Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!!  One of favorite things to color is Halloween....I just love the colors associated with it.  My children who are now 29 & 17 don't do Halloween anymore but lucky for me I have tons of pictures still to scrapbook.  This is our daughter Emilee way back in 2007 dressed as a little devil....wasn't she just adorable?  I posted page 1 of this 2 page layout a while back & this page has been sitting on my desk since then just waiting to be completed.  What better day to post it then on Halloween.

For this layout I colored up Silly Spider, Peeking Froggy & Froggy Cauldron.  The backside of one of my papers had some perfect wording for this layout so I cut those out.  My lime green sparkly enamel dots were also a great addition as the color just fit Halloween perfectly.

Milton's Pine

Milton has found the perfect Christmas tree! He is quite proud of himself and looking so manly in his plaid shirt and blue jeans. He sure has picked a beautiful winter day to search for the perfect tree!

I have a secret crush on Milton - he is just so cute! After stamping and colouring him with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut him and ran a black marker around the edges to get any white I had missed. I thought some buffalo plaid paper was perfect for this outdoor themed winter stamp. I found a blue wintery paper for my sky and added some snow drifts and pine trees to create my scene. Some matching twine and a few enamel dots finish off my card.

My Christmas stash of cards is getting bigger everyday, woo hoo.

I try to keep my daily posts very short & sweet so as not to bore you.  BUT if you ever have questions about something please feel free to ask.

An adorable Snow Couple!!

Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing this adorable image called Snow Couple Block.  I mentioned on Sunday's post that I have several of the block images all ready so there will be a few more to come.  I chose not to put a sentiment on today's card because I wanted to leave it open to perhaps use as a Winter anniversary card later.

I broke out some dies for this card, haven't used these ones quite a while.  Both dies are older, the snowflakes are Memory Box & the Scalloped is Spellbinders.  I added Wink of Stella Clear to the snowflakes and a bit on the Snow gals pom pom & rim of her hat.  It's really hard to see in the picture but it's pretty sparkly in the real.  Since my picture taking skills are not the greatest I just wanted to mention the cardstock is actually aqua not grey.

Copic combos

Thanks so much for visiting today, crafty hugs!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Tuesday!
I'm so glad you stopped by today to see this adorable card using the High Hopes Stamps "Santa in Chimney". Santa images always make me smile as they bring up warm memories of Christmas when my girls were little and still believed in Santa. There is nothing better than seeing a child's excited face Christmas morning when they race downstairs to see what Santa left them.
To start I stamped my image with Copic friendly ink and then using my Copic Sketch markers coloured "Santa in Chimney" in. I recently got this die (Kopplade Ringar) from Magnolia-licious when they were clearing out items and decided to play with it today. I cut it out twice with green cardstock and then glued those together. Using a circle die I cut out a circle for Santa to peek through. Then I placed the rings onto my card and positioned one of the larger circles over Santa so that he is peeking through. I cut different patterns with the die from the Echo Park Story of Christmas 6x6 collection and glued them into the circle parts of the die.
Here you can see how Santa is on the inside of the card which lets him peek through when the card is closed. My sentiment is also from High Hopes and is called "Scripty Merry Christmas". The sentiment is from the new "Christmas 2019 Release". Check out the release for more adorable images and sentiments!
I found this cool wooden embellishment and using my Copic's, coloured it to match the card colours. Santa has some Stickles on his fur trim for a fun look! Lots of red sequins finish off my design!
Here's the inside where you can see Santa trying to get down the chimney.
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E11, E21, R20
Beard: C1, C2, C3, C4
Santa's outfit: R37, R59, R89/ C5, C6, C8, Y26
Santa's sack: E50, E51, E53, R37, R59
Chimney: E08, E95, E97, E99

Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Stamping!!

Sharing some Christmas Joy!

Good morning & happy Monday!  Today I wanted to share this cutie I finished up this morning.  This is Christmas Joy Snowy.

I really enjoyed colouring the rich red on this snowman.  I always colour the red last, how about you?  I do that because I get distracted when I'm colouring sometimes & tend to mess it up.....getting the red out can be quite a chore....so for me it comes last lol.

I used a couple of rectangle stitched dies to cut out this image...and well....I sort of cut the image out with the die on the wrong side...told you I get distracted lol.  I added some rich red organza ribbon and a few sparkly enamel dots with some Stardust Stickles on the berries & poof it was all done.

Copic combos
Green - G09, G05, G03
Red - R89, R59, R39, R37
Black - C9, C7, C5
Snow - C0, C1
Brown - E34, E33, E31
Nose - YR18, YR16, YR15
Cheeks - R01 with 0 Blender

Enjoy a wonderful day filled with crafty hugs,

Are you ready for puppy time?!

