From our Gnome to Yours - Merry Christmas

Welcome Everyone;

Another week has gone by and Friday is here again.  For today's card, I have used this adorable Elf Gnome paired with the sentiment called From Our Gnome. Both are from High Hopes Stamps.  Now it looks like this Elf has been enjoying himself.  He is such a fun character.

After stamping the image onto some XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured him with Copic Markers.  I cut him out using a Wonky Stitched Oval Die.  Using the same die, I cut a piece of green, red, silver & gold from the Festive Foil Paper Pad by Kaisercraft.  These were lined up so that they overlapped a bit. Some enamel dots finished off this CAS cards.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Elf Gnome -- TLF007, From Our Gnome -- GLL001 both from High Hopes Stamps

Beary Good Friends

I have to be honest, winter is not my favourite time of year but it has it's beautiful moments. When the sky is blue, there is snow on the trees and the sun is shining and making the snow sparkle like little diamonds it is breathtaking.

These are the days I love to take my best 4 legged pal for a little longer walk than usual - if it's not too cold - and these days are the inspiration for my card. I used the Winter Wonderland Background and Beary Good Friends to create my winter wonderland scene.

After stamping my stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink I coloured them with Copic markers. I hand fussy cut the friends stamp and added some Star Dust Stickles and white paint for a falling snow effect on the background stamp.

Next, I used a label die to cut out the middle of the background - yes I held my breath while I did this! I cut a dark navy card stock piece to fit my card front (4.5 x 4.5") and layed the frame piece of my background on it to line up the label die and cut it to create the frame.
It took a bit of patience and lining up to add the background piece to the card stock but I added some foam pop dots and set it in place. The next step was to add the"cut" background piece to the base piece of card stock. To finish creating my scene I added the friends stamp in the middle of the frame with foam pop dots. I added the sentiment, glitter dots and matching sparkly ribbon to finish off my card.

Using My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut a 5.25" x 4" rectangle from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some snow to the sky using a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Sharpie Water Based Paint - White - Extra Fine Point. Stickles - Diamond was added to the ice cubes and Wink of Stella - Clear was applied to the candy cane. Stickles - Star Dust was added to all of the snow. This was then set aside to dry.

Once everything was dry, I popped up the image onto Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. paper cut and folded to 5.5" x 4.25" with U-Line double-sided tape. I stamped out the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in the hearts with Copics and tinted the white paper with Lawn Fawn - Peacock ink. Udderly Fabulous!

Hello!
I'm popping in today to share my card featuring the High Hopes image called "Decorating With Charlie" from the "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" re-release. Love these two friends helping each other out to decorate the tree.
I started my card by stamping the image onto Copic friendly paper. Next using my Copic Sketch markers, I coloured in the image. I decided to cut the image out with a Gina Marie "Pleated Lace Rectangle" die and layered it over paper from Echo Park's "A Perfect Christmas" collection. My card today is 6.5"x5". The sentiment from High Hopes called "Udderly Fabulous" goes so well with this image. I ended cutting it in half to place it on the top and bottom of my design. A few Christmas coloured gems finish off my card today.
Copics Used:

Christmas Wishes

I have a few young men in my life who I give Christmas cards to but I always find it a challenge to figure out what stamp or stamps to use on their cards. I think Joey Snowy is absolutely adorable! and perfect for a masculine themed Christmas card. These young men all like and have a dog in their life so I masked the dog out of the "Christmas Treat" stamp to add to the card.

Here's hoping this card works for one of the youngun's in my life and brings a smile.

I stamped both stamps on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I loved the colours of the Winter Magic paper from Echo Park and coloured my stamps to match it.
I cut my card base and rounded the bottom front corners with a corner punch and cut the patterned paper and card stock to match. Next I cut some patterned paper using a rounded corner die to use as a back drop behind the stamps and added some ribbon to "ground" them.
I stamped the sentiment, added it to matching card stock and cut some fish tail banner dies to go behind it. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Believe!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Believe Snowman - TFL006 and Snow Globe - ULF002 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and North Pole Greetings - GLL005 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. It's time to start believing the magic of Christmas and the joy that it brings to everyone!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base using AC Cardstock - White cut and folded to 6" x 6". The snowflake background is from Lawn Fawn - Let It Shine Snowflakes (6" x 6") paper pad. I applied this directly to the base using double-sided tape.

