Warm Wishes Snowman

I used to love making snowmen when I was a kid. I haven't done it for years, until last year when my old neighbour came by with her little ones to wait for the drive by Santa Claus parade to come to my street. The snow was perfect for snowman building - really wet ... but heavy! We had so much fun building a snowman and added twigs for it's arms and stones for his buttons. It felt great to be a kid again!

I think I get my love of snowmen from my Mom who has a collection of them that comes out every year. I have a collection too..........but it is in stamps <smile> and thankfully High Hopes Rubber Stamps has a ton to choose from and add to my wish list. I'm not sure I will be able to get them all but a gal can dream right?!? "Glowing Spirit Snowy" was one on my wish list and I am sharing a Christmas card I made with him.

After stamping my image on alcohol marker friendly paper I coloured it with Copic markers and cut it out using a circle die. I set him aside and played around with some patterned paper pieces from the Farmhouse Christmas collection by Carta Bella. Once I figured out my paper combo, I cut the pieces to fit the design I had in my head. I inked all of the white paper edges with antique linen distress ink to help them stand out a little more.
After stamping the sentiment I wanted to use I added it to some matching card stock. I die cut some branches from the Tim Holz's Festive Greens die set, added a cotton lace bow and finished the card off with some enamel dots.

Welcome Everyone;

It is now officially only 6 more weeks to Christmas, which will now creep up very quickly.  The mad rush is starting; however it is going to be a completely different type of mad rush due to all the restrictions with COVID -- limited in person shopping.  Let's hope Canada Post and all the different delivery companies don't get excessively bogged down.

While anyway, I have another Christmas card using the adorable Gnome and Snowman Friend from High Hopes Stamps.  After colouring it with copic markers, I used a Scalloped Stitched Die to cut it out.  Some Christmas Glitter paper was also cut out with the same die.  A snowflake embellishment and some Crystal Ice stickles finished off the card.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Gnome & Snowman Friend (TLF022), Dot Warm Winter Wishes (H257) - both from High Hopes Stamps

Cup Of Love

I love my coffee but when the cold weather of fall and winter hits I have a couple of drinks that warm my soul as much as my body. Hot chocolate - with marshmallows as a bonus - brings back a ton of fun child hood memories that make me smile. It was the perfect drink to warm my brothers and I up after being outside in the cold building snowmen and sledding all day.

Snowman's Cup of Love from High Hopes Rubber Stamps makes me smile and I wonder if he has hot chocolate in his cup....

After stamping and colouring this adorable stamp, I cut it out using a rectangle die and added some Stickles to his coat cuffs, scarf and buttons. I set him aside and used a pleated lace rectangle die to cut out a matching card stock backing to put him on.
I used paper from an older Bo Bunny collection to match the subject of my stamp - the cups with hearts are perfect for this stamp.
Next I cut out some icicles out of some glitter card stock that matches the Stickles and stamped and mounted the sentiment.
Ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Warm Winter Wishes!

Hello HH Fans!
It's the 2nd last day of the "Christmas in July" theme over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs! Since Christmas is my favourite Holiday, it's been super fun making these cards when the temperatures are hot LOL. This is the rubber stamp "Buddy's Gift Block" from High Hopes
This is my 5th card in my "Christmas in July series" and keeping with my theme, I have once again used non traditional colours on my card. I coloured "Buddy" up to match the papers I am using from the Penny Black "Festive & Frosty" 6x6 collection. I always love to add lots of layers to my cards. This one is no different! Buddy is popped up with foam squares as is the ornament paper as well. Added dimension just makes your card pop I think. All the designer and cardstock papers are inked on the edges with Vintage photo Distress Ink. This I feel just adds another layer of dimension. A piece of ribbon, bow, tree gem and Stickles on Buddy's hat finish off my design today.
I am using the High Hopes sentiment called "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" on the decorated card inside.
Copics Used:
Buddy: C0, C1, C3, C4, C7, C9
Greens: BG11, BG32, BG34
Purples: V15, V19/ V04, V06, V09 (dots on present)
Bird: B91, B95, B97

Happy Stamping!

Work of Art!

