Birthday Bob

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I'm popping in to share a card I made for our friends 70th birthday this past weekend.  This handsome dude is Birthday Bob with the Caution sentiment from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  Our friend thought this guy was pretty handsome too.

It's always a challenge to make a manly looking card, well it is for me lol.  I have a paper crimper from Marvy which was one of my very first tools purchases when I began scrapbooking.  It was such a good addition to my stash.  I'm not sure if they still make it.  If you don't have one take a look inside your cookie packages etc.  A lot of companies use crimped paper in their packaging & it's a great way to re-purpose things.  I added some burlap for a little extra texture & some self adhesive gumdrops for a pop of colour.
Hair - E37, E35, E34
Skin - E11, E00, E01, E000 & R20
Shirt - E87, E84, E81
Orange - YR07, YR04, YR02
Blue - B39, B37, B34, B32
Yellow - Y13, Y11

I hope you enjoyed today's post & thanks for stopping by....happy craftin'!
Hugs,

Christmas Bear Engine

Howdy - MichelleO here and it is the last day of July and our Christmas in July Celebration... So I thought I would use Christmas Bear Engine to choo choo choo the last day of the month out!

Now due to the good size of this stamp - I wanted to keep the focus on the image... and kept it simple. I colored with my copics (colors below) and then stamped the High Hopes Stamps sentiment "Jingle all the way!" It just felt right with this one.  Sewed down with a zig zag stitch on red card stock. A few dots of Nuvo Black for embellishement and done! Love how simple and clean it feels ... choo choo

Copic colors used -

Now is the time to get your Christmas images and get those cards started so you don't panic and rush in December. Pop over to the High Hopes Stamps Web store HERE and see all the Christmas images.

Thanks so much -

Warm Winter Wishes!

Hello HH Fans!
It's the 2nd last day of the "Christmas in July" theme over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs! Since Christmas is my favourite Holiday, it's been super fun making these cards when the temperatures are hot LOL. This is the rubber stamp "Buddy's Gift Block" from High Hopes
This is my 5th card in my "Christmas in July series" and keeping with my theme, I have once again used non traditional colours on my card. I coloured "Buddy" up to match the papers I am using from the Penny Black "Festive & Frosty" 6x6 collection. I always love to add lots of layers to my cards. This one is no different! Buddy is popped up with foam squares as is the ornament paper as well. Added dimension just makes your card pop I think. All the designer and cardstock papers are inked on the edges with Vintage photo Distress Ink. This I feel just adds another layer of dimension. A piece of ribbon, bow, tree gem and Stickles on Buddy's hat finish off my design today.
I am using the High Hopes sentiment called "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" on the decorated card inside.
Copics Used:
Buddy: C0, C1, C3, C4, C7, C9
Greens: BG11, BG32, BG34
Purples: V15, V19/ V04, V06, V09 (dots on present)
Bird: B91, B95, B97

Happy Stamping!

Think Snow!

Hello HH Fans!
It's "Christmas in July" over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs! It sure has been fun creating these Christmas cards through the heat wave we've been having LOL! This stamp is called "Let the Snow Begin".....hmmmmm I almost want it to be true just to get a break from the heat. I know, don't complain right.... we had an awful Spring and I really do like the warmer weather.
I am using papers today from the MME Sugar Plum 6x6 collection that I've had for awhile now. I love using non traditional colours for Christmas and these papers fit the bill! I coloured in the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and then using my Brother Cut N Scan cut the image out as well as a cardstock layer to put behind it. Lots of layers and all the paper edges are inked with Vintage Photo Distressed ink for my card design. I used some Stampendous Spoonful of Snow for a fun dimensional and sparkly effect.   Now I know you are supposed to add the "snow" and heat with your heat gun from underneath. Me and glitter don't go so well together and it usually flies all over the place LOL. This time I tried using some Glue Gloss first (looks like a tube of lipgloss) then put the "Snow" on top, pressed it down a bit and then melted it with my heat gun. It worked so much better and I wasn't wearing glitter all weekend LOL.
I used foam tape on my stamped image for added dimension.

Copics Used:
R20, R21, R22, R24
BG13, BG15, BG23
C00, C2, YR04, YR09
B000, B00, B01

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Joy

Welcome HH fans;

We can't win with the weather, if it isn't freezing cold, it is raining cats and dogs and then there is the never ending heat wave.  As we are currently in the midst of a heat wave, what better way of cool off than by creating Christmas cards in July.

Yes it is 5 months before Christmas, but it is a great time to start the stash that will be needed for when Christmas does arrive.

For today's card I have used Christmas Joy Snowy from High Hopes Stamps.  I usually don't do an inside for the card, but I did this time using the sentiment.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Christmas Joy Snowy (S228) from High Hopes Stamps
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP - I Love Christmas (Echo Park)

Mooshie's Christmas Kiss

This week's card features the adorable Mooshie and Mudzie.
Mooshie seems to have caught Mudzie by surprise under the mistletoe and has swooped in for a Christmas kiss! This stamp just makes me giggle and will be perfect to bring a smile to someone on my Christmas card giving list.

After colouring Mooshie and Mudzie with alcohol markers and Prisma pencils I hand fussy cut them leaving a this white border. The mistletoe was stamped and cut from the Under the Mistletoe stamp and Stickles were added to the "berries" for a bit of bling.
An oval die was cut to use as the background. Paper from Echo Park was perfect for this stamp as it kind of looks like mistletoe on the paper. The sentiment was stamped and cut to size and mounted on matching cardstock.
Some sparkly ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Mooshie Steals A KissUnder The Mistletoe - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Candy Cane and Mistletoe - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Tall Country Snowman

Howdy MichelleO here today and we are still having a little Christmas in July fun at High Hopes Stamps - and I have always had a bit of a soft spot for this handsome guy... "Tall Country Snowman"

Love his country feel... now I don't know how tall he actually is... I think it is mostly hat. LOL I colored with my Copics (Colors below) and then matted with red card stock. Same red for the base of the card and then pattern papers from Paper Studios. I sewed the layers down - think the sewing adds a texture to it. Then for the sentiment I used High Hopes Stamps "Celebrate the Magic of Christmas" Great sentiment for the Christmas Season!

I just adore Country feeling of Christmas Cards - and this one for sure has it!

Snowlady Surprise

Happy Sunday!

My second Christmas card this year with our Christmas in July theme..
Well, I'd better make a lot more while I'm in this mood, cause I always seem to run out of time at the end of the year.. Am I the only one??
Well, for today I have this cute Snowlady Surprise to show you. I like this stamp, cause you can use this as a Christmas card as well as a birthday card! Therefor I didn't add a sentiment yet, so I can decide at the last moment what kind of card it will be.. ;)

The base of this card is made using white cardstock by Bazill Basics. The dessinpapers are from My Minds Eye (real old ones).. I've added some kraft photo corners and some little wooden stars (they are my all time favorite embellishments!!). Some snowflakes with Uniquely Creative dies and the round stitched die is also from Uniquely Creative.
To get a snowy feel, I've used a pearl maker. And I really like it! It shows the dots very well:
