Fresh Baked.....

 Hi Everyone,

Today I'm sharing this adorable image called Fresh Baked from our Christmas In July Release.  Boy oh boy does this bring back memories of my Mom making Christmas cookies & the wonderful smell all throughout the house.  Baking is so synonymous with Christmas isn't it?

I paired this image with the sentiment From All of Us...I thought it was perfect for this card.

When my friend went to Holland a couple of years ago she brought me back the most beautiful patterned paper.  The cool thing about this particular pad is that it is 12" x 6" and as thick as cardstock, perfect for a card base.  I can't say that I have ever made a card base out of patterned paper.  Because the patterned paper has gold on it I chose some Brushed Gold cardstock from SU that I have been hording for years.  I rarely use traditional colors for Christmas cards but this all worked out so well & I'm quite pleased.

Holiday Cheer

I can't believe we are at the end of July already!  I have had so much fun playing with the Christmas in July release I am sad to see the month end!

For me, one of the best things about making cards is personalizing the stamps I use to the person receiving the card. It is no different at Christmas time and one of the greatest gifts I receive is not only spending time with family and friends, but I to see the smiles when they open the cards I have made just for them.

As I have mentioned before, I have a lot of people in my life who love penguins so of course I had to play with "Penguin Present" from High Hopes. He is adorable! and I think he would be perfect for a Happy New Year or winter Birthday card too!

After stamping my image with Memento Tuxedo black ink I coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out using a cross stitch square die. I love a little bit of bling on my cards - especially Christmas cards - so I added some gold glitter Nuvo drops to the tissue paper around him. Patterned paper from the A Cozy Christmas collection from Echo Park was perfect for my design. I used a stitched tag die to cut out the of patterned paper to go behind him to add a bit of interest to the design.

For the sentiment, I masked off the bottom portion of a larger sentiment and just used the first line. I love when I can make my purchases go further with a bit of masking. A bow, evergreen branch die cuts and enamel dots finish off my card.

Think Snow!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Snowman Stumble - TT014 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Think Snow 2 - FF047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I grew up skating at the outdoor rink directly across the street from my house. We couldn't wait to get home from school and throw on our skates. The rinks were always full of children from the neighbourhood. We would either play rink games or hockey. I think there was a rink every couple of blocks. As soon as we'd finish eating, we were back on the ice again. Our parents were always yelling at us to come inside at the end of the day. How times have changed. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5" x 4.25". My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time - Rectangle Frame Dies were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart - Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper to be the same size as the base card. With a Picket Fence - Blending Brush and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch and Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Salty Ocean, I created the background sky. I applied this directly to the glitter background paper. Once this was done, I applied this directly to the base using double-sided tape. Next, Nellie's Choice - Nature Scene Dies - NSD001 - Mountains were used to die cut the tree scenery using Momenta - Cardstock and using a small dauber I added in some darker touches of green using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint. The pond was die cut using Whimsy Stamps - Wavy Nested Frame Dies Set and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black. Lastly, I die cut the sentiment using Joy Crafts - Labels and Tags and inked around the edges with my Picket Fence - Blending Brush and the ink that was still on it from doing the sky.

I coloured in the image with Copic markers and added in some highlights on the skate blades with Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen. I inked the image a second time onto the Hot Buy Craft Smart - Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper for the snowman body and fussy cut around it. Once it was coloured in with Copics, I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to the base stamped image.

The card was now ready to assemble. Part of the pond was cut off at the top before it was attached it to the sparkly background using glue and double-sided tape. Next, I added some 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the trees and applied it over top of where the sky ended and the pond met. To create the snow around the pond and in between the trees, pond and snow, I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while it was still wet. Marvy Uchida - Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the liquid and make it puff up to look like fluffy snow. I added some Stickles - Diamond to the pompom. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Sharpie Water Based Paint - White - Extra Fine Point pen, I created the snow in the sky. Lastly, to finish off the card, I added 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied it to the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Snowman Stumble - TT014 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Think Snow 2 - FF047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peeled Paint

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb., Momenta - Cardstock, Hot Buy Craft Smart - Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper 12" x 12"

Skiing Snowman fun....