Using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies - Nesting Circles and my Cuttlebug, I die cut a 3.75" circle from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper. With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the snowman scene image onto it. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some snow to the sky and snowman's arms using a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. Sakura Glaze - Black was added to the eyes of the snowman and birds and the snowman's mouth. With a Ranger - Emboss It Pen Clear, I added some ink to the top of the Snowman's hat, sign, icicles, tops of the birdhouses and snow drifts and then heat embossed everything with WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter and a Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. Stickles - Diamond was added as an extra layer to the snow and Wink of Stella - Clear was applied over all the snowman. This was then set aside to dry.

With my MISTI and Memento - Summer Sky ink I stamped the top part of the globe onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper. I cleaned off the stamp and this time, I used some Post-it Notes to hide the background inside the globe and inked the braided border for both the top and bottom of the base with Versamark ink. I applied Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing powder and heat embossed it using a Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. With my globe image still in place on my MISTI, I removed the snowglobe stamp and added the sentiment turning up both ends of the stamp slightly to give the words some curvature. The sentiment was stamped using Versamark ink and then Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing powder was applied to it and then heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool. The base was then coloured in using my Copic markers and a Gelly Roll Stardust - Clear pen was used to colour in the white areas to give it some glitter. I also added some of this pen to the tops of the snowman's arms. With my scissors, I fussy cut around the entire snow globe.

The card was now ready to assemble. I attached 3M double-side tape to pop up the snow globe onto the main background and then added 3M double-sided tape to the back of the circle and centred it on the top part of the globe. Lastly, to finish off the card, I applied some Nuvo Crystal Drops - Caribbean Ocean, Violet Galaxy and Nuvo Glitter Drops - Sherbert Shimmer to some of the snowflakes on the base card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Believe Snowman - TFL006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Snow Globe - ULF002 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Memento - Summer Sky ink, Versamark

Penguin Crush!

Happy Tuesday!
Tuesday's mean I get to colour a High Hopes image and post about it! It makes Tuesday's my favourite day of the week LOL. Meet the adorable "Penguin Crush" red rubber-stamp. I like to imagine that this will be their first kiss. Looks to me that these two are heading from crush status to love!!
I thought that the papers in the Echo Park "Celebrate Winter" 6x6 collection were a perfect choice for this pair. I stamped, coloured and cut out the image with my Brother Cut N Scan. I popped the HH sentiment "Candy Cane Wishes" and the image up on the card with foam squares. Foam squares help to give your card dimension.
Copics Used:

Homespun Hearts Snowy

Howdy -MichelleO here - I just love a little Country Christmas Crafting!  This image from High Hopes Stamps is "Homespun Hearts Snowy

giggle... country right? Love it! I colored with my Copics (colors below) and then added lots of Nuvo Glitter to the hearts so they twinkle! The pattern papers are from Farm House Norland Collection. Love how they match up with simple kraft card stock for a base. All my layers are sewn down with a zig zag stitch and then put together with a fun High Hopes Stamps sentiment "Twinkle All the Way", which of course I added Nuvo glitter to those stars as well.

Sweet little snowman with heart! or hearts?!

For today's card, I'm using the adorable Lil' Frosty who is certainly enjoying his drink and paired it with the  Chill Out sentiment.  Both of these stamps are from the "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" release.

Moo-rry Christmas

Growing up I spent my summer vacations on my uncle's dairy farm or some friends of mine who lived on dairy farms. Cows weren't necessarily my favourite animal but the more time I spent milking and feeding them I realized that they all had their own personalities. My uncle and friends always had their favourites and I soon grew to love a few as well - her name was Betsy <smile>

"Charlie's Tag" and all of the Charlie stamps in the It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas release bring back some fun memories and make me smile!

