Smoke, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fossilized Amber

Hello!
Popping in today to share another Halloween card! We're celebrating Fall/Halloween over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps, this month. I love this cutie called "Chester & Friends", his hat just makes me smile. And the cat with the racoon mask....too cute!
I love the fun, colourful and bright papers from the Doodlebug Ghost Town 6x6 collection. I stamped, coloured and cut "Chester & Friends" out using my Brother Cut N Scan and then popped it up with foam squares. A few black enamel dots finish off my card.

Angel Bear Pumpkin

Howdy - MichelleO here today and this month is all about fall cards at High Hopes Stamps - If only we could color up some cooler fall weather! But do love working with the fall colors - Today I colored Angel Bear Pumpkin  He is so cute!

I found a few fall papers in my scraps and colored up Angel Bear with Copics (colors below) and then cut out with an oval stitched die. Sewing all the layers down with my sewing machine and then topped off with the High Hopes Stamps sentiment "If Friends Were Pumpkins" I think Angel Bear matches up perfect with that! For embellishment I added Nuvo Glitter Pen for the wings.

Sending Loads of Wishes

Welcome HH Fans;

From where I sit, I can see the wind blowing the leaves on the tree in front of the house.  Besides dropping to the ground, some of them have changed colours and others are beginning to.  A sure sign that Fall is approaching.  It seems to get a bit earlier every year.

For todays card, I have used this Old Pick Up from High Hopes Stamps, Halloween/Fall Release.

After stamping it on some XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured it with Copic Markers and then used a Double Stitched Rectangle Die to cut it out.  From co-ordinating design paper, I cut out some pumpkins and bushels of apples, and had sit on top of the back of the truck.

Some twine and enamel dots finished off this very CAS card.

Fright Night

Halloween will be here before we know it and this adorable witch and her friends are in the early stages of planning their scary night. We went trick or treating when we were kids and for me it was always fun to raid my dad's closet to see what I could put together for a costume.

My dad was a mechanic so that one was easy - I just grabbed a pair of his dirty coveralls, put a bit of black face paint smears on my face and I was done.

Meet "Witchy & Friends" from the Happy Halloween/Fall release at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Personally, I think this group is too cute to be scary!

After stamping this cute group with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I set them aside and cut my card base (4.5"w x 5.5"h finished size). Next I found some patterned paper from an old We R Memory Keepers pad and cut the pieces to size.
I stamped the sentiment, cut it with a fishtail banner and added it to some black card stock. I don't have the correct size of banner die for the card stock piece so I traced the outside of the banner die and cut it out.
Some die cut bats were added just for fun, and when I went to add black enamel dots I didn't have any in the size I wanted so I added some black eyelets instead. Boy it has been awhile since I used eyelets!