 Hi Everyone,

Today I'm popping in to share this adorable Skiing Snowman from our "Christmas In July" release.  This little guy reminds me of myself.  Why you ask?  Well when my brother & I were teenagers we went skiing with some friends.  Now I thought this adventure would be soooo much fun and I thought how hard could it be?  Well how wrong I was!  I spent the day falling from the top of the hill all the way to the bottom.  My brother meanwhile looked like he had been skiing his whole life.  So needless to say it was not something I ever did again.  I know I shouldn't have given up BUT not only was my right leg & hip bruised for weeks so was my ego lol!

I paired this cutie with the Freezin' Season sentiment.  My plan is to send this card off to my brother this year...I'm sure he will get quite the kick out of it.

Filled With Love!

Happy Tuesday!
Welcome to another card for the "Christmas in July" release over at High Hopes Stamps! If you haven't stopped by the online store, you must, there are so many adorable stamps in this release! I get to play with the adorable "Penguin Love" today! I've said it before, but my Grandma loved penguins! Everytime I see one, it brings back warm and fuzzy feelings! Gosh I miss her so much!
I decided to use non-traditional colours for my card today! I just thought the Photoplay "Kringle & Co" 6x6 collection was perfect for these cuties! I just love the black and red combination! I stamped my image, coloured it with my Copic markers and then cut it out using a die. I decided to use the High Hopes "Sm Script Filled With Love" sentiment a bit different than it comes. I stamped it and then cut it in half so I could place it on the top and bottom of my card. Some Crystal Stickes on the hats and glitter pen on the iceberg finish off my card.

Wasn't Me!

Howdy - MichelleO here - and I have to admit... I saved a favorite Christmas image from High Hopes Stamps to use for my last Christmas in July card - I adore this image... maybe because it is REALLY close to home!

This is "Wasn't Me!"

Oh this image makes me laugh! Takes me back many many years ago - to Hubby and I's first Christmas tree... we set it up proudly in the window of our apartment. Said Wow... went to get dinner... and when we walked back in the front door... OH MY our tree was on the ground all our satin Christmas ornaments were shredded all over the house. HA ! Our Cat and new kitten seemed to have a lot of fun in that couple of hours! So it really makes me happy when coloring this one! "Wasn't Me!" is colored with my Copics (colors below) and then added Nuvo Glitter pen on the ornaments so they have some sparkle. I then found some Christmas pattern papers from Graphic 45 collection, that I stacked and sewed down with both straight and zig zag stitches. A ribbon around the entire card tied off with a bow. And then the sentiment "Define Naughty" (which I find so funny) I punched it out with a EK Success punch and created a faux mat with my Copic marker around the edge.

This one really does make me grin!

Snowman Snowball

Hi everyone,

I can't believe I haven't posted since May....WOW that just blew me away!  It appears I do a lot more coloring than getting my cards made.  I suppose that's why stash of colored images is crazy big.  I need to change that because it's July & I have a bucket load of cards to get done.

Here at High Hopes Rubber Stamps we are celebrating "Christmas In July".  I colored up this adorable image called Snowman Snowball for the website and just couldn't resist getting a card done with this cutie today.  When you get an idea in your mind you have to run with it right?!  I paired this image with the High Hopes sentiment called Cozy Season.

I pulled out an older Bo Bunny pad called Powder Mountain.  I have wanted to use the pinecone paper for a long time but didn't quite have an image that spoke to me...this one was a good match.  I remember when I was little my brothers & I would go tobogganing & I would run around collecting up all the pinecones I could find from under the pine trees.  It was like a treasure hunt for me to find them buried in the snow.  I always carted them all home for my Mom...don't think she really wanted them but she took them anyway lol.