After stamping Charlie with Memento Tuxedo black ink, I coloured him using Copic markers and added some bling to his hat with Stickles and to the lights with a clear Spectrum Sparkle pen. Next I masked off the sentiment and stamped the two words separately and then hand fussy cut him leaving a thin white edge.
I decided to do an A2 size card and cut the front of it in half to create a "barn door" for my tag to sit on. The tag reminds me of some of the ways we would decorate the barn doors for Christmas.
I loved the barn board paper in the Jingle All The Way paper pad from Echo Park and also added some plaid from the Tartan paper set from Whimsy. On the inside I cut a white piece of card stock so I had room to write some Christmas wishes before giving the card.
Next I die cut some holly leaves and snowflakes and added them to three corners. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Brrr!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Havin' A Ball Snowman - S147 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Brr... - FDG004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Brr.... - Winter is coming soon!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base using Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cut to 4.25" x 5.5". I cut out the background from Heartfelt Creations - Merry and Bright Collection and sized it to 4" x 5.25". Adding double-sided tape, I adhered this to some yellow cardstock. I cut around the yellow cardstock and left a very thin border. Lastly, I applied some double-sided tape and glue and attached it to the base.

With my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and sentiment with Copic markers. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then I fussy cut around the image and the sentiment. Using a black pen, I outlined all of the edges for the image and sentiment, except in the snowy area. I peeled off the backing to the sentiment pieces and adhered them to the card front. I glued the snowman image in place at the bottom of the cut out background. I applied Stickles - Sea Glass to the Sweater cuffs and trim and a little bit in the snow at the bottom of the snowman. Stickles - HIbiscus was applied to the hat trim and pom pom. Stickles - Diamond was added to the snowballs and Stickles Crystal, Diamond and Stardust were all added to the snow to finish off the card.

Merry Christmas!

Howdy!
I don't know about you, but I never really thought of Cows being a Christmas "thing". But after seeing this cutie called "Charlie's Christmas" from High Hopes,  I wonder why we didn't think of this years ago!! He's just so cute and perfect for so many people, especially farmers! Charlie is perfect to colour to make a card using non-traditional Christmas colours!
I stamped Charlie onto some Copic friendly paper and then using mu Copic Sketch markers, coloured him in. Using my Brother Cut N Scan, I cut Charlie out and added him to my card with foam squares. I decided to use papers from the Photoplay "Kringle & Co." 6x6 collection. The HH sentiment called "Your Herd" matches perfectly for Charlie! A bit of ribbon, and Crystal Stickles on Charlie's hat finish off my card.

Penguin Family Sending Wishes of Peace, Love & Joy

Welcome Everyone,

For the month of October, High Hopes Stamps is having another re-release called "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas".

For today's card, I'm using the ever so cute Penguin Family paired with the sentiment Peace, Love, Joy.

After stamping the image on XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured it with Copic Markers and then used the Loopy Square Die to cut it out.  Some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops where added to the trims on the hats and Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents to the mounds of snow.  Twine, some Glacier Jewels and Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Pens, finished off this CAS card.

Penguin Christmas

Oh my goodness! Have you seen the It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas release? So many fun, cute stamps that are perfect to help get your Christmas/winter card mojo going!

I have a lot of people who love penguins in my life so "Penguin Presents" was a perfect stamp for me to get to create a card with. I have a hard time remembering from year to year which stamp I used on who's card so to have a few new penguin stamps to choose from is perfect in my world. <smile>

I chose to do my take on a Front Flap style card.

I stamped my image, coloured it with Copic markers, added some polka dots to his scarf with a white gel pen  and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I set him aside and chose some patterned paper from Photo Play to match. I created my card base by cutting some matching card stock to a 5.5" x 5.5" size.

Next, I cut a quarter of an inch off the outside of the top piece so the plaid background which is actually the inside of the card would show on the front. What I didn't think about is that by doing that, the card actually won't sit to be displayed because there isn't anything there for it it sit on. I decided to continue with my take on the design because I have a few people in my life who display their card laying down - phew! I cut some snowflake paper for the top of the card and added some ribbon and a sentiment. Then I measured my stamp to figure out how big my "flap" needed to be, cut it and added a snowy hill, a snowflake border and my stamped image, glued it to the card base and added the plaid patterned paper.

To finish off the card I stamped a sentiment on the inside on a piece of white card stock and added some enamel dots to the front.