Hello!
It's the last day of the "Christmas in July" over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs. I'm finishing off the month with this adorable snowman stamp called "Making Friends" from High Hopes Stamps. Snowmen and Penguins are my favourite winter "friends" so of course I think his Snowman is just so super cute.
The paper is from an older Echo Park collection called "I Love Winter". I just love the blues and reds in this collection! I added some Diamond Stickles for a bit of sparkle and a few enamel dots as well. The sentiment from HH called "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" is perfect for the front of my card.
On the inside I used the HH sentiment called "Work of Art". I absolutely love this saying! It's so true as you really do put all your love into building a snowman!
Copics Used:

Snowy's Cup!

Hi High Hope Fans!
It's Tuesday so that means you can find me over on the High Hopes Blog sharing the cards I made. Today's cards feature the adorable "Snowy's Cup" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps!
I love this stamp because you can stamp a sentiment on the middle of the cup! I used the "Dot warm Winter Wishes" sentiment to do just that!

On the inside I used the "Dot Snowman Melts" sentiment!

My paper is from the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6x6 collection, an oldie but still one of my favourite paper collections! I used my Brother Cut N Scan to cut around my image and then popped it up with foam squares for added dimension. I struggled with this layout, I wanted to add more of something but couldn't decide what! Then my mom appeared in my ear saying "less is more" lol so I decided to just leave it like it is! Sometimes Mom is right LOL!

It's hard to see but there is Glossy accents on the nose and buttons, and Spectrum Noir Glitter pen on the purple areas and the red stripes of the candy cane.

Copics Used:
C1, C6, C8, YR04, R24, R27, R29
V12, V15, V17, B23, B26, BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18

Snowman Hot Tub

                          Happy New Year......almost.....High Hopes Fans!

For today's post I used an older stamp from High Hopes called "Snow Yummy".
I had fun with this one ......especially coming up with a name for the card. I wanted to keep the card layout fairly simple on this one so this fun stamp would be the focus of the card.

I guess this is what snow people do to relax.....sit in a cup of hot chocolate...

I coloured up my stamp with alcohol markers, fussy cut it out adn popped him up with pop dots. The cup is paper pieced with paper from an older 6x6 pad of Bo Bunny paper. I also fussy cut the snowflake in the  - yes I am breaking in my new cuticle scissors with this one - and added a drop of silver moondust Nuvo crystal drops to the middle of it.
The sentiment is stamped directly on the snow hills - yes I held my breath and stamped lol.
Stitched snow hills were cut out using a die along with the fence. Some ribbon from my stash and some more Nuvo crystal drops finish off my card.

Gimmie A Hug Snowman

Hello High Hopes Fans!!!

It's Christmas in July!  With all this extreme heat lately, it's a bit difficult to think about Christmas cards...but, such a great time to get ahead of the rush!!!

For today's post, I am sharing another Christmas/Winter card using an older, but super adorable image!
 Jane

This is Gimmie A Hug Snowman (Q003) and Dot Warm Winter Wishes sentiment (H257).  Such a cute image and quick and easy one to colour too!

To start, I used a piece of watercolour paper and a Versamark Ink Pad to stamp the image (using my Misti Stamping Tool) then applied Black Embossing Powder on the ink and heated it.  To colour the image, Tombow Markers and water were used.  After the colouring was finished and dry, Glossy Accents were added on the snowman's carrot nose and holly leaves. Also, some Xmas Red Stickles were applied on the holly berries to add a bit of sparkle.  Once this was all dry, I proceeded to fussy cut out the image.

For the card base, I decided on a piece of SU Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The sky background is a piece of designer paper from MFT-Watercolor Wash 6x6 Paper Pad.  The snow hills were die cut using a Stitched Slopes & Hills die from Simon Says on white cardstock.  The trees were die cut using a Frantic Stamper die called Tall Pine Tree using SU Garden Green cardstock.  The base of the trees were coloured brown with the Tombow markers.  To create the snow falling, a Tim Holtz Snowfall Embossing Folder was first used on the sky, then Frosted Lace Stickles were applied on each raised piece of snow.  What a nice sparkle and little bit of texture this added to the card.  The edge of the snow hill was also done with some Frosted Lace Stickles.

The "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment was stamped with a versamark ink pad and SU Early Espresso Embossing Powder was applied then heated. To complete this card, the entire scene was die cut a YNS-Stitched Rectangle die and the main image was adhered using foam tape to add some depth and focus on the cute little fella.