Seasons Greetings

Welcome everyone;

The days are passing quickly and before we know it, Christmas will be upon us.  If all goes well between now and then, this Christmas will be remembered like no other.  The worst of the pandemic will be behind us, and visiting will be allowed.

As promised in a previous post, today's post is the third and final installment for the Snowman Mini Set from High Hopes Stamps.  Today's card is a slimline one, using all three snowpeople, plus an extra idea or two.

After stamping the images on XPress It Blending Cardstock, and colouring them with copic markers, I cut them out using a slimline die.  Now, I haven't done this for a long while, but I added some stitching using some varigated Christmas thread and used the holes that were on the die.  The silver paper behind the main image had some embossing on it. The next size up in the die set was used to cut it out and some stitching was also done on it. Some poinsettias and a silver snowflake finished off the card.

Yes, the card above is the main card for today's post.  While playing around with this adorable set of 3 awesome mini snowmen and the snowlady, I came up with a some other uses for them.  Below are some tags that I created using this set. A Sizzix Die set was used to cut both the tag base and design paper at the same time.  I just added the image, some ribbon, and a peel off sticker sentiment  to finish them off. The image on right is a Christmas Crafts tag in my stash.  I just added some design paper to it.  This stamp set can also be used as a seal on a gift or gift bag.

Winter Fun!

I learned to skate at quite a young age. I had my share of bumps and bruises but I know I didn't look as adorable as "Snowman Stumble" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps when I was learning to skate. My challenges were explained when it was realized that the skates I was using were figure skates that had an extra pick on the toe which is needed by figure skaters to do jumps etc. Once the adjustment was made in my technique for this fact, learning to skate became much easier!

Meet Snowman Stumble - how adorable able is he?! Perfect for your winter/Christmas cards for anyone who loves a snowman!

I stamped this cutie and coloured with my Copic markers and added some white polka dots to his hat with a white gel pen. Next I used the pleated lace oval die to cut him out and I cut and placed a card stock oval to put behind the die cut image.

Patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and Bo Bunny were a fun wintery combination that was cut to fit my design. I added some snowflake dies from Sizzix and put some matching crystals in the middle of each one to add a bit of bling. The image is added with some foam pop dots to add some dimension to my card. Some ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

From All Of Us!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Fresh Baked - TT004 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and From All of Us - FF046 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Looks like Santa and my husband have one thing in common!! They both love cookies!!! Especially, when they are fresh baked out of the oven. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5" x 5.5". I chose Echo Park Co. - Twas the Night Before Christmas for my background paper and trimmed it to be the same size as the card. I applied double-sided tape to it and adhered it directly to the base card. With my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut the next 3 layers using Hot Buy - Craft Smart - Christmas Embossed, Green Cardstock and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I applied double-sided tape to the light green layer and attached it directly to the background layer. Then, I added some 3M VHB - 2 sided tape to the back of the Green Cardstock and applied that on top of the light green layer. I die cut the circle for the sentiment using some spare Hammermill - Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock using My Creative Time - Bunch of Fun Circle Dies and the ornament pieces using My Creative Time - Fun Stitched Ornaments & More and some scrap Red Cardstock and Hammermill Cardstock. Using a
Pïlot Silver Marker - Medium Point pen, the top piece was coloured in.