Happy Sunday!  Today I'm sharing this adorable image called Dog Trio Block which I have paired with the Small Merry Christmas sentiment.  There is a whole series of block stamps from High Hopes....I have about 5 more colored & will share those cards soon.

I picked this beautiful red grosgrain ribbon I have had since my SU days because I love the color & it matched perfectly.  I have a pet peeve about grosgrain though.....I can never get my bow to stay tight....it always wants to undo itself.  Does that happen to you too?  So I played around for quite a while and ended up using my Fabri-Tac glue to hold all things where I wanted them to be...still not perfect but it was the best outcome I could hope for.  Love my Fabri-Tac!!

Another thing I need WAY more practice with is making little banners....I think I'm just lazy and don't want to do the measuring on the back of the paper in pencil.  If I did that they would be so much better....will try that for next time.

Even with all that said I think this turned out okay....another Christmas card in the done box!!!

Copic combos
Black Dog - C10, C8, C06, T9, T7, T5
Brown Dog - E59, E57, E55, E53, E51
Grey Dog - W8, W6, W5, W3, W1
Green - G28, G19, G16
Red - R59, R56, R46
Tongues - R02, R01
Blue - B99, B97, B95
Beak on bird - YR27, YR24
Background - C0

Thank you for joining me today & I hope we see you back tomorrow for another HH post.

Hoping today's card makes for a brighter crafty day!

Hugs,

We Woof You a Merry Christmas!

Happy Sunday!

Heather here, with your Sunday post! One of my most favorite "theme" of stamps at High Hopes is the "block" style images. I don't know why I love them so much, but I the are so much fun to color and create with. I think I love their fun, whimsical characters!

This version is Dog Trio Block. I went with lighter colors on this card, since I was ready to escape the traditional Christmas colors from the past couple of weeks (sometimes it's nice to change it up).

Check out our daily inspiration here on the High Hopes blog. We've got great ideas to kick start all your wonderful projects! You can also find us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest.

Snowman With Banner!

Hello High Hopes Friends,
Today I'm sharing a clean and simple Christmas Card!

I LOVE Snowmen images, and this one is going to be one of my favorites. This cutie is called  "Snowman With Banner" from Highhopesstamps.com

I stamped my image with Tuxedo black ink and colored with alcohol markers. I cut it out using a stitched rectangle die. To give the old distress look I used "Tea Dye" distress ink, wait a few minutes and add tiny dots using a gold gelly roll pen.

Image is colored with Copics;
snowman body C1 C3 wings B000
scarf/heart R29 R39
banner YG13 YG17 YG95 YG97
star YR04 stick C5 C7

To finish my card I used my white and gold gel pen. Used another rectangle and die cut it with shine green cardstock, add crystal stickles and glossy accent. Hope you all have a great and fabulous Sunday!

Have a BLESS day!

Sitting Snowy with Flake

I hope you are enjoying a lovely Saturday so far!  Today I have Sitting Snowy with Flake which I have paired with the Long Unassembled Border sentiment.

When I colored this image a few weeks ago I didn't own the patterned paper YET lol.  I went through my new stash and found the perfect paper to go with the skates...couldn't believe my luck.  I have no idea why I chose to color the skates in the Earth Tones but I suppose subconsciously I knew there was new paper in my future.

I have had the twine in my stash for at least 2 years & never used it.  You know the stuff that unravels as soon as you cut it?  Yep that's the stuff.  I took advantage of that unraveling & trimmed the ends so they are frayed.   I think this will make the perfect masculine Winter card.

Copic combos
Blue - B18, B16, B14
Red - R89, R59, R39, R37
Grey - C1, C0, C00
Beige - E43, E42, E41

    You made the nice list!!

I'm feeling the chilly breeze of Winter in the air today...it's rainy & windy.  Why does Summer & Fall go by so fast?

Today I'm sharing this adorable image called Santa's List with the new sentiment Nice List.

I broke free from my Kraft base today and switched it up to red lol.  I added some Stardust Stickles for a nice glittery effect with some pretty organza ribbon & enamel dots, my go to embellishments.  I kept the colors darker for this card so I can use it for a gentleman I have in mind, even though it has a bow I'm sure he won't mind.

    Hugs,

    Special Friends

This trio of penguins are having some fun trying to get the perfect group selfie. They make me giggle especially the one in the middle with his hat over his eyes......that would be me with my friends!
I have what I call my peeps or my posse - a couple dear, amazing friends who I can 100% be myself with and who always have my back.
This stamp and sentiment remind me of them and the fun we have when we are together .... and the schenanigans too!

After stamping this fun trio of friends I coloured them with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut them leaving a thin white edge. I added some Stickles to the hat and some clear sparkle pen to the ear muffs and dots on the scarf. A fun photo frame die was perfect for my selfie theme and I added some fun winter branch dies and a bow for fun. I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on matching card stock. Some matching enamel dots finish off my card.