The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento - Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles - Diamond to the lady's cuffs, dress trim, hat and collar and Stickles - Icicle to the man's hat, pompom, collar, cuffs and trim on his coat. I also added this to the boy's pompoms. Using the Pïlot Silver Marker - Medium Point pen, I traced around the outside of the circle for the sentiment.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied double-sided tape to the back of it and applied the image to the top of the dark green layer. 3M VHB - 2 sided tape was added to the back of the sentiment and ornament ball. I assembled both pieces to the top of the card. Lastly, I added in some gold tinsel through the hole at the top of the ornament.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Tuesday!
It's "Christmas In July" over at High Hopes Stamps! I have lots of friends that have birthdays in December, so instead of making this a "Christmas Card", I decided to make it a birthday card! High Hopes "Lil' Snowbird" is beyond adorable and perfect for one of my Besties!
To start, I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper and coloured it in with my Copic Sketch markers. I am using papers from the Bella Blvd. "Santa Squad" 6x6 collection. I chose papers from this designer collection that didn't scream Christmas and they were perfect for my Birthday theme. Using a Gina marie Double Looped Oval die, I cut out the coloured image. I thought the High Hopes "Bird Told Me" sentiment was perfect for this image! A white gel pen was used to make polka dots on her bow and mitts to match with the ribbon bow I made. Some Stickles and glitter pen add that touch of sparkle I love so much!
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E21, E11, R20, R22

Carolers - Fa-la-la-la

Howdy - MichelleO here today with more Christmas in July with High Hopes Stamps this week. This week we are doing a little singing. Why is it I am now humming all kinds of Christmas Songs? Fa-La-La-La! This image is High Hopes Carolers - They are too sweet singing loud with their dog and kitty at their feet.

Now I went non traditional this week again. Not sure I pulled this one off as well.. sigh. I found this starry night pattern paper from Graphic 45 with sheet music in the same collection. Seems good with my Christmas singers. I sewed the two papers with a zig zag stitch. Then coloring the image with lots of Copic markers (colors below) I tried to match up and go with the purple and tan theme. I thought that little girl just had to have some bling to her sweater, so I added some Purple Stickles and Gold Stickles so she sparkled. I stamped out the Fa-la-la-la sentiment from High Hopes Stamps twice to create a border. Then to make sure they stayed on the snow I have a border fence punch with a cast iron gate top. So very non traditional but not sure ... I love my singing couple though and her bling. :0)

Snow Business

Good morning High Hopes Stamps friends and welcome.
Can't wait for Christmas to be here, it's so warm in SoCal. For today I'm using this fun Christmas image called "Sledding Snowman" and "Snow Business" from High Hopes Stamps

To start my card I stamped the image with black ink and colored with my Prisma colors pencils. I smooth my coloring using a blending pen and added lines with gelly white roll pen. The pattern paper I'm using is from The Paper Studio. To finish my card I added some Crystal stickles and a red rhinestone. I also added some small triangles in the corner of my image. I stamped the sentiment and layered over a piece of gingham paper. Hope you have enjoy my card today!

Thank you for visit my blog today.
Have a BLESS day.

Snowman Mini Set

Welcome Everyone;

As promised last week, I'm back again with another set of cards created using the adorable Snowman Mini Set from High Hopes Stamps, "Christmas in July" Release.

For today's post, I have created not one, but three different cards using the Snowman Mini Set.  These are A2 size cards which are 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"  and smaller than last weeks 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card.

The borders were stamped first and the snowlady/snowman images were then stamped inside these borders.  The Misti, made doing this quite easy, thank goodness.  After colouring them all with Copic Markers, the excess white was trimmed off.  The design paper for all the cards is from the Winter Whimsy pack by Gina K Designs. Various winter dies from Memory Box and some other embellishments finished off these cards.

Snowy Couple

Howdy - MichelleO here today - Enjoying a little Christmas in July at High Hope Stamps - This week I pulled out "Snowy Couple" - they are just so sweet!

Now first you may wonder about my color choice. I decided to start a little personal challenge and use a some non-traditional colors for some of my theme cards. I ran across this collection from Lilybee Collections Buttercup patterns - Can't get much further than that for Christmas snowmen! I like it though! I layered the pattern papers up and colored the image with my Copics (colors below) to match up with the papers. Who says a pretty little snow girl can't wear a pop of yellow! I then used the High Hopes Stamp sentiment "We wish you a Merry Christmas" - I punched it out with and Ek Success and then went around the edge with a matching Copic color.

And for some reason three large brads were showing on my desk that just happened to match perfect! Love that!

Copic colors used -
